Midway through a "routine" adoption we found ourselves faced with changing Adoption department positions, biased caseworkers, and what felt like the world against us. With his strong sense of justice, keen knowledge of the law, and excellent relationships with the local legal and adoption communities, Gary worked with us through multiple court briefs and trials to finalize our adoption. Had it not been for his level-headed, no-nonsense ability to chart the logical course through very emotional waters, we surely would have lost our minds as well as our family. We were referred to Mr. Plavnick in 2013 by friends who had retained his services in about 2004 for their foster-adopt process. Their confidence in him gave us the assurance we needed to move ahead using his services to complete our California Independent Adoption. Our process should have been straightforward, but as these things go, there were hurdles. Throughout our case he was self-assured, but never arrogant. He was thorough in action and always respectful of our time and limited resources. At no time did we feel a tinge of regret for hiring him. He is personable and professional, and remains on our list when friends are in need of legal help.

Two years ago I was seriously rear ended on the freeway and my neck and shoulder took the majority of impact. After the accident I sought out legal counsel with 3 attorneys. And I will be honest, I was originally apprehensive to file a claim using an attorney. I did not want to get into a situation where my attorney would exaggerate my condition and accident just to get more money. I like to consider myself an honest person and I couldn't live with myself if I got strung into something that made me feel dishonest after. I needed medical treatments, I deserved compensation, but I was scared bringing in an attorney would snowball and get out of control. After discussing my car accident with the 3 different attorneys only one made me feel comfortable, Shahbaz.
Shahbaz and his talented paralegal Amanda became my legal dream team. I was never once pressured to do anything I did not feel comfortable doing. They listened to me, they understood what it was that I was looking for and they delivered. Any time I had questions or wanted an update they would respond within 24 hours by text, email or phone call. Insurance cases are known to move slowly and seem to take forever, so even if the update was that there was no update I appreciated not having to wait to get the response.
Considering I initially went into this claim with no major expectations of getting more than my medical bills covered and maybe a little for the trouble, Shahbaz was able to get the policy limit of the man who hit me and we settled for $50,000. It is no secret that in the current world we live in insurance companies are paying out less and less or simply refuse to pay. Shahbaz fought hard against the insurance company and got me what I never could have done alone.

My wife and I have been working with her oldest brother (85 yrs old) to help him with a Will and a Living Trust. For the past 3 years we have traveled from our home in Durand Mi. to San Diego to provide him with advice and provide any help he may need to get everything right. The more we worked the more complicated and confusing this procedure became, OMG were we Stumped. This year we decided we needed professional help. So, what do you do when your 2000 miles away and don't really know anybody in a big city like San Diego, GOOGLE IT! That's exactly what we did and came up with a bunch of names of attorneys that claim to be the best anywhere. We started making calls to see who we liked the best and would be able to take care of our issues. We left voice mails and asked to have someone contact us to set up a meeting. We encountered a few who were vague and after listening to what we needed really didn’t seem too interested. Then Jason, called us and we were so happy with his attitude and wiliness to complete the needed documents on a very short notice. Everyone in that firm seemed to want to help us get everything right, signed, and registered they even worked through the weekend. The team was amazing in helping us with our will and trust! They were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, supportive and patient with us as we figure out the best path forward to suit some of our very particular needs. It’s obviously not a fun or easy topic to discuss and they were so understanding of that giving us options and suggestions that could be relevant to us. And allowing us the time we needed to sort things out amongst our family. Sometimes we wouldn’t be able to resolve things easily so we would be at a standstill for a while between me and my husband but they were great about checking in regularly without creating any additional pressure. I have used Richard Fahey for several different concerns, including a dispute arising out of a construction project. He is also very knowledgeable in working with agencies pertaining to social services. Richard is an extremely honest individual. Prior to retaining him, he listened to my problems and attempted to help me via several phone calls without charge. After it was evident that I needed to retain an attorney, he has always displayed the utmost in professionalism. Richard is versed in a wide variety of subjects, however should he need additional resources, he meticulously researches the area in question.
