I hired this law firm over a year and a half ago. They take their time to get back with you. It has been 6 months of waiting for the Veterans Administration to answer a letter. Still not answered. The law firm has already been paid, they are waiting for an answer from the VA. I told them over a month ago to send me the paperwork, and I will take it to the VA. Mr Farzad was very responsive immediately, he offered me help and explained my possibilities when unfortunately I was full of fear and also did not know my rights in marriage and in the country, since I am also an immigrant and English is not my first language. From the beginning Peter was very professional, understanding and patient, there were times when I was falling apart emotionally and felt that I could not continue with the process anymore and Peter always had a huge patience and words of encouragement for me to keep going. Peter does his job with great professionalism but also with empathy towards his clients, he is very good at fighting for what is fair, thus showing great ethics and commitment. As much as I appreciated Lisa's expert legal insights and her ability to communicate those well, her office operations and paralegal support was lacking in my case. I had numerous paralegals, which caused confusion and delays. Then Lisa was suddenly unavailable (for personal reasons, I think, which can happen), and my case was handed off to a more junior attorney who did not know me, was not especially good at giving support, and who spent a lot of time collaborating with a financial expert that the firm hired to help strategize in some grey areas regarding what was community property vs. my ex's separate property. They had a legal strategy that fell on its face when it was presented to the mediating judge, and this junior attorney had no plan B... throughout the rest of the mediation they gave no help in legal strategy or negotiating advice, but left me to make all the decisions on my own. I ended up with far less than I had been led to expect, and my legal and financial consulting bills were huge. Lisa never reached out to me personally to explain her absence, and when I shared that I was disappointed in how things ended up, she was sadly very defensive of the junior attorney and took no responsibility other than to waive a few minor fees on the final invoice. I think Lisa is talented, but not sure she's good at managing a team. The office seems to have a history of turnover.

I highly recommend Lisa and her wonderful assistant Sharon to get you through one of the most difficult times in your life. Lisa is efficient and trustworthy. She means what she says, and says what she means, in a clear and understandable voice. Lisa is very attentive to her clients and is almost always available to answer any question no matter how insignificant you may feel it is. If Lisa is not available then Sharon is. My ex and I had already gone through the divorce process for 4 months (almost in court) with individual lawyers prior to finding Lorna. Our individual lawyers, while claiming to be on our side did not take any steps towards settling out of Court. In fact it was more my Ex's lawyer who milked him for every dime she could get her hands on. She had no intention of working with my lawyer and basically has us headed full speed to Court with huge lawyer fees along the way. We finally talked and realized we could come to an amicable situation and found Lorna.
Lorna fit us in VERY last minute which was appreciated in ways I cannot express because we were 2 days from a Court appearance. She listened to what we wanted, talked through a few open issues with us and by one session we had an agreement. We rushed her for final documents and she went above and beyond to have them for us within a week. I cannot thank her enough to helping us.
Lorna is calm and accommodating. If you are looking for someone who will work to have your differences wrapped up quickly (not dragging it out like every other lawyer in town) then I think you should consider her services.
I have no complaints.

We came to Lorna knowing that collaborative law would be the smartest, most efficient choice for my ex husband and myself. Lorna took the time to really get to know us, our situation, our personal issues. This made a significant difference in our dealing with a highly emotional affair.
I want to publicly thank Lorna for all the hard work, clear communication, care and follow through she put into our divorce. She was kind and thoughtful, listened well and responded to both of our needs. I never felt that she was taking sides or wasn't looking out for the best interest of us both....that was exactly what we wanted and expected from a collaborative lawyer.
I would highly recommend Ms Jaynes. She is an excellent lawyer with many skills. She will guide you through the divorce maze and yet stay clear and open....just what is needed.
As for collaboration vs. the 'family court' approach, we are glad to have chosen a route that didn't divide us further. The collaborative approach was so much more cost effective....I can't imagine how much we would have spent had we both hired our own lawyers! Also, I feel with Lorna's help and the collaborative process we both had far less stress than going to court, our issues were settled in a non-adversarial manner and she managed our conflicts, emotional issues and relationship issues creatively.

Divorce is never ideal and an incredible hardship on families, I can honestly say that after living through it. If I had felt there was any other way for reconciliation, I never would have considered it, but after that decision had been made, I found myself looking for the next step.
After hearing that there was an alternative to being a docket number in a traditional, drug out, expensive, process for divorce through the court system, I began a search through Google for Collaborative Law and found Lorna's name. After talking with her, I found her incredibly supportive and informative from the onset. That continued well after the last document was signed. I always felt that she had my best interests at heart while maintaining what was best and fair for the whole family. Never being through this before, she provided the legal experience and knowledge that I needed because, honestly, I just didn't always know what I was legally entitled to. I found that she always kept me informed of where we were in the process. She was very approachable if I had a question and, equally as important, she answered promptly which was very much appreciated. It did a lot to relieve the anxiety that just comes with the territory. I would have to admit that I was not always an effective speaker through the process and there were times where my mind drew blanks, but because Lorna had taken the time to get to know me, my voice was heard through her and she was able to put into words what I wasn't always able to do for myself. I don't think that my case could have been settled any better than it was with Lorna and certainly not as fast. She was exactly who I needed at that time and I'm grateful that I Googled Collaborative Law and found her.
I can't discuss the value of finding Lorna without discussing the benefits of Collaborative Law for anyone that may be searching right now. The process of Collaborative Law provided a means for divorce in a nontraditional way. It is a process where issues can be discussed and unraveled across a table with the help and guidance of specifically and specially trained Collaborative Attorneys who keep the discussions on point, fair and productive. It differs from mediation in that each spouse retains a Collaborative Attorney. It also provides a way for you and your children, through referred Licensed Family Counselors, to have a voice in the custody plan instead of being told what that will be by a Judge who doesn't know your family. That was a driving force for me.

Anyways, I used Roman for a complexed business sale which consisted of the sale of shares, conversions, promissory notes and many other obstacles. During the process Roman was knowledgeable, professional and informed me every step along the way. When I explained my situation to Mr Seyfi he asked me what I did? I told him I was a recording artist. He asked if I had any music available? After he heard a few tracks on Apple Music he told me to get out there and continue to make good music. And not to worry about this case because he was going to make it go away! I came from part of Europe where Laws are different from the Laws at the USA. Mr. Velasquez took on my case when i didn't think an attorney in California would since I am in Ohio. I was however injured while on vacation in California. My entire ankle was broken in half due to a fall at an apartment complex. He took this case without hesitation knowing the rough road that lied ahead. He went above and beyond the call of duty by coming to Ohio since I was unable to travel. He brought a videographer into my home to show how difficult everyday tasks were for me to complete such as getting out of the chair, walking to the restroom, getting in and out of my bed and getting in and out of our vehicle. He had to spend a significant amount of time in my home to accomplish this as it takes me a great amount of time to perform these tasks and I had to take regular breaks . He was very patient throughout the entire process of the video taping. He was always in touch with me about the case and how it was going. He set up depositions for me and my family to be done here in Ohio with the defense attorney present. He made it easily accessible for us to do the depositions. He even encountered the problem of me not being able to get into the one building and got the deposition moved with ease so i could have access that i needed. During the depositions he made us very comfortable and took breaks as we needed due to the fact that this was a very traumatic experience for me and my family to have to relive. He is an excellent attorney and when he has a goal in mind he goes for it and fights with all he has. He had a goal for me and I am very pleased with the outcome of the case I couldn't have asked for a more capable or qualified attorney.

The La Costa HOA Board chose Eskridge Law to update our Declaration of Restrictions and Rules and Regulations documents for our condominium complex. These documents had not been revised in more than 40 years. We worked closely with Gayle Eskridge, principal of Eskridge Law. She attended our annual board meeting and was extremely helpful with the explanation of what needed to be done. Her knowledge and experience were of tremendous help to our Board and she was instrumental in helping us get the HOA documents revised and updated and filed with the county in a timely manner.

This is a disingenuous law firm founded by a non-ABA accredited correspondence law school graduate. I retained Gayle Eskridge's services (founder of Eskridge Law) in what would ultimately be a career ending, wrongful termination case. She and her associates proceeded to slow-walk my case for well over a year. During this time, Gayle produced what I would consider to be some of the worst legal writing I've ever encountered. How she allowed this work product to be seen by me, not to mention potential defendants/opposing counsel, continues to elude me. To this day, I occasionally review my case documents; discovery did, by the way, cost me well over $200,000. I remain astounded by her ineptness, indecisiveness, and vacuous understanding of my case’s fact pattern. In this instance, as both an attorney and advocate, she was patently out of her depth. Unfortunately for me, she was also acutely aware of my financial standing. After bilking me, she promptly let my case die on the vine.
I was compelled to contact several attorneys specializing in legal malpractice. Without divulging the outcome, the unanimous consensus was that, “…she used you like an ATM.”
In her defense, I did suspect early on that she was a long shot. I failed to heed the many instances that betrayed her true intention of indefinitely delaying my case while billing for every conceivable incidental expense. The timeliness and painstakingly detailed nature of her invoices belied her inadequate attention, and outright inaction, for anything truly advancing my case. After repeated attempts at imploring her to file on my behalf failed, and after she began to realize that monthly invoices for $18,000. were no longer tenable, her work was complete. She had one of her associates hastily pass me off to another firm. In the end, I would lose my career. I would file for bankruptcy. And, I would have no one to blame except for myself. Obviously, I cannot recommend Gayle Eskridge for anything except the most rudimentary labor/employment law matters.

A few years ago, my sister and I found our selves in a most difficult circumstance that centered around a legal issue that my father, who was dying in the hospital, had failed to resolve. Suffice to say, we were emotionally wrought and desperate for help. I had reached out to a few other lawyers, most of whom never bothered to return my call and if they did, were more interested in their up-front fees, than offering helpful counsel.
Fortunately, we found Brian and he immediately understood the gravity of the situation and was able to map out a plan of action. His calm demeanor, and solid knowledge of the law, kept an already difficult situation from becoming worse. Talk about going the extra mile, he even came to the hospital to meet my father – not a place most lawyers go -- and make sure that the matter was resolved properly.
After our father passed, Brian was instrumental in taking care of some of difficult and confusing paperwork including title-transfers and other filings that we had no idea were legally required. He also counseled us on the importance of having a will, or a trust, the value of advance health-care-directives, and other important pre-need paperwork.
Brian Sheppard is first and foremost a man of integrity and principle, well-versed in the nuances of the law, and fundamentally a man with the courage to do what is right. Over the years, I have had occasion to call him with a simple a question and he has gentlemanly and generously resolved the matter without an outrageous bill.
Our only regret is that we weren’t able to avail ourselves of Brian’s services earlier.

Brian was the absolute worse attorney I have ever had. He is very lazy and doesn’t take the time to actually review each case. Oh and after all the money you spend, he will loose the case anyways. He is horrible! Do not use brain Sheppard.

Jorge did a great job at dealing with my ex and his lawyers in my divorce. He got my divorce settled and I was able to move forward. I would certainly recommend him to my friends going through a divorce. When things got a little more complex, response time could be improved. However, overall good with dealing with negotiations.

I have been working with Jorge Velasco and Daniel Paletz on a custody case for a few months now. Both Jorge and Daniel are really great lawyers. Jorge knows how to play the divorce game in a very intelligent way. Between the Jorge and Daniel they made the the giant firm my ex hired look bad. I highly recommend them if you're going through a divorce.. They're so knowledgable in family law they out smart even the largest firms. I highly recommend working with this firm!

I used James and his law firm on two separate occasions, a living trust which involved my mother and my divorce. Neither occasion was simple but James handled both with helpful insight and guided me to the correct answers through thoughtful questions. Not once did I feel he was just suggesting things to make the process move quicker or easier on his law firm to execute. Both times I left his office feeling as though things were handled fairly and correctly. Whatever legal issue I may have in the future, I will definitely consult with James first to see if his firm can take it on. I have a high degree of trust and faith in his competence to handle any legal issue after his work on my living trust and divorce.

It pains me, just a lil, to have to write this review in this manner but the truth sets you free. I sent Chapman and his partner Friedman or Stark an email verbalizing how I felt about things pertaining to our case. Chapman acknowledged my email. His partner didn’t pay it any attention. Thus is the reason for my public reviews. Better a review than a bar complaint? I contacted Chapman in 2018. He took our case, over 20 people in an apt building, on contingency. If he knew there wasn’t a case. He would not have taken it. Any who, the only issues I have with Chapman is he and his firm not including us on decisions I felt he was required to include us in. From day one, he seemed hospitable. But his staff and other partner(s) not so much. I didn’t understand how he seemed to be considerate but SOME of his staff and partner or partners weren’t. Their attitudes made me think that Chapman’ demeanor could have been forced of insincere. But, due to him being consistent in how he spoke to me and responded to my inquiries, that is the only reason I believed he was not like his staff and partner(s). Even though there were things I know Chapman could have done better in representing us. I still would recommend him and not his partners or partner. Chapman is more personable and easy to talk to. While his partner tried to intimidate me indirectly and threatened me when I brought pertinent concerns to their attention. He wasn’t even thankful that I chose to address them and not the court or the bar association. Which I had and have ever legal ground to do so. My advise to Chapman is to go solo. My advice might be the last one you get to ditch working with individuals who don’t represent your character. Or do they?

WOW is the first word that comes to mind about Warren. I had a tough case fighting for custody of my teenager. It is hard to enforce custody orders when your child is older and it was imperative to have enforceable orders as the clock was running out. His orders along with Ex Parte's to get the job done in the shortest time we could do, were amazing. Warren knew just the orders to ask for that were enforceable. If you are coming from your heart as a parent for the best interest of your child, taking steps towards that goal consistently and with determination. Warren can help you move forward as soon as possible for the best interest of your child. I highly recommend him so very much!!

Mr Shiell recently represented me for almost one
year in a prolonged, complicated, legal action to
reduce and or eliminate my alimony obligation.
Warren is extremely knowledgeable, fair,
responsive, wise, and very experienced with a
chaotic legal system. He knew which additional
experts were critical to the successful resolution
of my case.
Although Warren gives the appearance of being
very calm and "laid back" he is a tough negotiator
and always represented my best interests against
a team of lawyers who were aggressive and
extremely confrontational. I value Warren's
advice and in retrospect, he was 100% accurate

Warren is an excellent attorney. Last year he represented me in an international move away case. I moved back to South Korea with my children and Warren successfully won a trial in which the Los Angeles Court decided that the case and custody was better decided by a Korean Court. He was well prepared, highly organized, knowledgeable about the law and procedures. In Korea, I won custody of my children and I have sole custody.
There can be no enough rating for his wonderful service and for this excellent lawyer. I strongly recommend Warren as an attorney.

I wish my experience with Janet had been as good as everyone else posting here. Unfortunately, it was not. While she was fairly knowledgeable about my legal matter, she became quite irate when I requested an itemized invoice to submit to the court, and she wrote several emails chastising me for asking. I was very upset by her emails and asked her to stop sending them. Even though my case has been settled, Janet has persisted in sending me emails soliciting donations for various charities she is involved with even though I have asked her to stop. I will be calling the local bar association on Monday to see if they can assist me in stopping these unwanted emails.
