Other then that, the final experience after getting my check was bad because the desk person started to put me pressure to provide 5 stars here and was not good

I would never recommend either Francesca or Carlye, as my experience with them was that of ineffectiveness, procrastination and extreme inefficiency resulting in high bills and no accomplishments on my behalf, accompanied by poor attitude. I contacted Francesca in late Sep 2023 to help me and my son gain control of my son’s college fund and get my ex to pay child support. Francesca was optimistic, stated that they will get to work on it “right away”, and suggested that she bring on Carlye as it would be “more efficient”. What I was not told is that I will be billed thousands of dollars for Francesca and Carlye talking to each other (conferences they called it, and that is very lucrative for the two of them, but definitely not efficient). I was also not told that it meant that Francesca will dump my case on an inexperienced junior attorney –something I would have never agreed to. Not knowing any better I took her advice. By the end of November, still with no court date or even a motion in sight, my ex hired a lawyer, who, according to Francesca, was going to give us a counter-offer. Francesca suggested we wait to see it, before going to court. I waited for somebody to reach out to me until mid-January, for nearly 2 months, when my ex sent my son’s tuition payment to himself instead of to college. When I texted her, Francesca finally called my ex’s lawyer and discovered that he fired her. I am not sure when Francesca or Carlye were planning to follow-up on the situation if I didn’t text them. At that point, Francesca reassured me that we will be doing to court “very soon” (previously suggesting that in such a situation we can have an emergency court hearing within days). However, neither she nor Carlye pursued an emergency hearing, and did nothing to remediate the situation, leaving myself and my son to fight my ex for the tuition money, but I was billed thousands of dollars for communicating with them about the situation. It took until March to get a motion produced, with the court date eventually scheduled for mid-April. At that point my ex lawyered up again, asking to postpone the court date so they can file counter-motion. While it only took his lawyer a total of only 11 days from when he was hired until he completed the motion and submitted it to court, my lawyers missed court communications, and with all the other delays on part of Francesca and Carlye we did not get to court until early June, more than 8 months from when I hired them, and at the cost of 4-5 times what my ex paid his lawyer to get to that point. Once we got to court, Carlye proved to be just as ineffective and inefficient in convincing the judge of anything of benefit to me. The summer was spent by her in an unbroken streak of failures to get any results on my behalf or to move the process toward resolution through multiple court appearances, while billing me thousands of dollars. I was left to fight with my ex by myself outside of court to try to get to any kind of an agreement about the college fund and child support, while continuing to pay legal fees for "representation" but no results. My ex and I finally came to an agreement, outside of court, with no input from my lawyers. The agreement was written up by my ex’s attorney, who was much more responsive and efficient through that process. I really should have fired Francesca and Carlye at that point and finalized it myself, but I thought that I may as well benefit from having access to legal representation. Another mistake. They dragged it out for another 2 months, with the final agreement being identical to the original + changes by my ex that he sent over the day after his lawyer circulated the agreement, but I was charged additional ~ 4500 for their “work”. They did nothing but dragged the process out for over a year, left me to fight with my ex by myself and “efficiently” billed me tens of thousands of dollars. When I brought my concerns to Francesca, she accused me of trying to shake her down and get out of paying my bills. So – definitely don’t recommend.

I am so thankful for Thomas and his help with my divorce. I recommend him at every opportunity. His knowledge and approach kept my divorce civil and moving. When things escalated he was there for me, looking out for my best interest, while helping me set reasonable expectations. He doesnt get sucksd into the drama and isn't going to milk unfortunate situations to bump his bottom line.

After four years processing a Will which Bertone herself describes as "a simple, uncomplicated case involving few assets", she has produced nothing but delay and deceitful excuses for her incompetence. Violating even minimal standards, Bertone refuses to set her fee, only indicating that her share of the inheritance will be more than any intended beneficiary receives. She's provided numerous examples of collusion with opposing counsel to ensure his cut is as excessive and lucrative. Her practice is essentially parasitic. Don't be swayed by bogus reviews full of flattering adjectives and no specific information. This firm should be avoided like the plaque.

Anna Mae is great, but was left unhappy with the services rendered for a few reasons. I signed an initial retainer for a mediation document review and scheduled 2 video calls. On the call it was advised that I would need to sign on to a higher retainer which was fine and I did. Once the calls were completed, at no point was I notified that the costs had exceeded the retainer and instead received an email a week after the calls that the costs incurred were well over double the retainer and I had to pay to receive the finished document, but with no justification or explanation for the time spent outside the calls. It seems like fair practice should be to notify the client when you're over the retainer and how much additional work you expect it to be. Additionally, though I provided a word document for them to review and edit, they refused to send me a word document of their edits and would only send a locked PDF which doesn't allow me to make any further modifications as we move through the mediation process and any additional edits would lead to me spending more for them to do it. Both of the other attorneys I have worked with for the drafting and review have been more transparent regarding billing and provided word documents that we can use to edit on our own as the situation evolves.

My introduction to Frank was through someone else, however they couldn't have been more correct that he was the person to help me with my situation. When it comes to firearms in NJ, things can be quite complicated and quite tricky. When it comes down to really dissecting the law and really determining the right course of action, Frank helped me do that. He was very responsive and timely in all communications and you can tell what is important to him is the people that reach out and hire him. If he is your attorney, you will know that he cares to do what is right to help you. He will tell you what he thinks and how the laws are written, so be ready for that, but I could not have asked for a better experience in the 2A arena.

I spoke with Frank Pisano to make sure I was in compliance with some laws. He was extremely knowledgeable, priced very fair compared to others I called. I compared prices due to being disabled and paying a large fee was not feasible for me. His specialties are Firearms, which is very important with the constant changing gun laws in NJ and staying in compliance, and personal injury attorney. He personally called me right back on his personal phone on his day off while out to lunch, and said he’ll call me when he was done and he did just that. He further explained what I needed to do and we set up a meeting at his office. Everything was resolved quickly and far exceeded my expectations of what the outcome would be. I highly recommend Frank for any firearm issues or legal problems due to the constant changing laws and also for personal injury. He talks to you like family while gathering all the important facts. I consulted Mr. Pisano on a matter, where my firearms were seized pursuant to frivolous temporary restraining order that my ex filed against me. His thoughtful explanations of the processes involved, from both the legal and practical perspectives, were illuminating. Frank greatly helped in clearing my name and having my firearms returned. Unfortunately, it seems rare in the legal field to find an attorney that's aggressive when need be but also human in understanding the client's situation.

I retained Mr.Maxwell back in 2021. We met once, and then i never heard a word back from Mr.Maxwell until about a month ago. Very unprofessional. When I attempted to stop the law suite due to family matters, I asked for my unused retainer to be returned. After hunting him down for WEEKS, I finally recieved an answer. Not only had my hefty retainer been used, but extra. Mr. Maxwell was a "gem" for not making me pay the "left over". The invoice was insane. The papers were filed in the court. Thats it. Does that cost $7500 plus??

I am so grateful to Lizet Vazquez and Caitlyn Cournoyer at the Bhatt Law Group for their help so I could get a marriage license. My fiancé and I had planned a destination wedding in Key West and had guests flying and driving from different areas to celebrate our special day. We were at city hall in Key West to get our marriage license and unbeknownst to us, we needed the date of our divorces from our previous marriages. Mine was more than 20 years ago and I could not remember the exact date and my solo attorney had since passed. I called the Bhatt Law Group in Jersey City and Lizet said she would get an attorney to go to the court house to find the records. I was panicked at the thought of not getting the date and thus not being able to get a valid marriage license. Tube un dui en el 2023, el abogado Carlos Rendo, me representó, el hablo con el fiscal, y ante el juez me hizo hablar a mí persona, pero creo q un abogado es el que tiene q hablar por ti por algo le estás pagando o no?, bueno con mis nervios y eso, a lo que yo entendí, el juez dictó, 4 meces de suspensión y 9 con Intoxalock, a lo q el abogado me explicó lomismo, los he cumplido, fui a MVD y me dicen q’ son 13 meces con Intoxalock, que lo debí aver puesto durante la suspensión, o sea que tuve que haver pagado durante 4 menses sin poder usar el vehículo.
Cuando regresé a su oficina, me dijo q eso apuntó también, y q para ver q paso necesita el transcrip o algo así?
Tomé la decisión de continuar por 4 meces más, no voy a perder más dinero.
espero esto les sirva a alguien y no paguen por un servicio no bien echo.
Y no digo q sea malo, por que no lo se, si un abogado lee esto q me diga si yo tenía q haber hablado o el abogado en mi representación.

Susan was an amazing receptionist, but that’s the most she could do. When she hands anything off to the actual Lawyers, you will barely hear back from them.

Let me say this , if I would of had Mr. Lankford from the beginning I would of gave it 5 stars and wrote less because in a matter of 24 hours he was able to get my dui charge amended to reckless driving as appose to the inconsiderate , unprofessional , LAZY AND RUDE JAMES ABATE WHO COMPLAINED MORE ABOUT DRIVING THAN THE ACTUAL UNFAIRNESS OF A CASE CASE THAT COULD OF BEEN FINISHED MONTHS AGO IF HE ACTUALLY CARED ABOUT HIS CLIENTS AND NOT JUST MONEY.. two completely different lawyers.. Mr. Lankford is a lawyer that is for the people and real justice Mr. Abate is a lawyer who is just doing the minimum to get paid he never called me never even spoke to me about what that game plan was I literally walked into court day and he told the judge I was pleading guilty to a dui when he hadn’t discussed this with me at all prior to this court appearance😳😳😳 and I literally had to hold back tears in court and ask the judge myself for more time because Mr. Ababte didn’t tell me anything I was always under the impression that me paying for the expert was to prove my innocence .. but as told to me in my final day In court with mr.Lankford (8.23) was that ABATE NEVER submitted any proper reports to the court and didn’t even give the prosecutor my 0.0 % breathalyzer reading test so he basically wanted me to plead guilty and say I was drinking so he could be done with the case and not have to travel to this court house anymore but I thank God for blessing me with the spirit to speak up because if I didn’t I would of been stuck with this crooked , lying , inconsistent abate and had a dui on my record for no reason .. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about him and if you decide to use this law firm and they assign Abate to you .. please save your self months of worry and ask for the phenomenal MR. LANKFORD !!!! He got me the justice I was promised when I choose this law firm what he was able to do in 24 hours of having my case as oppose to abate pushing it off and back for 8 months was outstanding and remarkable .. he said it was unfair to make me take a dui if I wasn’t drinking and he absolutely meant that he went to work hunny !!! providing the proper documents and argument to the prosecutor to give me proper and fair justice .. I am sincerely grateful for that man!! He is who all lawyers should follow the footsteps of .. Meghan , Ally , and Dee also were very helpful receptionist and clerks ! If it wasn’t for them I Wouldn’t even know what was going on because James abate never called me back or reached out to me personally and he was on my case from 12/2023 - 8/2024 that speaks volumes in the disregard he had for me as a client and my case ONLY USE LANKFORD !!! If you have to get ABATE don’t waste your hard earn money !!! I still cannot believe how quick Lankford was able to turn my whole case around , God bless that man and his fight for justice !
