I write this review nearly 15 years after Steven saved my life. So I’ll be short and sweet.
When I think about Steven Sherlag I can’t help but look back and imagine “Billy Flynn”, the defense lawyer in the movie Chicago.
What I witnessed Steven do was both a blessing and magic to say the least. He is a good man with a pure moral compass.
I pray I never need his assistance again, but if I do, I pray he answers that call.
I have recommended him and would recommend his talent to anyone, family, friends, or strangers.

There is no way to adequately describe the help that Rick Okamura has been to me over the past two to three years. I brought to him a mess of an estate after leaving another attorney who had botched drawing up the will for an estate and trust that I was the personal representative and trustee for. There were many problems that came up during the handling of this estate. RIck Okamura was instrumental in walking me through them. He is a highly ethical, professional, and thorough. At the same time he was conscious of what I was going through personally in trying to deal with the issues and was sensitive to my concerns and lack of experience. I retained Matt for a slip & fall injury because the insurance company was not working with me. After Matt took my claim over I did not have to do anything. Matt did all the calling, negotiating, and because of his due diligence I received a larger settlement than I thought I was gonna receive. He was always there to answer my questions no matter how many times I called or email him. He was quick to send me an answer and if he didn't have one he found the answer ASAP. I retained Matt Rizzo twice for two auto accident claims. Matt's communication and service to his clients are second-to-none. He always kept me informed about my case. We met a few times before going into depositions and I really felt like he cared about me, my injuries and fighting for my compensation. He always had a plan. Because of Matt, I received a way larger settlement than I could've even imagined. The insurance company low-balled me and they're the ones who are supposed to care about you! I initially got in contact with Taylor for a consultation through my friend who had worked with him for her divorce . He gave me all of the information I needed to self-file. My ex avoided service and filed his own divorce papers in CA where he lives. So it all became very complicated. I came back to Taylor and hired him to help me navigate through it all. He could not give me any advice on CA, but he was very skilled at helping me know what to do to ensure jurisdiction for the case would be here in OR. I had lived here for 2 years with my 10 year old son. Taylor was able to successfully get jurisdiction changed to OR. My ex challenged it in CA, but we prevailed. This was an incredibly stressful and emotional experience for me that went on for almost 2 years. Taylor stuck through it all with me and was a calm and patient sounding board for my concerns and questions. He is a saint for all of the times he talked me off the edge and helped me through it all. Taylor,and his staff went above and beyond for our family this past year and a half. His compassion and understanding of family law made me feel confident that we had made the right choice in choosing our lawyer. What was supposed to be a fairly simple divorce modification,ended up being a lengthy process that resulted in a court hearing. Clayton Tullos gives one exactly what is needed in the courtroom...an experienced litigator who is quick thinking and a powerful advocate. I write this review with the status of my case still pending, but I wouldn't change it regardless of the outcome. Clayton did a skilled job passionately advocating for my daughter and her rights as a person in a difficult custody case. Clayton was willing to work with me on what I could afford, and was efficient in selecting relevant evidence and resources for trial. Most importantly, Clayton cared as a human being and this was evident in his argument. Clayton isn't the best layer for everyone, but he is a skilled litigator, was honest through the process, and he cared, which is the most one can ask for of an attorney. Highest recommendation.

Ryan Anfuso is incredible! He is the most attentive and professional attorney you could ask for. He is not a “Plea Bargainer”. He will fight for you, not just try to get you a plea offer.
I fired my first attorney for failing to prepare for trial and lack of communication. Within 3 months, Ryan did more for my defense than the 6 months my previous attorney had. Ryan has a great team and a vast amount of resources. He thinks ‘outside the box’ to develop the best strategy for your defense.

Wayne and his staff helped me come to a settlement agreement with an Insurance company that I had been working with on my own. Although the settlement was less then I felt was appropriate it was more then I had been able to negotiate on my own. In addition, Waynes fees were very fair and reasonable. Wayne Hawn was a fantastic attorney. I first met with Wayne in Portland, OR. He traveled up here from Bend, OR to meet me and discuss what happened. He was very caring and confident in my case, thus I hired him a few days later and began the process. I had been in Oregon for only a short time. By moving here I had already taken a pretty big pay cut which I was adjusting to, then the recession hit and my employer hit me with a salary reduction which amounted to about a third of my pay. I didn't know what to do, I had more money going out than coming in. I didn't have a problem paying my debts but just didn't know how to go about doing it without someone being very unhappy. I contacted Erik about Chapter 13. He was very helpful, put me at ease, answered all my questions, guided me thru the legal process that can be very confusing and nerve racking. I was hit by a drunk driver in Sunriver while on vacation. While I herniated a disc, I had a ton of preexisting conditions that complicated everything. I am a lawyer and thought I could handle this but when the insurance company rejected my $15,000 settlement demand, I called a defense lawyer I knew in Redmond for a recommendation and without hesitation recommended Tim. I hired him and he and his Assistant, Julie, took over everything. 6 months later I had my deposition (where I thought I did poorly) but a month later Tim had secured a $300,000 policy limits offer!! No IME. I did not have surgery. It was an absolutely wonderful result. The best I could have hoped for. Hire Tim. You want the best on your side.

My son was in some really questionable situations with his Dad. I found Rob quickly on google and made a panic call. He called me back, talked to me for an hour or so to get a feel for my case, and we set an appointment. I was immediately impressed by him. My case was tricky, but Rob calmed my anxious mind time and time again. He never made me feel like I was a burden. I never felt taken advantage of by him and he was sensitive to my financial situation. He went the extra mile by hiring outside help when needed, and we were able to keep my son out of further harms way. He was always honest with how certain situations might play out in court. First I need to say who I am to give what I have to say any value.
I am a Christian, Father, Marine Veteran, and a Nurse in my Mid 30's.
My mistake with Robert is that at first, I only used him for consultation when I should have had him represent me from the beginning . I thought I was smart and I could do this on my own. I was wrong and at the first court hearing it cost me both custody of my son and financially with child support.
After that I knew I needed to put it all on the table, barrow money, take out a loan. I did what ever it took to have Robert represent me and try to get my son back.
Two things need to be mentioned. First is you wont find cheaper out there for his 30 plus years skill set. Second is Robert is a lawyer, Not a banker.
When I say Not a banker, Robert had many opportunities to let things go in a direction that would of benefited him greatly with lawyer fees but he didn't.
Robert not only represented me, he also represented my financial well being. He directed my case so that most of the fees fell on opposing party. Luckily my ex hired a banker and not a lawyer and was happy to run up her charges.
Not only that, I kept a detailed log of all the text, email, phone calls, meetings etc I had with Robert and every time he well undercharged me.
A few times I wanted the case to go in a direction that I thought was best, I was wronged and I wanted justice. Robert respectfully advised that some things will cost you more than they are worth. Once again looking out for my well being when I was blinded by hurt and could not see a clear path.
Robert is reliable, accurate, and fast. Every time Robert had gotten back to me within the Hour or at the most same day. He also knows how to put the pressure on opposing party and get results fast.
At the end of my case. Robert not only got me my son back, I got everything and didn't have to pay child support. Way more than I thought that I would get.
I told him that his Humanity was greater than many than I have seen in my life so far and this is true when someone takes less and does more to help a complete stranger.
And what really impressed me was that not only did he help my case in the moment, he made sure that the agreed ruling would protect my son and I for the future. That's why I say Robert does not just represent you, he represents your well being.
There are not words that I could say or write that could show how grateful I am that you helped get my son back.

Bryan was the second attorney I met with to discuss my options. I was getting married and moving in with my husband and needed to get rid of my underwater condo. I showed up to my first meeting with Bryan, assuming foreclosure was my only option, since the first lawyer I met with told me I wouldn't qualify for a short sale. Bryan disagreed with the first lawyer and explained why, including his experience closing short sales with the same bank that held my loan.
Bryan is also a real estate broker, so I didn't have to worry about getting my condo on the market myself. Bryan stopped by to take pictures of my condo and it was listed for sale online that day. We had an offer in 2 days.
Fast forward three months, my condo is sold, and I am not responsible for the $50,000 deficiency. I found this attorney to be extremely knowledgeable in her specific area of expertise, i.e. condo law, in addition to being extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the general practice of law.
She was also very responsive as I was always able to reach her when needed to discuss various aspects of the case. and she kept me totally informed at all times.
She listened to what I had to say about the case and we had a very co-operative and mutual exchange of ideas as, unlike many other attorneys with whom i have worked with, she realized that the client knows more about his or her case than anyone else; and ,therefore is someone whom the attorney should listen to.
I was extraordinarily impressed with her knowledge of all of the facts of the case and the law and her willingness to "dig" for all of the pertinent facts and law.
One aspect of her handling of the case that most impressed me was her willingness to go the extra mile and learn about other matters that were going to have an impact on the case. She did whatever it took to make certain that we would prevail.
She was unquestionably willing to stand up for my rights in the most difficult of circumstances when many another lawyer would have backed off. But she also knew when to compromise and work with the opposition at the right time to amicable settle the case. In other words, her judgment skills were impeccable--- something that is not taught in law school and that is lacked by many an attorney.
Finally, although not really of any consequence when compared with making certain one wins and everything else that is involved with litigation, she was very reasonable with her legal fees.
I was extraordinarily impressed with this attorney on all levels and would very highly recommend her to anyone.

I presented Doug with a truly horrifying family/real estate case. I had no idea of how to find a reputable attorney so I went on the Internet, was very impressed with his reviews and contacted him. He promptly arranged a meeting at which we thoroughly discussed all aspects of the case at that point as well as his fee structure. I was in a relatively unique situation involving a car accident and was being held financially responsible, although I didn't believe I was solely at fault. I wasn't sure if it was even worth trying to fight. During the initial consultation, Mr. Leonard did a great job of listening, asking the right questions, and informing me of all of the possible outcomes. He was also clear about what his approach would be, and I left feeling like I had a clear idea of how he was planning to proceed.
I decided to hope for the best and hired him to handle the case. He kept me up to date on the progress of the case and did a great job communicating with me throughout the process.

Who says that lawyers can't be good people?
The first time I hired Scott was for a traffic infraction that I didn't have time to deal with. He did a great job of keeping me updated and keeping me from having to be bothered at all by the process.
The next time I called him, was for an auto accident where the claim process was dragged out by the other person's insurance company forever. Mr Leonard again kept me in the loop without letting anyone involved bother me about any of it.

Tom represented me after a bad car accident. I had injuries that required surgery and several months of physical therapy, and was also in the process of moving and starting a new job when the accident happened. Tom served as a kind and patient adviser during a stressful time.
When my medical insurance repeatedly billed me in error for treatment related to the accident, Tom's firm was able to resolve the issue and get my insurance to bill my PIP plan instead.
He negotiated the best possible injury settlement in my case in spite of low policy limits. The driver who caused the accident was covered by a notoriously cheap and difficult insurance company, and I doubt I would have received a settlement without a persistent and competent lawyer.
Tom was respectful of my priorities, in particular making sure that my settlement agreement was not harmful to the passengers in my car, who were close friends of mine who were pursing their own settlement from the at-fault driver's insurance.
Because of the policy limits involved in my case, it was never going to make a lot of money for Tom's firm, but they still provided me with excellent and thorough representation.

Before I met Matthew Holland, I probably had one of the most confusing and sloppy divorce cases due to a crazy ex-wife that wanted money, to see me suffer, and take away my son. Matthew was my 4th and final lawyer on this extremely difficult case. I have learned, when one is in a litigation battle, it is necessary that you have all facets in a lawyer and law office. It is extremely difficult to find an attorney that knows the law in and out. Mr. Holland is accurate, thorough, fast at filing paperwork, and can dominate in the courtroom if the case is forced to trial. This guy did it all. Matt won an extremely difficult case and dug me out of a MASSIVE hole when I met him. He gave me my son back and my life. In addition to gaining my time with my son, Matt saved me from what could have been a substantial debt. It was super impressive to watch him work at his craft. He is an immense asset at Donahue law Firm in Bend Oregon. I owe a great thanks to Matthew Holland and his incredible paralegal Annalee Hoagland. I feel very fortunate to have come upon Matt Holland. I presented him with a complex employment contract with a medical group and hospital (25 pages worth of legalese), and he went through them point-by-point with me the very next day. He explained everything clearly, pointed out the 'draconian' parts, and reassured me that as a whole it was a fair contract. He charged less than average and yet I am sure my contract was reviewed with more care and close attention than it would have been at some big law place. Plus Matt was flexible about timing, and was willing to review the contract with me partly over the phone and partly at his office, even though it was late in the day. I looked him up on Yelp, and read his philosophy about law, and I must say, I am impressed by his professionalism and purpose. It's not every day you meet a lawyer who genuinely believes in the law and uses his training for good. This is not your stereotypical greedy or smarmy lawyer; this is a good guy. I hope I don't need an attorney in future, but if I do, I most certainly will return to Holland Law.
