Absolute Scam and Unprofessional Behavior
Jeremy,
I hired you to help with a bogus speeding ticket, where I have clear dash cam footage showing my speed, location, and the officer’s actions before and after the stop. The officer claimed I was going 80 in a 45, wrote the wrong location of the stop, and the speed limit on that road was actually 55. My speedometer was at 61, clearly shown on the dash cam. Yet, you had the nerve to tell me you could “maybe” reduce the ticket to a 14-over, despite knowing the entire ticket was a joke.
After this ridiculous introduction, I called the very next day—over a month before the court date—and requested a refund. Your desk lady assured me I’d get a full refund. But today, I get a call telling me the case was continued (even though I fired you), and now you’re only offering half of my payment back because you “spent 20 minutes” on my case? That’s a load of crap.
Then, to top it off you have the audacity to threaten me with legal action if I dispute this scam through my bank. You’re not even competent enough to handle a simple case like this and now you’re acting like a crook. I honestly feel bad for your firm that you’re so desperate for this money, but I’ll be sure to keep on sharing my experience the community.
Keep the half—you clearly need it more than I do.

One of the best experiences if not the best with a lemon law attorney, and I had two previous experiences.
He gave me very sound advice, and it was free which was strange and unexpected. He was genuinely looking out for my best interest. Additionally, he was calling me nearly every 2-3 weeks to check on the status of my matter, which he did not have to do at all. Again, all this was new to me and to my previous experiences with attorneys.
I would definitely use his services and expertise in the future if I ever need it without any hesitation. Very highly recommended.

When I first came to Travis, I was confused and lacking confidence with the Workers’ Comp legal system. Prior to speaking more about Travis, please allow me to explain how I had a 2nd chance to receive excellent legal representation, and meet Travis. My original attorney (not Travis Payne) felt my case had become too complicated, and asked me to settle for what I felt was an inappropriate amount, or pay him more $ money than the previously agreed upon rate. This 1st attorney contacted my former employer’s legal team, and let them know I was soon to be without representation. I felt this was likely done to scare me into paying this attorney what I felt was borderline extortion. Maybe this money was needed to keep up the payments in the opulently decorated fancy facility? What I do know is within days, I received packages of files containing literally hundreds of legal documents. My former employer indicated since I was without an attorney, I would have “X” days to answer many questions or else. I felt I was incompetent to represent myself, and felt I was being intimidated by my former employer. I was under tremendous emotional stress, and suffering from physical pain trying to recover from a serious workplace injury. I was feeling nervous, and knew I didn't have the skill set to manage my case. Unable to think clearly, I contemplated simply dropping my case. After a few less than friendly phone calls from people representing my former employer, I began seeking representation again. I called several attorneys, but struggled to find someone who seemed to care or had sincere interest in my case. I learned some workers' compensation attorneys only seemed interested in easy cases where a person had lost a limb (or worse) during an accident. I was glad I hadn’t lost a limb, however began to feel my situation was hopeless. Here's the good part. I thank my lucky stars for having the opportunity to speak with and meet Travis Payne. When I first met him, he came down the stairs of his modest facility, and had on a Jimi Hendrix T-shirt and jeans. 20 minutes later, I realized I met a true Salt-of-the-Earth Dude. In an hour, Travis taught me more about my rights than my previous attorney had in nearly a year. Travis even advised me of benefits I should have applied for months prior to meeting him. Travis told me, “Write this down, this is really important. I can’t believe your previous attorney hadn’t advised you to, but you still have time.….” Well, I felt and still feel Travis was a well-timed gift. I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to truly thank him enough. He advised me during our 1st call I had a strong case. He was honest, and said it would be a lot of work, but he'd be happy to help. He organized my case quickly, and instructed my former employer to stop contacting me. What a relief! Travis’ team was outstanding! Angie in particular was always exceptionally kind. They sent me a copy of all communications to my former employer, and I never felt in the dark. They also never pressured me to settle. Travis is not a doctor, however his handling of my case genuinely helped my emotional health. Later, my case settled for 800% more $ than the previous attorney asked me to accept. Plus, thanks to Travis’ professional advice, I continue to receive very necessary benefits which I wouldn’t have known I qualified for were it not for Travis’ compassionate, honest, professional advice. Regretfully, I remain permanently disabled, however am able to live above the poverty line thanks to Travis’ ability to advocate for me, and help me see the big picture. My only regret would be not having gone to Travis 1st. I have referred family and friends to Travis, because I feel his rare combination of Honesty, Caring, and Fighting skills are truly hard to find. If you’re finding yourself like I was, and simply unsure what to do with regard to your on the job accident, I would highly recommend calling Travis first.

Approximately 7 years ago (2010), I was injured while working. My employer did not deny any claims and arranged for the medical care that I needed. Unfortunately, after several surgeries, it became clear to my doctor that I would not be able to return to work in the capacity that I did before the injury. As such, my employer started the conversation regarding medical retirement. Up to the point of retirement, I didn't feel that I necessarily needed an attorney. However, when I started moving towards the inevitable medical retirement, I retained Mr. Payne. I was impressed with him, even before hiring him. I remember calling/emailing Mr. Payne if I had a question about the work comp situation. This was BEFORE I hired him to represent me. I think it says a lot about his character and his desire to help people that get into situations like I did.
After retaining Mr. Payne, he walked me through my journey of retirement at age 27. His knowledge of the work comp system is quite impressive. I must also add that I met with 2 other attorneys before retaining Mr. Payne. The others that I contacted just seemed to really be a little preoccupied with other cases. They also were not familiar with my employers medical retirement process. However, Mr. Payne knew all about the medical retirement stuff with my employer.
I am in my 4th year of retirement, and, to this day continue to have Mr. Payne represent me. He has a wealth of knowledge because he has been doing his job for many years. I have been to hearings with the industrial commission and was very pleased that he grilled the Vocational Rehab folks.
I would certainly recommend Mr. Payne to anyone dealing with work comp mess.

I was referred to Eldreth Law Firm by the NC Bar Association and I felt that the attorney answered everything they could during my initial consultation on a real estate matter (instead of trying to draw more money out of me). I later retained them for a related matter and Attorney Eldreth did a ton of work looking into the specifics of my case. It turned out that I wasn't likely to prevail. Instead of generating billable hours on futile actions, they were straightforward with the news and even refunded my initial retainer. I appreciate that they took my case seriously and I appreciate their integrity when they discovered it probably wasn't going to end in my favor. I'd highly recommend them for real estate matters, and they would be the first I would call if something came up under their areas of expertise.

Mr. Cecil was extremely helpful to me on a case involving my daughter. I called Mr. Cecil in the morning, he was not in so I left a message. He called me back on his lunch break. I explained my situation and he said he would look into it and call me back as soon as he could. Mr. Cecil called me back at 5:00 with the good news that my case was now closed and another case with my daughter (that he wasn't even working on) was also closed.

Mr Cecil represented me on a Deferred Prosecution Revocation. Everyone said we wouldn't win this case, and that my deferred would be revoked. I was down and out, and didn't know what I would do. Mr Cecil went in, and presented our case, and we won! Many attorneys told me they've never seen an attorney win one of those cases. Sean Cecil helped me get a second chance at complying with the terms of my program, and it has truly changed my life. I now have a 10 month old son, and just recently started my own business. I don't even know where to begin. I was injured 33000+ ft in the air during a flight. I did not know what to do first after dealing with doctors, surgeons, and nurses while trying to heal. I called a large legal firm that advertises in North Carolina to see if they could help me. After being grilled like I was the problem, my sister-in-law who lives in Memphis, researched attorneys in my area and gave me a choice of 2. Well I called James Crouse and the first thing he told me was that he would help me put a letter together for the airline and he would do it for free. Then he said "you don't have to go with me as your lawyer, but you will need a good lawyer in order to handle the big airline." I felt so taken care of and he was very honest about everything from the start. He worked on my case for over 4 years. He prepared my husband and I for everything that could happen.
Jim came to our house when I could not walk and he continued to come to the house when I was healing. I could ask him any question and get an answer even if it was one that was not in my favor. I never want to have to go through something like this again, but if I have to, I will call Jim as soon as possible. Even opposing counsel liked him and that makes a huge difference in the outcome of a case.
Just FYI...... he has entertaining stories about his life that go on for days! He kept me on my toes. Thank you Attorney Crouse!

I contacted Jim Crouse after my husband was killed in a small plane crash while learning to fly. If tthe accident were due to equipment malfunction, I wanted to keep it from happening again. Jim relentlessly investigated all angles and exhausted all resources while remaining kind and sensitive to my concerns and desires. While we weren't able to determine a cause, Jim obtained a satisfactory settlement with one of the flight instructor's insurers and I am confident our best effort was made. I would recommend Jim for his professional expertise as well as his personal sensitivity. I'm grateful to Jim for his help during a very difficult time.

I had the opportunity of working with Mr. Crause regarding a FAA infraction. The case was complex and required many hours of research and fact finding. Many times I had thought that we had came to a dead end road. These roadblocks had given me the feeling of wanting to give up. Somehow, Mr Crause was able to put it in four wheel drive and go through these road blocks. His knowledge and ability to keep me focused was something I never expected out of a lawyer. He was also able to relay a peace of mind in an otherwise troubling situation for me.
Being such a complex case, I was worried about the ability to pay for the services. Mr. Crause was able to consolidate and multi task using every available minute in each hour. These tactics reduced the bill beyond my expectations.
We have finished work on my case but still stay in touch over the months. This is just another reason why I am writing this review and recommend him to everyone I talk to in the aviation community.

Had the pleasure of working with Mr Williams. Upon his hiring, he was very thorough in explaining all details to the processes we had to go through as well as actions to be taken. He remained in touch with me to provide updates. Documents were frequently sent for my own review and he always remained responsive during the entire time. My worker's comp case began in 2005 while employed with the state. It dragged on forever as I was shuffled doctor to doctor and given the run-around. I was not hurt seriously enough to warrant a court hearing but did need advice as to how to bring my case to closure and still receive a due impairment award. Ben didn't know me and still took the time to properly advise me so that I could handle the case on my own. Because of him, my case is finally coming to an end. I had a 5-star experience with Brent Adams and Associates. Specifically, Attorney Diana Devine is amazing. After fighting with the insurance company and suffering with pain for over 2 years, my case was sent to her in the litigation department to take it to court. She called and spoke to me often, even gave me her personal cell phone number. Every step and process that came up we had a meeting beforehand that she explained everything so I could understand and helped me mentally prepare for what the defense would say or do. In the end we spent several hours together at a mediation, and she argued to settle my case for more than what I expected.
