I received my Masters in Biotech from Northwestern University and I got STEM OPT denied by USCIS for unpaid intern work like many others in fall 2013. After talking to many attorneys nationwide, none of the lawyers was ready to bet on my case till I talked to Alexis. She was very positive, professional and friendly. While rest of the people were going with Attorneys more than 20 years of experience, I went with Alexis for my life defining case. I even remember that couple of attorneys said that I should leave US as I290B success rate is 2%.
We had just two weeks to file I290B when she started representing me. She had to learn all the technical aspects of my complex cancer research involving gold nanoparticles and cellular pathways, company profile, company history and all other technical details in that short time which is not easy. Apart from that Alexis went above and beyond and worked with other agencies and organization to best prepare my case within that short time frame. All her efforts worked out and I got my I290B approved right before Christmas and get my EAD today right before new year.
I don't have words to express my deepest gratitude to Alexis for everything she has done for me. It wasn't about money, it wasn't about anything else; she genuinely went all out for me. Kent is a wonderful lawyer.
I recently moved to Chicago for a new job and signed an agreement to purchase a property before moving (having just 1-2 weeks between positions). Kent came highly recommended so I emailed him requesting his service.
Thus, my initial interface with Kent was from another state, while working in medicine (horrible hours). Moreover, there were numerous unexpected complications related to mortgage delays, etc. Despite all this, Kent was able to represent me from afar with confidence. Andrew handled our first home purchase for me and my wife. His work was excellent, he walked us through every step of the way (we needed everything explained to us as we are first time home buyers). He was always available to us and extremely prompt with getting back to us ( I can't tell you how important that was for us being novices in this field). The whole process was nerve-wrecking since we had no experience whatsoever, but Andrew was able to calm everything down with his steady and professional manner. He found a few mistakes the sellers' attorney made before closing, as well as negotiated a repair credit from the sellers which was around $3000 more than what we expected!!!!

I had John as my lawyer in a hotly contested divorce proceeding which featured the withdrawal of the other side's lawyers during the case and the hiring of new ones midstream. John Malevitis guided the case through to a quite favorable settlement and conclusion for me. I have since hired him for various other business related matters. P.S. I asked John about the negative rating on Avvo received by a former client and I was advised of the client name, so I looked it up on the Court docket and found that in fact John had attended Court on her behalf about 30 plus times and that finally he had to withdraw when she was not cooperating with him and failed to attend Court as required. I don't understand how someone could publish these inaccuracies without first taking the time to look up the Court docket as I did!
