Louis Wooten is an accomplished attorney but I'm not rating him 5 stars for services he rendered. I'm rating him 5 stars because he helped me resolve a NCDOR tax issue without taking a dollar from me. Instead of taking me on as a client he encouraged me to resolve this issue on my own, because it would likely be fairly straightforward to demonstrate to the NCDOR that I wasn't required to file a return during the year in question. He explained precisely how to convey this to the NCDOR auditor and I'm pleased to confirm that my purported tax liability was written down to $0 not long thereafter.

A few months ago I received a very disturbing and aggressive letter from the IRS. They denied an earlier extensive deduction

In 2014 my wife and I were involved in a serious car accident caused by an inattentive driver that veered over the double yellow line and collided with us head on. Chris gave us the peace of mind and kind of attention only a small personal law firm is capable of. He and his secretary kept us informed at every step of the way and were meticulous in the collection of all the necessary documents that were needed. They even went so far as to personally find and collect medical bills that we were unable to gather.. At no time did we feel pressure to settle and he went over and above to make sure we were happy with the settlement that was negotiated. I would not hesitate using him again. His firm is the polar opposite of the impersonal nature of those mega firms where you are just a number. No regrets here.

I was referred to Eldreth Law Firm by the NC Bar Association and I felt that the attorney answered everything they could during my initial consultation on a real estate matter (instead of trying to draw more money out of me). I later retained them for a related matter and Attorney Eldreth did a ton of work looking into the specifics of my case. It turned out that I wasn't likely to prevail. Instead of generating billable hours on futile actions, they were straightforward with the news and even refunded my initial retainer. I appreciate that they took my case seriously and I appreciate their integrity when they discovered it probably wasn't going to end in my favor. Horrible copyright lawyer. Said he copyrighted my work didn’t even copyright the work correctly after speaking with copyright office now after 9 years of working so hard on my idea it got stolen from me and nothing I can do about it AFTER I was told it was protected! He straight up abandoned me never emailed me back or called I would definitely NOT recommend if you want to get your idea copyrighted.
