I would not recommend Bob as he started out great at first, but has trouble finishing his job. We hired him and paid him in full due to a lawsuit, then we just can't get a hold of him as he would never respond to our calls, emails or text messages. Until finally he responded and apologized and finished the job and even offered some free service. Three months later he still did not provide the free service that he promised and again cannot be reached. It is very frustrating for us and unprofessional on his part.

I reached out to Roberto to see if he would take my case. He agreed he would and would send over a contract. I waited for over two weeks to get said contract. I called and emailed multiple times. I even asked if he doesn't have the time, just communicate that so I can find another attorney. Nothing. Dead silence. I would not recommend working with him. If this is the level of communication he provides before starting a case, image how it is during a case. No thank you.

I heard about bad attorneys before and now i believe it. If you want to waste money hire her, if you want something actually done with your case DO NOT hire her. She handled my husband's custody and modification case and she did a HORRIBLE job. WORST representation ever. She is not professional at all, doesn't return calls right away. just awful, awful. we paid her and she did NOTHING but always gave the same answers and excuses. she doesn't study the case. we had to fire her and actually hire a different attorney who was able to get things done in just 3 month what she couldn't do in over 14 month...smh...such a huge waste of money...she doesn't know what she is doing........I wish i did my study on her before hiring her.

I hired Rolanda Dent to help me with a simple child support modification enforcement. I have a modification to my current child support and also back child support, referred to as arrears. All this was agreed upon in Mediation and signed by the court Judge James Lombardino. When my paperwork finally reached the enforcement division of the Attorney Generals Office of Child Support, they would only enforce the modified current child support, not the arrears portion or back child support that all parties had agreed upon. They told me it was worded wrong, my paperwork that is and I would have to go back to court to get it worded correctly to submit for enforcement. I talked to Miss Dent approximately three times over the phone and she told me it should be a simple fix to get my modification worded correctly to get the arrears submitted and start taking it out of my payroll check weekly. She only had time to talk to me while I was paying her $900 retainer fee !! The rest of the time I called for updates on my case I would get the answering machine or occasionally her secretary would take a message. This went on for about a YEAR, until I finally told her secretary I need to see her in person because did absolutely NOTHING to help me with this simple modification enforcement. I have given up trying to call this lady because frankly I don't think she ever cared about me as a person or a client and obviously now I know her specialty is not family law. Like I said at the start of my review, if you have a family law issue and you need real help with a real family lawyer, DON'T waste your TIME or your MONEY with this lady !!!!!!! Thank you for your time

This attorney was never in the office. Always out of town. His secretary never could answer simple questions, Not very friendly! Never received an itemized statement of what I had used on my retainer. I think he talked too much about things not to relevant to my case. Using up my retainer. In the end, he insulted me personally!!!!!!!! Never went back to his office!

Working on my case was an extremely lengthy (and thus more costly) process that only seemed to be moved forward when I called or showed up in person. It was difficult to reach him to voice my concerns. Once the case (an appeal) was filed in the courts, he would have nothing more to do with me and said so to me, I believe he could have checked on the progression of my case in the courts. He did not do so. I certainly would NOT recommend R: Michael Appell (especial if you are a woman) for your legal needs.

The fact this business is supported through extortion and unlawful acts that are considered crimes because they are at work forcing people to pay their way through life so they don’t have to actually work is a complete crime against our gos given rights. Don’t pay but make sure to send notarized and certified mail asking why they think it’s okay to take our god given rights away so they don’t have to actually work. Ask them why they think it’s okay to enslave us through policies and take the rights gave you away. Supreme law of the land already determined this business is not conducting itself in a manner that states our children are not the beneficiary as they should be. We are the beneficiaries and they are the trustees.

Mr. Philip Mullin was legally retained and paid $21K to represent myself and my family. However, the day before our trial, Mr. Mullin advised us that he failed to file any motions on my family’s behalf and, as a result, we lost our case on a technicality. In other words, since Mullin missed the court's deadline to file his legal documents on my family’s behalf, we lost automatically and never had the opportunity to present our case to the presiding judge.. Afterwards, I discussed a reasonable refund with Mr. Mullin, but he laughed at me and told me, “No way, I'm giving you a dime back!" And also stated, "I’m sorry, but time just got away from me.” This was my family’s experience with attorney Philip Mullin of El Paso, Texas. Beware.

I first used Mr. Mullin as my divorce lawyer 12 years ago. He went against a State Senator and did very well! I chose to retain Mr. Mullin on a yearly basis regardless if I needed him. He is a very good lawyer. He has assisted my family and has continued to fight for my children when any issues would arise. Mr. Mullin assisted me greatly when I had issues with my former employer. He was very well prepared, and won our case which was quite lengthy. It was not an easy case, but he was very knowledgeable in the area of labor laws. Mr. Mullin reassured me that everything would be fine and he was right. He is a very professional and well versed lawyer with many years of experience. His small family law firm went head to head against one of the biggest law firms in El Paso, and has won! It took several months, but beleive me Mr. Mullin knows what he is doing. He recently completed a child support issue, and although it takes him a little bit to get around, he managed to recover quite a bit child support due to an increase. Once again Mr. Mullin went against a large law firm in San Antonio and was very successful. Mr. Mullin has instilled hope to both of my children (who are now young adults) and in me. The bottom line is that he cares about his clients. I know that I have used Mr. Mullins services many times and I truly appreciate his fighting for justice! Thank you Mr. Mullin and Azalea for all that you have done for my family over the years. We are grateful.

This lawyer continuously calls people from other States that have nothing to do with current court cases and harasses them. Calls them 9 to 10 times in a row without leaving a message behind for no reason whatsoever. The people he calls has nothing to do with the case whatsoever. Does not communicate With anybody until the day you see him in court. Do you only lawyer I have ever met that harasses people that have nothing to do with the case whatsoever just out of pure spite . He needs to retire hes way too old to be practicing law, and when he was in the court-room outside waiting to be let in he continually asked other lawyers for law advice. He needs to Be fired and needs a wheelchair because he can barely walk let alone practice law.

My husband and I hired Mr. Lombardino 2/2009 because during our initial interview we thought he was the sharp and knowledgeable attorney that we needed to handle a custody, child support and contempt issues. We did notice that Mr. Lombardino only had 1 full time assistant and 2 part time law students working in his office. Since Mr. Lombardino has worked our case he has filed incorrect pleadings, was late for a court date, which had to be re-scheduled because of his tardiness and he still charged us for his time, & does not return phone calls or keep appointments. This attorney will take your money but will not give you proper customer service. After expressing my concerns to his assistant, she simply stated that if we are not satisfied then we should fire Mr. Lombardino. I would not recommend this attorney to anyone.

She guaranteed me she could get me a TRO and Injunction made me pay her $500.00 in cash. In less than an hour of taking my money, the Judge denied request for TRO. When I asked for my money back she said NO. I asked if I could at least get half of it back and she said NO! The disturbing part is she did absolutely NOTHING for the money. She didn't type up the request for TRO & Injunction. She didn't file it. And knowing the Judge would require the opposing side be contacted, she didn't even bother to do that. I sat in the hall and contacted them myself. When in front of the Judge, she pretty much didn't open her mouth nor did she fight for the TRO. This woman is the most unprofessional person I have EVER WORKED WITH. Also, she works with a known felon who gets the work for her.

Retained Kenneth Royce Barrett after the initial consultation to ensure it was understood in that the rodent infestation I was dealing with inside apartment dwelling was clearly conveyed to property management; however, property management ignored the problem and failed to provide exterminating services despite monthly reminders for six months after infestation compounded exponentially. Served with eviction notice, sought an attorney and foolishly relied on the Peer Review provided to this attorney during selection process. Suddenly, Barrett increased retainer from $450/2 hours to $1,000/4 hours. After retainer was remitted, he immediately came back to me concerned in that level of case perceived difficulty had increased though no changes resulted to warrant any concerns for any increases in case perceived difficulties. This implied Barrett was forewarning of the potential need for additional funding. I decided to instead to negotiate an Exit Strategy with property management myself and did given I’d already relinquished $1.0K to Barrett for essentially no reason. Informed Barrett who then advised to not let property know of move out intentions in writing. Then he became unreachable. Three weeks later I requested my residual retainer be refunded on two different days before he responded with having had Covid and was behind on record keeping tasks but would resolve following week. This did NOT happen. Four months later I contact him again to learn he’s suffered another bout with Covid and remains behind on work tasks. He then tells me he advised me to remain in my previous apartment. Another lie. So I investigate to learn he has a reputation for being dishonest. Another month passes, seven months after initial retainer paid, request formal contact information for litigation purposes and receive nothing. As 100% Disabled American Veteran unable to work, trusting this person created a financial hardship I continue to struggle with present day given the unexpected relocation expenses and non-refunded retainer in part or in whole.

Mr. McKamie was hired by my aunt in 2008 to assist with modifying the beneficiaries for a Trust. He sent letters to each of the beneficiaries requesting their information (i.e. Social Security #s). My aunt passed away in December 2013. Mr. McKamie actually attended her funeral. As POA for one of the named beneficiaries, I called Mr. McKamie to inquire about the trust and he was very dismissive and informed me that he didn't recall anything because it was so long ago. I actually had to ask him if he could simply take a look in his file to which he replied that if he had anything it would probably be in archives and that he would have to be retained for $700 to go look for it. In my experiences working with attorneys in the past, I have never come across an attorney who has been so uncooperative for no known reason. Now the heirs of the estate will have to go through the grueling process of requesting a subpoena to obtain the file. I'm certain this is not what my aunt expected when she hired Mr. McKamie to take care of these details.

We hired her and she placed her co-attorney Catherine C. Rowsey on the case charging both $600/hr. What became of the matter was nothing. We paid them and they DID NOTHING AND LIED. International "legal giant" Holland Knight has continuously refused to provide my legal files while abetting Alex "Sandy Hook" Jones's ongoing conspiracy with their former law partner Eric Taube whom they continued to advertise as a "trusted advisor" while having transcripts of Taube's inconsistent sworn statements/perjury in the hearing on my Motion to Disqualify in in U.S. Bankruptcy Court (Tex. W. D. Bank. 20-10118) when he appeared directly adverse to my interests (while concurrently representing me in ravis Co. TX Case No. D-1-GN-07-000618), which he directly countermanded when impeached in Travis Co. TX Case No. D-1-GN-18-001610, admitting that he did represent me. This fraud is not just bad for me, but it involves property that Taube conspiratorially formed in breaches of duty to me and to the entities he advised me to form, one of which he represented (without waiver or disclosure of conflict of interest (Free Speech Systems, LLC)) with Alex Jones, David Jones, and Carol Jones, whose tortious interference, fiduciary breaches, fraudulent transfers and fraud have been ongoing for over ten years. Holland Knight is based in the UK and its intentional bad acts of its and its Deputy Counsel's actual knowledge are contributory to alleged ongoing bankruptcy fraud in Tex. S. D. Bank. 22-33543. Contact me, FBI, DOJ, - Kelly Morales P/K/A Kelly Jones. I would not say these things about a massive international law firm if I could not prove it (very easily). Texas AG, Holland Knight has abetted the alleged falsification of government documents of its knowledge and fraud on the US Bankruptcy Court. Please contact me and please pursue all necessary temporary and permanent iinjunctive relieve to protect Texans from Holland Knight. The property that has been continuously defrauded of me and of the entities in which I hold interest has constituted hundreds of millions of dollars made without authority by copyright and trademark infringement, at best (and alleged copyright counterfeit, among other things.)

I had the opportunity to meet Mr.Gaston who was handling a criminal case for my cousin. Not only has my cousin been incarcerated in the Harris County Jail since November of 2011, but not one motion has been filed in the court. Attorney Gaston has reset my cousin's case 7 times with no empathy of her two small children she has left behind. When asked about the case attorney Gaston's response was "Are you paying me", otherwise I have no reason to tell you anything when in actuallity he has already been paid in full. The demeanor of this attorney and his arrogance had me livid because he was speaking to me like I wasn't being calm with him. I explained to him that he would be reported for his behavior. This is not what you hire an attorney to do no evidence to support the claim has been provided by the prosecution, and yet he continues to reset this clearly is not an attorney that has his client's best interest or her children's best interests at heart.

We were sent to Kathy through our employer at a discounted rate and Kathy treated us like we were discounted customers. I'd say representing us in mediation was an overstatement. She rushed us through mediation because she had another client and our wishes for the updated order were inaccurate due to her rushing. When we emailed her to follow up on anything, she was like a robot that would just forward our email to the other lawyer. She didn't put any thought or effort into anything. She just forwarded emails between the people involved but never stood up for us when the other lawyer was incorrect. She was late on meeting the deadline for submitting our new order for child support and we were left to take the money out of our checks ourselves, instead of it coming from our employer properly and no one could agree on the correct amount we would owe. We submitted money to the other parent through our bank per the lawyers orders and 6 months later we were in trouble with the attorney general saying we never paid. They wouldn't even accept the payment. Our lawyer Kathy said we wouldn't even owe because they missed the deadline with submitting the be order but that wasn't true. We paid anyway and then it didn't even count. Then we owed more money. All because she didn't do her job. That and when we emailed her after mediation she told us we would owe more money to retain her to keep working with her. When she didn't even finish the job and we were now fighting over money owed because the lawyers missed the damn deadline!! She's the worst. Never ever ever hire her. She seems okay until you pay her and she deems her job over. She doesn't care at all.

I understand that she is using her mother's coat tail to establish her clients, but I was very disappointed that I could not get thru past the receptionist. I paid the consultation fee, only to find out what I already knew. Fees are extremely expensive. Comparing this to a really good pair of leather shoes. You know they are good, and will last a long time, but then you see the same pair with a label and you end up paying five times more. If you have the money upfront they will talk to you, but you might be stuck with a pair of over priced leather shoes that pinch more than just your pocket. I was ready to hire the team, but I could not talk to anybody without money. I wanted to pay another $1000, and even then I couldn't speak to anybody. I knew that I wasn't going to be guaranteed a win win case, but I needed answers to some of my painful needs. My desperate actions led me to a different attorney who did answer all my questions. I lost my $250.00 consulting fee.

What a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Can Do for You

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer, often referred to as a litigation lawyer, specializes in handling legal conflicts between individuals, businesses, or organizations. These lawyers represent clients in civil lawsuits, helping to resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation in court. They can assist with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, property disputes, business conflicts, personal injury claims, and more.

If you are involved in a legal conflict and need representation, a dispute lawyer can guide you through the litigation process - from filing or defending against a lawsuit to negotiating settlements or representing you at trial.

When Should I Hire a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer when you're involved in a legal disagreement that cannot be resolved informally and may require legal action. Common reasons to hire a lawyer include:

  • Breach of contract: If someone has failed to fulfill the terms of a contract, a lawyer can help you file a lawsuit to seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Whether it's a partnership disagreement, shareholder conflict, or a dispute with a supplier or customer, a lawyer can help resolve business-related issues.
  • Property disputes: If you're involved in a dispute over property ownership, boundary issues, or landlord-tenant conflicts, a lawyer can assist in resolving the matter.
  • Personal injury claims: If you were injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a lawyer can represent you in a personal injury lawsuit.
  • Debt collection or defense: If you're being sued for unpaid debts or need to collect a debt owed to you, a lawyer can represent you in court or negotiate settlements.
  • Employment disputes: If you're involved in an employment-related dispute, such as wrongful termination or discrimination, a lawyer can help you file a claim and represent you in court.
  • Defending against a lawsuit: If you've been sued, a lawyer can defend you against the claims, challenge the evidence, and negotiate a settlement or represent you at trial.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help ensure that your case is properly managed and that your rights are protected throughout the dispute resolution process.

What Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Do?

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer provides a wide range of services to help clients navigate legal conflicts and seek resolution. Their tasks typically include:

  • Evaluating your case: Reviewing the facts and evidence to determine the strength of your case or defense and advising you on the best course of action.
  • Filing lawsuits or responding to lawsuits: If you're the plaintiff, the lawyer will file a lawsuit on your behalf. If you're the defendant, they will respond to the lawsuit and build a defense strategy.
  • Gathering evidence: Collecting and reviewing evidence such as contracts, emails, financial records, and witness statements to support your case.
  • Handling negotiations: Negotiating with the opposing party to reach a settlement before the case goes to trial, which can save time and money.
  • Representing you in court: Presenting your case in court if a settlement cannot be reached, including presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and making legal arguments on your behalf.
  • Exploring alternative dispute resolution (ADR): Suggesting mediation or arbitration as alternatives to a trial, which can be faster and less expensive.
  • Drafting legal documents: Preparing and filing necessary legal documents such as complaints, motions, and responses, as well as drafting settlement agreements if a resolution is reached.

How Are Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyers Paid?

The fee structure for lawsuit or dispute lawyers varies depending on the complexity of the case, the type of dispute, and the lawyer's experience. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Many lawsuit lawyers charge by the hour, especially for cases that require extensive preparation, research, and trial work. Hourly rates typically range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Contingency fee: In certain cases, such as personal injury or breach of contract claims, a lawyer may work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win the case, usually taking a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of the settlement or damages awarded.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as filing a simple lawsuit or representing you in mediation, some lawyers may charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: In complex cases or long-term litigation, a lawyer may ask for a retainer, which is an upfront payment to secure their services. The lawyer will then bill against the retainer as they work on the case.

Discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand how fees will be handled throughout the case.

How Much Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer's experience, and the fee structure they use. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Lawyers may charge between $150 and $500 per hour, with higher rates for more experienced attorneys or cases requiring extensive trial preparation.
  • Contingency fees: If your lawyer works on a contingency basis, expect them to take 25% to 40% of any settlement or court award. For example, if you win $100,000 and the contingency fee is 33%, the lawyer would receive $33,000.
  • Flat fees: For less complex disputes or tasks, such as drafting a settlement agreement or representing you in mediation, flat fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the scope of work.
  • Retainers: Some lawyers require an upfront retainer fee, which can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the case complexity and expected litigation length.

Make sure to ask for a detailed breakdown of fees during your consultation so you know what to expect.
