Without going into as much detail as Steve, my story is very similar. I am a teacher and risked my livelihood if I had been found guilty of the unfair charges lobbed against me (my licenses would have been revoked). One lawyer after another painted a bleak outlook. In hindsight, I am so grateful for Mr. Mincey's assistance. I was one of the lucky ones several lawyers said to me after I told them how my case ended. The chances that they would have been able to achieve the same results were slim, I learned later.

My name is Steve Brantley Spence, I am a financial advisor and I live in the state of Virginia. A weekend trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania changed my life forever last January 9th, 2014. Virginia is an open carry commonwealth state and I was foolish enough in my thought process and I figured Pennsylvania's laws would overlap with Virginia. I was wrong and I traveled into the city limits of Philadelphia with my 9mm handgun on the floor of my passenger seat. In the state of Virginia in order to conceal a gun you must have a permit to do so, therefore I had my gun out in the open because I did not want to break the law by having it concealed in anyway. When I arrived in Philadelphia I was involved in a small car accident. The other driver and I waited for the police to arrive and after they arrived I was arrested for not having a permit to carry in the city of Philadelphia. I was completely shocked and in disbelief that I was going to jail for a simple mistake and not knowing the law. I did not resist arrest nor was I rude to any of the officers. I was charged with a class 3 felony for not having a permit to carry in the city of Philadelphia. I've never been in any trouble prior to this incident. I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Business Management and another degree in Marketing. I also played football at East Carolina during my four years and we won back to back CUSA championships. I have two handsome sons, a beautiful niece and a fiancé that I love so very much and who rely on me. After I posted bail I was able to travel back home to Virginia and continue my work as an advisor. There was a dark cloud over my thoughts and life because all of the lawyers that I reached out to told me that I would have to serve jail time and there was no way around it. Mr. Mincey did not make any guarantees but he promised me he would do all that he could to make sure I would not serve any jail time. If I were convicted of a felony I would have loss all of my securities licenses and been fired from my firm and be banned from practicing as a financial advisor. Mr. Mincey took on my case and worked very hard to work out a favorable deal for me with the District Attorney's office. Kevin stayed in constant contact with me and updated me every step of the way. I did not receive any jail time. I'm on probation but I still have my securities licenses and able to practice as an advisor. The hard work of Kevin Mincey not only impacted my life but my son's life as well. A couple of months after my arrest,my son's mother was unable to take care of him any longer. August 2014 I was granted full custody of my son. I don't know where my son would be if I were in jail and not able to take him in and raise him now. On behave of my family and all of the people that depend on, we truly thank you Kevin Mincey!!!

I hired Mr. Solarz to handle a medical malpractice suit involving my father. The case evolved into a wrongful death suit. Jordan and his support team were extremely professional and thoughtful in how the case progressed and offered the kind of advice that we really needed. I could not be more pleased to have been represented by Jordan and the firm of Riddick Moss.

I contacted Mr. Solarz with a potential lawsuit and his help was invaluable. While my issue was not something that he generally handles, he pointed me in the right direction to find someone that could. Mr. Solarz didn’t rush me off the phone like the dozen other attorneys that I contacted first. He was patient and attentive with my issue. While he didn’t handle my case personally he assisted me in getting the information that I needed to pursue my claim. Very professional and pleasant interaction with the otherwise impossible-to-navigate legal field.

My name is Sandra . This is a true story. I am a 30 veteran entrepreneur specializing in the creating and national distribution of automotive warranties. Our product development & marketing company contend with a myriad of lawsuits due to the litigious nature of business in general however especially with in the insurance industries. We had the unfortunate pleasure of working with multiple legal firms prior to working with MARINO. We originally hired MARINO's law firm based in the greater Philadelphia area in 2009 when we were sued by a large competitor in an act of competitive warfare and an attempt of unfair gain. MARINO right from the get go was refreshingly competent & different, in addition to his fierce reputation for unparalleled success with trial law. The warranty industry is an extremely complicated, regulated and multi tiered industry that is NOT understood easily to a layman. MARINO, who governed over & handled the case, not only grasped the nature of this highly complicated business infrastructure quickly, saving us THOUSANDS & thousands of dollars in time spent "educating" the attorney, Marino also had a solid & firm understanding of business in general which in turn created a synergy & flow with Client & Attorney relationship enabling us to concentrate on trial preparation & strategy as opposed to struggling to get your attorney to understand where the meat of the conflict lied. It was impressive & gave us not only hope but courage! We were determined to fight & go all the way. Watching Marino's sound & intensely calculated strategy unfold throughout the deposition process was something to experience and humorous at times when he would flawlessly, yet with poise & elegance expose one lie after another. MARINO would confuse & trap the liar with ease. It was brilliant. He was so excellent the case never made it to trial. One weeks before trial was to begin, the Competition caved & went for a settlement out of fear. We walked away with an awarded 2.5 Million dollar settlement. Rightfully so. I HIGHLY HIGHLY! RECOMMEND Marino for any legal affair, struggle or battle you are faced with. MARINO will forever be our legal advisor & warrior. We continue our relationship up until this day. In closing, sometime during the first trial preparation & encounter with MARINO, we found out through conversation that Marino was an Olympic athlete in the sport of gymnastics in his youth! The man is not only physically handsome but also has the demeanor & flair of an Olympiad in the courtroom! To me he is superior to all & simply amazing. THANK YOU Steven Marino! We sleep much better at night because of you.

His self-confidence, agreeable personality, effective and efficient communications skills were essential and constant. During many stressful situations, he responsed positively as an active listener and supporter. Michael Thomas Sweeney, successfully settled a complicated lawsuit for me and 19 other clients. Mr. Sweeney was thorough, responsive, and informative. Mr. Sweeney's intelligence, persistance, and experiece were invaluable to settle our case. The lawsuit was against a restaurant we all worked for and the company was cheating us of our rightful pay. Through research, investigation, and many numbers, Michael Sweeney got to the bottom of it. And in doing so got us all what was rightfully ours. I was so grateful to have a professional such as Mr. Sweeney heading our case. He is reliable, reachable, skilled, and effective. I would use Mr. Sweeney again and I highly recommend him.

Very skilled lawyers who not only aggressively pursued our case but helped us understand and manage an overwhelming amount of medical bills and insurance claims. They kept us informed at every step of the way. They were always available to answer our questions and spend the time necessary to make sure we understood our options. We could not have asked for better representation from our lawyers. We felt they genuinely care about us, not only our legal well-being, but our financial and medical well-being. We would give them the very highest recommendation.

I met Wayne under horrible conditions. A trip to Puerto Rico ended in an automobile accident. Once I returned to the states, I was referred to Wayne for my case. He makes a very scary and trying time manageable. He explains his process and his plans, and walks you through step by step. The support staff is great as well. Everyone knows you by name and never forgets you, even 20 years later. Unfortunately I've had to use Wayne's services several times, but even for issues that aren't personal injury, I know I can always count on Wayne!

When my family & I made that first call to the Rothenberg Firm we didn't have a clue as to what to expect. All we knew was that we were faced with a tragic situation that would change our lives forever. There isn't enough money in the world that will bring my family back to normal, but from the minute they agreed to take our case I knew we were in the best hands. Throughout this entire process there was never ever a time where my family & I were not informed as to where they were in our case. Any calls that were made for silly or just curious questions were taken with such empathy that it was mind blowing!. We knew we had the right team representing us. No one knows why we experience and go through the things that we do, but knowing that there is a group/team of Professionals that will stand by your side is Priceless!!! I tell you no lies when I say that the entire office staff played a major roll in comforting my family & I. And to the man who made it all possible... Mr Adam Drexler my family & I send you a special thank you for most of all being an incredible human being, and for amazing job on our case throughout. You will forever be remembered and your business card will stay in my wallet for life. I pray that I never have to use it again, but just knowing that i have it on me and you are just a phone call away is incredibly comforting. 5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH FOR THE JOB THE ROTHENBERG FIRM DID FROM MY FAMILY. I GIVE 5 ADDITIONAL STARS IN EVERY CATEGORY FOR GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND EXCELLENCE!

Kristin Teufel (Esquire) is a Lundy Law Lawyer that embraced my injury case with the following: (1) compassion for my three broken ribs and balloon type elbow contusion, (2) provided information pertaining to medical & legal procedures which eliminated confusion & prepared me for the upcoming processes, (3) after two years, Ms. Teufel's monitoring of the healing process was completed, (4) efficiently organized procedural tactics which ensured an immediate acceptable settlement agreement by the insurance company & myself and (5) after three months following the settlement, a "follow up" was required for disconcerted accusations made by the Rawlings Company (medical insurance), “Your attorney has not responded to our inquiries, nor has he or she acknowledged representation of you.” This was totally an inaccurate statement because I received copies of letters that transpired between the Rawlings Co. & Ms. Teufel's office. Therefore, Ms. Teufel immediately put her professionalism to work with the following statement, "I will take care of it for you." and a resolution letter to the Rawlings Co. made it all disappear. My reply letter to Ms. Teufel contained the following statement: Kristin Teufel this is how I see you “Successful” “Success is not measured in dollars and cents, but rather in terms of how determined you are to persevere, how committed you are to maintain an unbending integrity and how willing you are to stay the course when surrounded by doubters.”

What a Personal Injury Lawyer Can Do for You

A personal injury lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been physically or emotionally injured due to the negligence or wrongful actions of another party. Whether you've been hurt in a car accident, suffered a slip and fall, or experienced medical malpractice, a personal injury attorney works to ensure you receive fair compensation for your injuries. They can help you recover damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.

Personal injury lawyers act as your advocate, navigating the legal system on your behalf and dealing with insurance companies to ensure you get the compensation you deserve. They understand how to handle complex legal matters and help you avoid common pitfalls.

When Should I Hire a Personal Injury Lawyer?

Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be beneficial in many situations where you've been harmed due to another's negligence. Some key scenarios include:

  • Severe injuries: If you've suffered significant or permanent injuries that result in substantial medical bills, a lawyer can help ensure you are fairly compensated.
  • Long-term or permanent disability: Injuries that affect your ability to work or require ongoing medical treatment are complex, and a lawyer can help estimate long-term damages.
  • Disputed liability: If the responsible party or their insurance company denies liability for your injury, a lawyer can gather evidence and advocate on your behalf.
  • Insurance company lowball offers: Insurers often try to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible. A lawyer can negotiate to get you a fair settlement.
  • Medical malpractice claims: Injuries caused by a doctor, nurse, or healthcare provider due to negligence require a personal injury lawyer experienced in medical malpractice law.
  • Exposure to hazardous substances: If you've been injured due to exposure to toxins, chemicals, or dangerous substances, a lawyer can help pursue legal action.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process is crucial, especially if you're unsure of the full extent of your injuries or damages.

What Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Do?

A personal injury lawyer provides a wide range of services to guide you through the legal process and maximize your compensation. They can:

  • Evaluate your case: A lawyer will assess the strength of your claim and determine whether you have a viable case.
  • Investigate the incident: Gathering evidence such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, and expert opinions is key to building a strong case.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies: Lawyers handle communications with insurance companies to ensure you receive a fair settlement and aren't taken advantage of.
  • File a lawsuit if necessary: If a fair settlement can't be reached, the lawyer can file a personal injury lawsuit on your behalf and represent you in court.
  • Help calculate damages: This includes medical expenses, lost wages, future medical needs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.
  • Prepare and file legal documents: Lawyers handle all the paperwork and deadlines associated with your case, including filing motions and discovery requests.
  • Represent you at trial: If your case goes to trial, the lawyer will argue your case before a judge and jury to obtain the compensation you deserve.

How Are Personal Injury Lawyers Paid?

Most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win your case, either through settlement or a court judgment. Here’s how it works:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer will take a percentage of the settlement or award, typically between 25% and 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the stage at which it's resolved.
  • Costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer may deduct other costs associated with the case, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs. These expenses are often advanced by the lawyer and repaid out of the settlement.
  • No upfront payment: Since the lawyer’s fee is contingent on winning, you usually don’t pay anything upfront.

Always discuss the lawyer’s fee structure during your consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Personal Injury Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a personal injury lawyer depends on the specifics of your case and the lawyer’s fee structure. However, since most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, the amount you pay will depend on the outcome of your case. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Contingency fees: Typically range from 25% to 40% of the settlement or award. The percentage may increase if the case goes to trial or requires an appeal.
  • Other costs: In addition to the lawyer's fee, you may be responsible for case-related expenses such as expert witness fees, medical record retrieval fees, and court costs. These are often deducted from your settlement, so you won't have to pay out of pocket.

While the cost may seem high, hiring an experienced lawyer can significantly increase the amount you recover, making it a worthwhile investment.

Top Questions to Ask a Personal Injury Lawyer

Before hiring a personal injury lawyer, it's essential to ask questions to ensure you’re choosing the right representation. Here are some important questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with personal injury cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has handled cases involving similar injuries or accidents.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a contingency fee and what percentage they will take from any settlement or award.
  3. How long will my case take?
While it's hard to predict, a lawyer can give you an estimate based on similar cases they’ve handled.
  4. How often do you take cases to trial?
Some lawyers prefer to settle quickly, while others are more comfortable going to court if necessary.
  5. Will you personally handle my case?
In larger firms, junior lawyers or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it's important to know who will be managing your claim.
  6. Do you have references from past clients?
Speaking with past clients can provide valuable insight into the lawyer’s effectiveness and professionalism.

How to Check the Credibility of a Personal Injury Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible personal injury lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any history of disciplinary actions.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, and Google reviews can provide insight into the lawyer's reputation and client satisfaction.
  • Look at their track record: Review their experience with personal injury cases, particularly how many cases they’ve successfully resolved or taken to trial.
  • Ask for references: Credible lawyers should be willing to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their work.
  • Check professional memberships: Lawyers who are members of respected organizations, like the American Association for Justice (AAJ), often have a solid reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a personal injury lawyer, prepare the following:

  • Detailed account of the accident: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, and locations. Include any witnesses or police reports if available.
  • Medical records and bills: Bring any documentation of your injuries, treatments, and associated medical costs.
  • Insurance information: Provide your insurance details and any communication you’ve had with the other party’s insurance company.
  • Employment and income records: If your injury has impacted your ability to work, bring proof of lost wages or reduced earning capacity.
  • Photos or videos: If you have photos of the accident scene, your injuries, or property damage, bring them to your consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare a list of questions to ask, including how the lawyer will handle your case and what you can expect in terms of timeline and outcome.

By preparing thoroughly for your first consultation, you’ll help the lawyer understand your case more quickly and get a better sense of your legal options.
