For the past 3.5 years, my wife and I have worked with an outstanding team at Berman & Simmons.
On September 11, 2020, my wife suffered a preventable brain aneurysm that caused a stroke. Our elder care lawyer, Patti Nelson-Reade, referred us to Jodi Nofsinger at Berman & Simmons, who took on our case. Over the next 3.5 years, Jodi and her team dedicated themselves to learning every detail about my wife and me. They have been incredibly caring and compassionate, with the goal of securing full compensation for the damages caused by this tragic and preventable event.
The legal journey has been hard, long, and tedious, but this amazing team has been with us every step of the way. They have become our friends, and I look forward to teaching Jodi how to fly fish in the spring, as she has requested. My husband was injured at work, workmans comp had denied his case. We attempted to fight this ourselfs which left us stressed, confused and overwhelmed.My husband had several medical appts and procudures leaving us with so many medical expenses. It is so frustrating to have to fight so hard to get him the care and treatment needed to recover to get back to work.

Doug Kaplan agreed to represent me in a Worker's Compensation case. After our first meeting my wife and I felt that we had consulted the right attorney and firm. I was referred to Tim by my divorce attorney to represent me on a separate legal matter. He reviewed the case and developed a strategy that resulted in two felony charges being dropped and a third reduced to a misdemeanor, through a differed disposition. We had a situation where the Mother withheld contact from the Father. Amber helped in giving voice to our concerns with the Mother's criminal record, bizarre augmentative behavior and association with recent violent felons. In the end, with Amber's help, the Father did obtain primary residence for the good of the child.

Property boundary dispute. My neighbor and I have identified that we disagree on the location of one pin. After discussing my deed with the town tax people, I chose to bring this to Mike to get guidance. Celine handled my claim involving an automobile accident. I wasn't at fault, I was broadsided. I didn't want to deal with an attorney or the insurance company. I had to do this in order to have my medical bills paid and receive a settlement. The main focus was to get my medical bills negotiated and paid. The settlement was not my main focus. I found myself one day needing legal aid to defend myself against charges of domestic assault, represention for divorce, and shared custody of my 3.5 year old child. Jennifer was referred too me by a friend. I meet with Jen, and felt from the start she was someone I could put my future in her hands. Jen had her work cut out for her because my now ex- wife had put togather a case against me to bet all cases. My assault case was dissmissed. My fight for shared custody went thur all the typical paths that one parent may take when trying to prove to the courts that another parent is unfit to have shared custody.Which included my child seeing a counselor at the age of 4 and 5. During my fight for custody I had asked Jen to do something that is most often frowned upon by the courts. That was to have my child be put on the witness stand in front of the judge, Presiding over my custody and divorce case. Along with many other factors in this case I strongly believe that the meeting of my child and the Judge showed the court how wrong it would be, and how much it may affect the way this child's life may have turned out had my ex gotten what she wanted. Jennifer fought for Shared Primary Residence, and won this for myself and my daughter. My daughter is 14 now and remembers everything that took place during the 3 years it took to get this case resolved. She does great in school. And has been playing basketball year round for 4 years now, she is in the 8th grade her grades are great, also does track.She has a life that would not be as it is had I not had a Lawyer that went the distance with every issue she could to prove the truth and get all the facts out for every one involved in my case too see. In the end I would not ever want to go through that mess again but if ever I had to I would want Jennifer Ferguson, to be repenting me in court. I always recommend Att. I met with a couple of lawyers prior to hiring Jennifer to handle my motion to modify case for my divorce judgment.
Unlike the other attorneys, Jennifer offered candid advice during our first meeting and described to me what my options were and the best case scenario could be.

I live in Tennessee and needed an attorney in Kittery, Maine in a criminal misdemeanor case that involved two different charges. My brother is a longstanding attorney and I have dealt with other attorneys in matters noncriminal so I have some experience with attorneys. I can unreservedly say that Matt is one of the, if not the most honest, responsive, knowledgeable, and accessible attorneys I've ever dealt with. He immediately recognized that the charges were frivolous and he approached the case from that standpoint, even though I was technically guilty of the charges. He left me feeling from our first conversation to the very favorable resolution he obtained for me that I was the only client he had. He did everything he said he would do when he said it would be done, keeping me informed every step of the way. Our communication was conducted entirely via the telephone and email. In the resolution of the case, he had one charge dismissed outright, and the other charge was diverted for six months at which time it will also be dismissed. I contacted Attorney Levine for a consultation regarding a situation that I was rather embarrassed by the details of revealing due to the nature of what had transpired as I had not been free of guilt in this series of events.
However, just like a physician who has heard "everything", Attorney Levine cut to the chase and did not allow for any emotionally vulnerable pieces to affect the entirity of what I was realistically looking at and why his thoughts on the matter may be of assistance but would be far from easy to execute that which I was most concerned from coming to fruition.
That, in my mind, is a trait that is found only in the most experienced of defense attorneys as they make it quite clear that none of what they advise is for the purposes of "clearing you in the eyes of the court" but in guiding you down a path that his experience has shown will yield the most desirable outcome.

Attorney Levine provided me and my son with a free consultation regarding my son’s “driving to endanger” case. Between a 10-minute phone conversation and an hour-long meeting in his office, he gave us immensely helpful and detailed information and recommendations to aid my son’s defense. It was brought to my attention by my employer
I had a warrant from a case that I was unaware I had that was nearly 20 years old.
I was shocked to say the least. ( I wont get into details but let just say, the court should have never issued a warrant in the first place) I did some research and began to look for representation in the state of Maine.
i live roughly 2500 miles away now. I called 3 different attorneys trying to get an idea of the process ahead, and the money that would be necessary.
All the attorneys quoted between 300hr - 600hr and wanted minimum $2000.00 just to start making phone calls. I was told (generally)if they can get a quick dismissal, I would get my money back or a portion of it depending on hours of work.
I DO absolutely believe in paying for services even if they are expensive, as long as it's fair a trade.
Before the these attorneys even knew what the case looked like, the feedback sounded like I needed to get ready for the possibility that it would be a long and expensive process. Similar conversations with the other 2 more attorneys will take place.
I spoke to my wife and we both agreed that I would need to keep looking and Praying for the right person. After looking at many other attorneys I found Mr Mcintosh's Profile.
I found it interesting that he was so well traveled and worked for the DOD.
My wife has worked for the government for years and has always had a bottom line {what's the solution here} attitude about problems. Also Traveling that much gives you a wider perspective of the world and the people in it.(Empathy). So I hoped

I get a phone call. next morning roughly at 7am. phone call was just under 8 minutes . 7 of which were probably me explaining the events that ensued on that night "it" happened.
Most would worry he only responded with about 4 sentences.
I was relieved . He's said. What's your name and date of birth?
Let me make a couple of phone calls. What's your email?
Email me the court case number. Bye.
Almost 2 hours later I receive an email with an attachment .
CASE DISMISSED!!!
WOW. I Immediately emailed him back and thanked him and requested an invoice because I hadn't received one yet.
His response : It just took a couple of phone calls. You'll be getting no invoice from me.
I'm writing this review not because he didn't charge me .
I'm writing this review because he got my case dismissed in 2hours and refused to be paid for it.
So to whom ever reads this....

Jeremiah worked hard on my criminal case and worked closely with our local district attorney to get me the best outcome possible!! He worked FOR ME as if I was paying him on my own, and I've NEVER had a court appointed lawyer do that for me before!! Got my charge filed for 2 years and at the end it will be dropped almost all together entirely, besides a small fine.. Mr. Baldacci was hired for a very complicated family law case. He spent a lot of time learning the history & details of the matters involved. He has a calm demeanor, reflective, assured, and, due to his legal expertise, has the ability to hone in on the issues at hand & what part of the history is pertinant in preparing the case & presenting it to the court. He has been a lawyer for a long time, & while this doesn't always translate into legal expertise or knowledge of the courts, or how to draft responses to motions, etc., in Mr. Baldacci's case it does. Experience with the courts, expertise with the law, how that translates to a situation, & how to handle that situation is critical, and Mr. Baldacci has all of this expertise and comfort in handling complicated situations. While there were times we were concerned about what was happening, he stayed calm, and was fully prepared going into court & defending motions. This difficult case was won initially, and also on appeal. We thank him for his kindness, expertise, & compassion. He did a fantastic job and are so grateful for him!

I found Rachel via some amazing recommendations and reviews. She represented my mother and I on separate cases. She was absolutely amazing during my entire process; extremely dedicated, kind, understanding and really achieved great results! I was also the interpreter during most of my mother’s meetings with Rachel. Having English as ones second language is incredibly difficult and scary when dealing with legal matters. Legal terminology is difficult and intimidating for even native English speakers, let alone for someone who speaks English as a second language. Rachel was incredibly patient and did everything she could to communicate with my mum, and to get her the desired results.
