Nicole was recommended to me for my divorce. She was my savior and literally at beckoning call all day everyday for a solid year. I went through a horrible divorce that included a business, which she was very knowledgeable about. She fought hard for me and knew what the judge would or wouldn't agree with. I honestly couldn't have gone through what I went through without her. She also knew the opposing Attorney and how he operated which was a huge benefit. I plan to use her for all future legal matters. She is ethical smart and caring and helped me tremendously during the most difficult time in my life.

I hired this attorney to assist with my modification and she stated she was able to help and I had grounds for modifying my parenting schedule with the other parent. When the other party hired an attorney, her demeanor began to change and so did her confidence in winning. To make matters worse only weeks before trial, she withdrew herself indicating she felt I no longer had grounds. The other attorney intimidated her and I was forced to fight for my child on my own.. I should have read the previous review! Get an attorney who is not afraid to take on the big dogs and invests in you.. After all, isn’t that what you’re paying thousands for?

Please stay away from this attorney by all means! When we first met, she said I should be applying for guardianship for my adult disabled son and would help me with this but subsequently never did anything and later reversed her position saying the court would most likely not agree with my being my son's legal guardian. She also told me that my ex would not be allowed to move my son out of state without a good plan for my son to include workshop/day program. Again she changed her position on this, later stating a court would agree with my ex moving my son out of state even if there was no reason to believe it would be in his best interest to move. She is very poorly versed in legal matters regarding special needs adults. She rarely answered my calls and became very disengaged from my case. Frankly what originally appeared to be good representation was the exact opposite and a total waste of time and money.

Went to this firm to help set up my franchise. Honestly was a horrible experience. Communication was terrible (I'd have to email the same question 4-5x before finally getting a response) and the quality even worse. They literally took a generic franchise template, charged me thousands and then sent it to me with numerous mistakes throughout (citing anything from construction to nanny's - both had absolutely nothing to do with my business. I went to a new firm who couldn't even use the FDD they created as there were so many mistakes throughout. Complete waste of time and money.

Attorney Ryan's intelligence, experience, and knowledge of the law are unparalleled. When those attributes are combined in an attorney who truly cares for your best interests, the feeling of support is tangible. In a field sometimes devoid of honesty and compassion, Attorney Ryan stands out as an example of true integrity. His team matches his character, and I can truly say that I enjoyed going into the offices of Witmer, Karp, Warner & Ryan LLP, despite the circumstances! I value beyond measure the support, kindness, and guidance, I was shown all along the way and cannot recommend Steven and Witmer, Karp, Warner & Ryan LLP highly enough.

This review is written by two professional social workers in the adoption field. Lisa Marino is our agency's legal counsel, and we have always found her to be exceedingly professional, ethical, and compassionate. We have worked together on many very sensitive and difficult matters, and we have always found her to be conciliatory rather than adversarial in her approach. We greatly value her experience and advice, and we would strongly recommend her to anyone seeking legal counsel around family issues, especially those related to children. We have recommended her on many occasions and will continue to do so.

1) Unprofessional. Ms. Marino would not continue a session since our retainer had run out unless we provided cash on the spot. We had no history of unpaid bills. She scribbled out a receipt by hand on scratch paper. Her recommendations were provided 3 weeks later than promised. She does not provide invoices. 2) Ms. Marino's recommendations were, in my opinion, rash and reflected minimal caring or interest, particularly on behalf of the child involved. She does not seem strong enough to stand up to difficult personalities and takes the path of least resistance, regardless of the child's best interest. 3) She makes abrupt decisions without taking facts or data into consideration.

Atty Susan Rossi Cook and staff came highly recommended to us when we were looking for a mediator for our divorce. We were so happy with her as she made a very emotional and personal time in our lives easier on us. She guided us every step of the way. She was very supportive, professional and responsive. Her assistant Joanne was nothing short of kind and compassionate and very helpful with all my questions. Thank you for helping us through this difficult and painful process.

I highly recommend Susan Cook to anyone who needs help with estate planning. She is very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. She took the time to explain everything to us, answered all our questions, and was very personable while explaining complex ideas. She helped direct me and my wife to other excellent lawyers when the situation dictated. She offered options and services through her or others when appropriate, which met all our needs and wishes. She also gave us clear instructions with all the necessary steps throughout the process. I am confident that my assets and family are well-protected thanks to Susan. She is one of the best lawyers I have ever worked with.

My husband and I hired Mr. Sneider in 2012 to represent us for our case. I rate Mr.Sneider from temperament to professionalism for one star. Mr. Sneider definitely has no best interest for his clients. He cares about his feeling more than the client's case. He dropped out of our case even though we strongly against his action. He left us hanging. It's not a pleasant experience work with Mr. Sneider.

Arthur Sneider represented me in a post-divorce case involving both financial matters as well as child custody issues. He is thoughtful and strategic as a professional while his extensive experience with the law and his interpersonal skills make him the perfect negotiator--able to be both reasonable and flexible yet dynamic and convincing when necessary in court. His understanding of the nuances of the law, as well as his dedication to truly thinking through how to best prepare for alternatives helped me to think about what was most important. Attorney Sneider came on to assist "late in the game" and was able to settle matters that several very expensive "downtown" lawyers had botched. Attorney Sneider, along with the other attorneys in his practice, make sure that all documents are organized and that your case is well-prepared. Arthur understands children and families and will assist you to determine what makes the most sense. This was the first experience with an attorney I did not dread! I would highly recommend Arthur Sneider if you are seeking a divorce attorney or dealing with matters of child custody.

I’m currently in the middle of a divorce and Fran was highly recommended. I had a consultation where he tried giving me financial advise on my IRA? I did hire him and sent $5000 check same day.... tried to get in touch with him several times over 3 weeks with no response... he finally called and said he can’t do anything for me until he get paid... after having him check into it he says there was a mix up and his office cashed it 3 weeks ago! After reviewng all specifcs and working on this for 2 months with very little progress he called me to ask these questions.. does your wife work?!, do you have kids and how old?!, did you file for a divorce yet? He also recommended me to get my company appraised for 20k even though I was ok with the other sides offer. A very frustrating experience!

... a great lawyer knows the clerks, the bailiffs, <everybody> Put another way, review Fran's education and professional affiliations and you will understand why he was referred to me by my previous lawyer. Filling in the back story, I was involved in what became a three-year divorce. My ex- retained counsel, but kept viewing herself as entitled to more and more. I would think the case resolved, but she would change her mind to demand more. Upon hiring her fifth lawyer, she restarted the entire divorce negotiation. My one lawyer had understandably moved onto new cases. He recommended Fran as the guy to get the job done. And Fran did so. He was a gentleman, we were both fair, and he did bring the case to an authoritative conclusion.

Had the worst experience with this person. Extremely biased when it comes to parent coordinating. Very unprofessional. Extremely unprofessional. I have no idea where she gets her credentials. There are plenty of other parent coordinators. Get a good one. Steer clear from this person. She made things way worse and made things so much more confusing for my 4 yo son. What a Mediation Lawyer Can Do for You

A mediation lawyer specializes in resolving disputes outside of the courtroom through a process called mediation. Mediation involves a neutral third-party mediator who helps the disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediation lawyers can represent clients in various matters, including divorce, business disputes, employment conflicts, contract issues, personal injury claims, and more.

Unlike litigation, mediation is a less adversarial and more cost-effective way to settle disputes, often leading to faster resolutions and preserving relationships between the parties involved.

When Should I Hire a Mediation Lawyer?

Consider hiring a mediation lawyer when you’re involved in a dispute and want to avoid the time, expense, and stress of going to court. Common reasons to hire a mediation lawyer include:

  • Divorce or child custody disputes: A mediation lawyer can help you reach a fair settlement on issues like property division, alimony, and parenting arrangements without going to court.
  • Business or contract disputes: For disagreements such as contract disputes, partnership conflicts, or intellectual property issues, a mediation lawyer can assist in resolving the matter through negotiation.
  • Employment disputes: Issues like wrongful termination, discrimination, or wage disputes can be addressed through mediation to find common ground and avoid lawsuits.
  • Personal injury cases: Mediation can help both parties agree on compensation in cases like car accidents or slip-and-fall claims without a prolonged court battle.
  • Property disputes: Disputes over property ownership, landlord-tenant issues, or boundary disagreements can be settled more amicably through mediation.
  • Family or inheritance disputes: Mediation can help resolve conflicts over wills or trusts without further dividing the family.

What Does a Mediation Lawyer Do?

A mediation lawyer provides a range of services to help clients resolve disputes through negotiation and mutual agreement. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Representing your interests: Acting as your advocate during mediation to ensure your rights are protected and you understand your legal options.
  • Preparing for mediation: Reviewing the facts of the case, gathering necessary documents, and advising you on potential resolutions.
  • Facilitating communication: Helping to facilitate open and constructive dialogue between parties to clarify points of contention.
  • Negotiating settlements: Assisting in negotiating fair and balanced settlement terms that are in your best interest.
  • Drafting mediation agreements: Preparing the official mediation agreement that outlines the terms of the settlement, which is often legally binding.
  • Avoiding litigation: Aiming to reach a settlement that eliminates the need for a court trial, saving time and resources for both parties.
  • Handling complex legal issues: Explaining the legal implications of various settlement terms in cases with complicated legal matters.

How Are Mediation Lawyers Paid?

Mediation lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the time involved. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on experience and case complexity.
  • Flat fee: For simpler mediations, some lawyers may offer a flat fee covering all legal work involved in the process.
  • Retainer: In ongoing or complex cases, a retainer may be required as an upfront payment billed against as work progresses.

Discuss fees and payment structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand the cost of mediation services.

How Much Does a Mediation Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a mediation lawyer depends on several factors, including the case's complexity, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the dispute. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Typically between $150 and $500 per hour.
  • Flat fees: For simple mediations, fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Total mediation costs: Can vary widely, from $2,000 to $10,000 for straightforward cases, up to $10,000 to $50,000 or more for complex disputes.

Always request a detailed cost estimate during your consultation to understand total expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Mediation Lawyer

Before hiring a mediation lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with mediation cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in handling similar disputes.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify the fee structure and request an estimate based on your specific case.
  3. What is the likelihood of resolving my case through mediation?
Seek an honest assessment of whether mediation is suitable for your situation.
  4. How long will the mediation process take?
Inquire about the expected timeline and number of sessions required.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
Confirm who will manage your mediation and represent your interests.
  6. Can we pursue alternative dispute resolution (ADR) if necessary?
Ask about other forms of ADR, such as arbitration, if mediation doesn't resolve the conflict.

How to Check the Credibility of a Mediation Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable mediation lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Verify their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary history.
  • Look for mediation experience: Review their website or professional profile for specialization in mediation and successful case histories.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google for client feedback.
  • Ask for references: Request references from past clients familiar with their mediation skills.
  • Check for certifications: Look for certifications from organizations like the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR).

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Relevant documents: Any materials related to the dispute, such as contracts, emails, financial records, or court filings.
  • List of key issues: A detailed list of the main points of contention that need resolution.
  • Timeline of events: A chronological account of events leading up to the dispute, including prior resolution attempts.
  • Goals for the mediation: Be prepared to discuss your desired outcomes and areas where you're willing to compromise.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Any queries about the mediation process, fees, or their approach to dispute resolution.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide the best possible advice for resolving your dispute through mediation.
