We are a small business that has used Eric for a number of matters: employee handbook/contracts; contracts between the partners; client issues. He always responds promptly and thoroughly. His rates are reasonable and I never feel as though there is a clock ticking every time I call or send an email.

I put a residential house up for sale in September. An offer was made but the realtor prepared a disclosure that did not accurately reflect the sale offer. The purchaser refused to allow a correction. John worked through the problem with the real estate company and kept me fully informed of each position and issue. After a few weeks, and some intense negotiations, the real estate company made an acceptable offer to resolve the issue. John was completely professional at every step, and very firm in demanding a fair resolution. He was clearly on top of the legal issues involved and I felt I was extremely well represented. I would choose John again for any litigation or negotiation should I need legal advice or formal representation.

John, Handled a dispute with my neighbors perfectly!!! He recommended we try mediation, when I was ready to go to court. Given his great advice, I am hopeful over time I may have a relationship with all my neighbors, rather than frustration and anxiety every time I see them. I feel good moving forward. I would HIGHLY recommend John to anyone. He is the BEST!

John handled a difficult case for me, came up with innovative solutions, and really knows how to "think outside the box". My step-father, who recently retired as a Dean at Loyolla Law School, was equally impressed with Mr. Nelson. I was happy with the outcome of my case, and then Mr. Nelson gave me a REFUND! He had not used all of my retainer, so he wrote ME a check!! Unbelievable! I'll never tell another lawyer joke again!! Exodus 20:16 Jackie

Me and my family hired Zach for our case that had been at a standstill from a previous law firm. He made efforts to meet with my entire family in person and made sure to address each of our individual concerns. With Zach, me and my family were quickly able to close our case that had been hanging over our heads for years. He fought to get us the most money possible, and succeeded! Zach is very personable and I would recommend him to anyone!

Firstly when meeting over the phone he was very kind and gave me a run down of not just where we were at in my case and where it could go but him as a person. Told me a little about his history with being a lawyer and about his family. He makes you feel extremely comfortable and calm. I had some hesitation when he was assigned to my case because he was new but that was quickly calmed after speaking to him and seeing how he approached things. This guy knows what he’s doing! He’s not new to this but had been new to the dui hero’s team and he’s a wonderful fit! He kept me very updated and covered all bases legally and also on my character. My case was a bit complicated and not the norm and he managed to get me no jail time and I was able to stay home with my new baby. Keep in mind this is after being told from other lawyers it wouldn’t be possible. With the extra work and time he put in he made it happen! Me an my family are very greatful for Christopher Wong. At the time of court he came extremely prepared and on time as it was hours away. He stayed with me the entire time even after to figure out payments or whatever was next he walked through everything with us. During the wait we were nervous and he was able to calm that with a very warm smile and humor. I have ADHD and often overwhelm myself in stressful situations and with him calmly by my side I was able to make it through and even read my letter to the judge. I can’t thank him enough. It felt more like a friend with you then some of the other lawyers that can feel a bit cold. Everything is done at your pace and zero judgement. HIGHLY recommend!!! Thanks again!

I was in a hit-and-run accident which has left me with permanent injuries. Managing my pain requires daily medication and additional medical treatment. I did not have PIP; fortunately, I did have UIM. I was thankfully able to receive the maximum amount of UIM coverage available from the insurance company. Jeffery intently listened to me and captured my concerns. After receiving the demand letter that he drafted on my behalf, the insurance company tendered the policy limits. They also paid to repair my vehicle, which was a high amount due to the extensive damage. Everything was settled out of court. I am so grateful for Jeffery's diligence and attentiveness. If I ever need representation again, I will be sure to retain him once more. He was a pleasure to work with and was always so respectful. I highly recommend this attorney.

I was represented at all times by professionals. Many times I entered the court room surrounded by a team of four men, each experts in their field. Each and every person on his team was knowledgeable and available at all times. From the day I first stepped into his office until the wire transfers were put in my account I knew I was represented by the best! I highly recommend Robert Adolph and his team to anyone who wants and demands representation of the highest quality.

I have known Bob since the early 1990's when I came in contact with him through his representation of a mutual client. Later, in a very complex and protrated high-profile contract dispute, I chose him to represent me personally for three major reasons: First, I had seen him in action and was impressed with his skills as a trial lawyer, Second, he was recommended by a friend that I trusted, and Finally, I had observed that he headed a botique firm where the partners did the work, not a phalanx of associates. That made their efforts, in my view, more efficient and effective. I also knew that they won their cases. My original assessment of Mr. Adolph as a trial lawyer was not only confirmed but amplified by the outcome of our litigation. Clearly, in a crowded room of lawyers, he stood out. He is the best trial attorney I have encountered and it stems from the fact that he stays engaged and alert. He’s smart, knows the facts, strengths and weaknesses of the case and is relentless in pursuing a winning strategy. I would unequivocally endorse him and will hire him again in any significant matter that I have.

I have never been in an actual courtroom or law office with this brilliant young attorney, but I was a classmate of hers in undergrad at Emory University in Atlanta, so I will still put in my two cents. Julia is kind, sweet, verbal, and articulate. She really knows her stuff. Most pre-law students do Political Science as an undergrad major, but her unique background of Middle Eastern Studies and Linguistics gives her SIGNIFICANT advantages both inside and outside of the courtroom. She always makes time for her family too and leads a well-balanced life. She is both intelligent and well-educated, but humble at the same time. Go Julia Delaney!!!

We hired Wade Neal to handle a licensing contract. It was apparent right away that he could translate "legalese" into language a lay person could understand. He was able to streamline the agreement, remove pitfalls, and negotiate on our behalf to reach an end that was acceptable. Legal matters can be scary and it is very important to have professional help. I am very happy that we worked with him and will certainly call upon him for help in the future.

We've handled plenty of contracts before and managed to keep from getting ourselves screwed but Neal was able to take a lot of tangled, convoluted copyright issues and streamline our agreement into something coherent and mutual. Most importantly for us, he was able to keep pace with the awkward and unpredictable timing that characterized our negotiations. He exposed the sort of risky nuances that allow you to appreciate the difference a law degree makes. Thoughtful, perceptive, and more timely that I thought we could expect, Looking ahead at our contract we needed a lawyer as a safety net - looking back I couldn't imagine our agreement without him.

Jerry kept me and my wife well informed every step of the way in an alleged sexual harassment case against me, and in doing so, made things easier for us in a situation that was both difficult and unfamiliar to us. His representation in court was respectful to all parties but he has a great talent for bringing out the truth in such a way that the jury could understand the facts and make an educated and informed decision in my favor. Even though these were difficult circumstances for us, it was a pleasure working with him and he would be my first choice in the event an occasion arose in the future in which I would need legal representation.

I can’t say enough good things about Jerry Moberg. Jerry took my case knowing that it involved complicated litigation and the possibility of a lengthy and emotional trial. His real and notable courtroom experience supported by his calm and professional presence in trial helped lead the way to a jury decision in my favor on all claims, as well as substantial judgment. Throughout the long and difficult process Jerry never wavered in providing cool and reasonable council on key issues, while maintaining a strong and inspirational presence during negotiations and in the courtroom. Jerry is a true legal warrior and his “fighting spirit” proved both admirable and invaluable in our hard earned victory. In fact, I consider Jerry’s representation a true privilege, while it is my honor to also call him a friend. Thank you Jerry!

I had several lawyers helping with a difficult divorce case that involved a lot of unprofessional conduct from opposing counsel which made an already unpleasant process much worse than it needed to be. When Mr Hunt joined the team it was abundantly clear that I was being looked out for legally, in de-escalating the situation, and by incredibly fair and conscientious billing. His legal expertise is excellent, plus he produced more work, more efficiently than anyone in the process. When he reviews/prepares documents there is no mistaking that he puts himself in the client’s position and cares as much as if he was looking out for his own family. Knowing someone you can trust has your back makes a world of difference. I am very glad I was given his name along with a stellar personal recommendation - expectations exceeded.

I have been working with Mr. Hunt for a couple of years now on a difficult child support case. I am so thankful to Mr. Hunt for his ardent work ethic in finding the truth and always being extremely professional. Mr. Hunt also helped my mother win her case which was a highly involved, difficult situation going up against a condominium association but he was able to prove there was corruption and my mother did not lose her home she has been in for over 20 years. We will always be so grateful to Mr. Hunt for his dedication and hard work. He has a very caring heart and strives to do the right thing. I have been able to recommend Mr. Hunt to a couple of friends and they too are very happy to be working with him.

I am a homeowner who was sued by a neighbor who filed a "spite" lawsuit against me. Joe successfully defended me against "over-the-top" allegations, by skillfully & methodically debunking the claims. He persistently unraveled the plaintiff's legal maneuvering to attempt to construct a case out of fabrications. To do that, Joe used thoughtful strategy in his presentation of the actual facts of the case, and continually maintained a low-key, articulate professionalism that was very effective. It was obvious in the courtroom that he was respected by the judges who heard various portions of the case. Joe has a high standard of principled ethics that enable him to provide excellent representation. This lawsuit dragged on for over 3 years, & yet my stress level was minimal because I was extremely confident of Joe's abilities to bring about a favorable resolution in my defense. He did not let me down. Another great thing about Joe, is that being the man of integrity he is, I KNOW he would have never chosen to represent the type of individual who sued me--no matter how much they would have been willing to pay him for the representation. Joe Diaz gets an A-plus in my review.

He was very informative and easy to work with. He researched issues having to do with water and drainage that pertained to our case. Did a great job during the trial. The jury even liked him.

When i met Ms. Speser, she was a Vista Fellow working for the Northwest Justice Project’s Foreclosure Prevention Unit. She changed my mind about lawyers as she tracked Ocwen's every twist and turn. In the final meeting with Ocwen, she cued me to let her and the other legal person she'd brought with her speak. She'd already learned how i can shoot off my mouth and she kept the meeting on target. When we left Ocwen's offices, i had a new, far more affordable and reasonable mortgage. I've tracked Ocwen's subsequent legal problems, so i know that Ms. Speser's work was much better than yeomanlike; it was simply superb. With many thanks to Ms. Speser, i continue to enjoy my home and my affordable mortgage.

We had a horrible case and Ms. Rodgers was hired around 2 weeks before the trial and she was the third lawyer on the case and I was skeptical of her intentions at first but after I had met her and finally had a chance to meet her and ask her several questions about the case I felt confident that she went above and beyond with the information and circumstances given.

I found Paul to be one of the more honest and upfront attorney's I've had the pleasure of working with personally and professionally throughout my 20 years as a Financial Professional in Seattle. He not only was able to settle my case (in my favor) with the Insurance Companies but he went above and beyond with the medical billing process, assisting me in navigating the convoluted process of our health care / billing systems.

I have worked with Mr. Schneiderman numerous times and I have always felt that not only does he conduct himself in a professional manner, he acts with the upmost integrity. There are attorneys who will take cases simply based on the revenue and not about "the right thing". This is not one of them. Mr. Schneiderman will work diligently on your behalf and give you the best possible legal advice.

What a Litigation Lawyer Can Do for You

A litigation lawyer specializes in representing individuals, businesses, or organizations involved in legal disputes. Whether you're the one filing a lawsuit or you're being sued, a litigation attorney will advocate on your behalf throughout the entire legal process. Their goal is to resolve disputes, either through negotiation, settlement, or trial. Litigation lawyers can help with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, real estate issues, employment disputes, personal injury claims, and more.

Litigation lawyers provide strategic legal advice and manage all aspects of your case, from filing motions to representing you in court, ensuring that your rights are protected and that you have the best chance of achieving a favorable outcome.

When Should I Hire a Litigation Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a litigation lawyer if you're involved in a legal dispute that you cannot resolve on your own. Common situations include:

  • Breach of contract disputes: If a party to a contract fails to fulfill their obligations, a litigation lawyer can help you seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Litigation lawyers can represent you in cases of partnership disagreements, intellectual property disputes, or business fraud.
  • Employment disputes: If you're facing issues like wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, or wage disputes, a litigation lawyer can help resolve these matters through negotiation or court action.
  • Personal injury claims: If you've been injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a litigation attorney can help you pursue your case.
  • Real estate or property disputes: When there are conflicts over property ownership, boundary issues, or lease agreements, a litigation lawyer can assist in resolving the dispute.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is beneficial, especially if a lawsuit seems imminent or you have already been served with legal documents.

What Does a Litigation Lawyer Do?

A litigation lawyer handles all aspects of your case, from the initial investigation to the trial and even the appeals process, if necessary. Their role includes:

  • Case assessment and investigation: Analyzing the facts of your case and advising whether it’s worth pursuing or defending.
  • Pleadings and motions: Drafting and filing documents to initiate or respond to a lawsuit, including complaints, motions to dismiss, and answers.
  • Discovery: Gathering evidence, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests, to build your case.
  • Negotiations and settlement discussions: Attempting to resolve disputes through mediation, arbitration, or settlement talks before going to trial.
  • Trial representation: Presenting your case in court, examining witnesses, introducing evidence, and making legal arguments before a judge or jury.
  • Appeals: If necessary, filing appeals to challenge or defend the outcome of the trial.

Litigation lawyers are also skilled negotiators and often work to resolve disputes outside of court to save time, money, and stress for their clients.

How Are Litigation Lawyers Paid?

Litigation lawyers typically use a variety of fee structures depending on the type of case, the complexity of the legal matter, and the financial circumstances of the client. Common payment arrangements include:

  • Hourly rates: Many litigation attorneys charge by the hour, with rates varying based on experience and geographic location.
  • Flat fees: For specific, predictable legal tasks (such as filing a motion), lawyers may offer a flat fee.
  • Contingency fees: In personal injury or other cases where you seek damages, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, taking a percentage of the settlement or award if you win.
  • Retainer: Some clients pay a retainer fee upfront to secure ongoing legal services. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as work is done.

The exact structure should be discussed in the initial consultation to ensure you understand how and when you'll be charged.

How Much Does a Litigation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of a litigation lawyer varies significantly depending on the nature of the dispute and the lawyer’s experience. Factors affecting the cost include:

  • The complexity of the case: More complex litigation involving extensive discovery, expert witnesses, or multi-party suits typically costs more.
  • Time spent: Litigation cases can be time-consuming, especially if they go to trial. The longer the case, the higher the legal fees.
  • Type of fee arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $200 to over $1,000 per hour, depending on the lawyer’s reputation and location. Contingency fees generally range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award.
  • Stage of litigation: Cases that settle early in the process are often less expensive than those that proceed to trial or appeal.

It’s crucial to ask about cost estimates during your initial consultation to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Litigation Lawyer

Before hiring a litigation lawyer, it's essential to ask key questions to ensure you're choosing the right representation:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Ensure that the lawyer has experience handling your specific type of dispute, whether it's a contract issue, personal injury, or business matter.
  2. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your case's strengths, weaknesses, and the likelihood of success.
  3. What is your fee structure?
Clarify how you'll be charged, whether by the hour, a flat fee, or on a contingency basis.
  4. How long do you expect my case to take?
While it's hard to predict, an experienced lawyer can give you a rough estimate based on similar cases.
  5. How often do you settle cases versus going to trial?
Some lawyers are more inclined to settle, while others may be more experienced in the courtroom. It’s important to understand their strategy.
  6. What is your approach to resolving disputes?
Some lawyers prefer aggressive litigation, while others focus on settlement or mediation. Choose one whose approach aligns with your goals.

How to Check the Credibility of a Litigation Lawyer

To verify a litigation lawyer’s credibility, consider the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Ensure the lawyer is in good standing with the state bar and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and track record.
  • Look for litigation experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they have handled cases like yours and have a record of success.
  • Request references: Ask the lawyer to provide references from past clients who can speak to their effectiveness and approach.
  • Research their trial experience: If your case is likely to go to trial, ensure the lawyer has a history of courtroom success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make your first consultation with a litigation lawyer productive, you should prepare the following:

  • A clear outline of the dispute: Provide a timeline and key details about the legal issue you're facing.
  • Any relevant documents: Bring contracts, emails, letters, or any other documentation that pertains to the case.
  • A list of key players: Provide the names of individuals or companies involved in the dispute.
  • Questions about fees and the litigation process: Make sure you understand how the lawyer plans to approach your case and how you will be charged.
  • Your goals and expectations: Be clear about what outcome you're hoping for, whether it's a settlement, compensation, or another resolution.

By coming prepared, you can ensure that your initial meeting with the lawyer is both efficient and insightful, giving you a better sense of how to proceed with your case.
