Adam is a knowledgeable, caring, and very capable attorney, as well as a nice gentleman. He helped our family feel at ease with a difficult and frightening legal process, guided us through the wilderness of court hearings and procedures, and ultimately got us back on track with the best possible outcome for our situation. You will be in good hands with Adam.

Adam is by far the most competent attorney I have ever retained. His compassion for my daughter and her situation was exemplary. I had low expectations as to what the outcome of this case was going to be, Adam changed that. This family is grateful for Adam and his firm. I highly recommend Komisar - Spicola P.A.

I couldn’t be happier with the elite service Mr. Willard and April provided. They were a great help and provided me with the best outcome possible. Matt is incredibly personable and very intelligent in the way he approached my situation. Mind you my situation was incredibly minuscule and he had much more important cases to tend to however he treated me as if I was a high priority case. No matter the severity of your case I highly recommend Matt and April.

The father of my child is demanding mediation through this firm, & just this morning, I've been sent 5 or 6 conflicting emails on whether our meeting is going to be via Zoom or in person. I've also received conflicting dates twice, & have all but been spammed by an administrative team that either doesn't communicate with one another or just doesn't have their affairs in order internally. I would never chose to work with this office on my own. Extremely displeased with the obvious breakdown in communication & I haven't even met with them yet. Would give 0 stars if it were an option. Your office only deals with matters of the utmost importance... this is entirely inexcusable & unprofessional.

The entire staff at Max Factor were always very welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the very first time I visited their office. Mr. Factor explained everything and ensured I was aware of what to expect every step of the way. I don’t believe I could find another lawyer who is more level headed, logical, and able to be my champion through the divorce I was unfortunate enough to go through. If you want an honest, trustworthy, and well connected lawyer to represent you in a divorce, look no further than Max Factor Law.

Unfortunately i cannot report such an experience that others here report. I originally saw this office and its google rating and had high hopes to only be taken through a nightmare. I unfortunately was paired up with the "Associate" and not Gary Roberts -- perhaps that's where the issues lie. The attorney i was paired with was Tiffani Brown. After being assigned with this attorney i looked her up and saw that the area of my issue (HOA law) is basically her bread and butter. Having said that, this was far from the case as i had to constantly push her and Rebecca (whom was actually very nice the few times i talked to her on the phone). This issue with started with this attorney around the middle of July and is still not resolved to this day. I constantly had to call the office and ask about statuses and push them to act on things that were seemingly just sitting around. I had time-sensitive situations that Tiffani had no concern for. Another situation where i had requested for documents from HOA where after 10 business days i would be owed a minimum $50\day and she had no idea what i was talking about when i mentioned this, that this was even relevant to the situation, and when mentioned told me that she would essentially have to go look into it if it's even relevant or pertains to the situation -- it's cut and dry, and laid out in F.S 720 that if i request documents (meeting minutes) that i am owed those docs within 10 business days; it was going on 20! She had no urgency to push back on opposing counsel, AT ALL. I had to push her to do everything, feeding her Florida Statutes and Case Law all to no avail. I basically was doing all of the work, having to convince my own lawyer that is being paid by me, and also having to educate her on her own job, duty, and angles to approach. After finally having enough, i told her i would like to separate so that i can find another attorney that is actually going to advocate on my behalf and she sends me the most unprofessional separation\termination letter I've ever seen. it was essentially blaming me for everything and trying to make it seem as though my position is entirely unreasonable. Keep in mind, my position is that i am being denied the right to repair my driveway by my HOA's ARC committee for no reason what so ever but for unreasonable, seemingly retaliatory purposes. The HOA at the time was comprised of 3 people, it's since reduced from that due to this nonsense and the HOA president has gone to neighbor's within the community coercing them into signing paperwork to pass additional ARC requests despite not having actual ARC committee meetings or board quorum. I presume Gary is more professional and capable as i have not had the pleasure to work with him and reviews here seem to give praise, but Tiffani Brown is the one to avoid.

As of June/ July 2020- So far, so good. I was recommended to him by a colleague. Others suggested that I go with a "well-known" law firm since their reputation is better ( tv commercials, reviews, more cases, etc). My experience so far: He's personable, responds to emails and questions that may arise in a timely manner. He seems genuine. However, I will provide an update as my personal injury case (rear-ended by a habitual drunk driver who attempted to flee the scene and was arrested/ bodily injury/ etc.) moves forward as i was advised that the details are in the insurance of both parties. I'm thankful for my life which is priceless and precious, but I pray that he is able to use his 25+ years of experience to reach the maximum compensation. ***I will provide an update which is why I rated 3 stars at this time.

My experience with this law firm was not the best. It started out rather smooth and then made a huge turn towards the end. My case was drawn out over five years when it could have been much less. Let me start by first addressing the customer service from most of the individuals who answer the phone. They have no phone etiquette when you call the office. It seems as if they are bothered or don't have the time to deal with anyone. I have encountered rudeness on several occasions which sets the tone for what this firm is all about. The people who answer the phones are not educated on general questions, you never get any help or answers and your always transferred so quickly or asked to leave a message. Secondly, the lack of communication this office has is diabolical. After sitting and waiting almost 4 years for any movement on my case, I begin to receive calls and emails from random people I never spoke to before requesting that I come to meetings with short notice. My time was not taken into consideration at all. I mean asking that someone attend a deposition or an online meeting one day before is unreasonable without advance notice or proper preparation. You will never speak to Ms. Mattox at all I gather that the firm is only named after her, I spoke to her one time on a 3 way call at the very end stage of my case for about five minutes. My case was passed over to multiple people throughout the entire process I was so confused and was never given any clarity as to who was actually handling my case until the very end. I was not given full and complete honesty about some information, I was told one thing and received the opposite. This firm has showed me that they are concerned with their own satisfaction instead of the clients. Without going into any specific details regarding my case I will say that I feel that the five years I wasted and waited for a resolution and outcome was totally unnecessary and those who handled my case know exactly what I am talking about. This review is more so for the potential clients of this firm. I would encourage you to ask as many questions as you can from the beginning and stay knowledgeable about your case to avoid what I went through.

The experience for me was horrible. They do send you a letter in the beginning explaining you will go long times with no communication, that's an understatement! I never even meet the attorney assigned to my case. Never had a one on one discussion with anyone. Took over 4years to resolve, can't blame that all on covid! The process is confusing, the receptionist is rude, and it always felt like I was bothering them when I would call and try to get updates. Very disappointing from start to finish. Once settled took forever for payout, and understand the 40% percent the firm gets comes off the top not after fees are paid, you may not realize it but it makes a difference in what you end up with!!

Mr Arrowood helped a family member. From the first phone call made, in which he spoke with her and told her if he could help or not, to the final court case he did nothing but help. He was not just out for money and saved her money. He was very upfront and honest about the "what could happen". I was very impressed by him and would certainly recommend him.

I cannot say enough good things about Jeff Arrowood. I'm involved in a ridiculous family law case and he gives consistently strong, logical, clear advice and has carried me through several victories, big and small, against a very difficult opposing side. He also watches out for my billing, suggesting cost-effective ways for getting things done, while providing sound advice. It's to the point where I take his advice almost without question. He's smart, low-drama, takes no sh**, and knows what he's doing. Very highly recommended. You're in good hands with this guy.

We hired this lawyer to help us protect our mother from an abusive temporary guardianship. She said she knew a few judges and could easily come against the opposition and get us in court quickly to overturn the injustice. She took our retainer and did nothing except ridicule us in emails with another attorney who had referred us. Isn't that a breach of client/attorney privilege? We researched Florida laws that had been broken, sent her case law, sent her legal questions, sent character references and statements from witnesses, all to no avail. She ignored all our efforts to assist her in the case. Instead she told us she talked for an hour with the opposing attorney and then began to make threats as if she was voicing the other side's attacks against us, accusing us of lying and disobeying her instructions. When asked which instructions she was referring to she could not produce any. It was devastating. She did more harm than good. She did not care that my mother was being injured, in danger and this was a life or death situation. She had absolutely no empathy for me or my mother's pain and life-threatening situation. She went on vacation twice and accomplished absolutely nothing!

What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
