Paul Matiasic represented me in an accident case where I almost got ripped off by the insurance company. The case took a little longer, but Paul and his team (Justin White) never gave up on me. They called/email every week to make sure I was feeling okay and gave me the status of the case.
I felt at ease dealing with them. They are very human and care about their clients more than the money. They are the type of lawyers you want to have on your side, the type you can trust!

If you find yourself in need of an excellent attorney, I highly recommend the law office of Matiasic & Johnson. This was a first for me and I will always remember the experience of working with Paul Matiasic and Scott Johnson in pursuing our wrongful death claim. I was turned down several times and then was referred to this firm. After presenting Paul and Scott with the facts as I saw them they took on my case. The two as well as their staff was professional and tentative it felt as if I was their only client. We started the case in 2015 and I was advised from day one how difficult it would be but I was kept informed along the way. Any time I had a question or needed clarification Paul or Scott was there. I found Mr. Matiasic online and he was the only one of three other lawyers who responded wanting more info. The others did not want to persue the case, thinking it hard to prove. Mr. Matiasic was the only one who asked to meet with me personally to discuss the case and it was only with Mr. Matiasic asking questions and explaining to me the what we needed to prove, that I was able to give him the solid information (photos) that resulted in a successful settlement. He worked with and for me from the initial contact in May 2007 until the settlement in Dec 2007, keeping me appraised at every step of the negotiations. I was more than pleased with the result.

I have been fortunate to have Oliver Vallejo represent me for over a year. I hired Mr. Passaglia for two different criminal matters, one in Alameda County and the other in San Mateo County. He negotiated one of the matters to a result I was very happy with. The other matter was set for a jury trial but the D.A. dismissed on the morning of trial.
I give him the ultimate rating. He was always available, really knew his way around the Courtroom, and most importantly got the result that saved my job.

At first when I could not post bail JP visited me in jail a lot, kept me sane. Then he got my bail lowered at a bail hearing and I eventually posted.
Throughout my case he always kept me in the loop and invited me over to his office in SF to review evidence. We ended up settling for something I was very happy with.

Had a motorcycle accident a year ago, was overwhelmed with the amount of work and hassle it would take to deal with my claim and get the medical issues sorted out between the insurance companies. Highly recommended! Eric and Mikalya handled my case and were a pleasure to work with. I had habitability issues with my apartment. Even after repeated attempts to force my property manager to deal with them, they remained unsolved.
I had a quick consultation with Eric who said that I did have a case. Recently it was settled via mediation with a great result. During the process Eric and Mikalya were very helpful and very responsive. I would always get an email back from Eric or Mikalya the same day.

Look. Up in the sky. It's a bird, it's a plane. No, it's Conor Kelly and Joseph Nicholson, the best of the best. I tripped on some uneven pavement at a gas station and had a very bad fall. I was one of the unfortunate people who got caught up in the recall of hip replacement hardware. At the time I was in need I was unable to find a single firm in my area of Portsmouth, VA who was taking clients with this particular problem. I contacted Walkup, Melodia through their website and was put in contact with Conor Kelly. He was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. My husband and I are an over-the-road trucking team that owns and operates a one-truck business. In March 2019 we were involved in a highway collision in Oregon that resulted in our truck and trailer being totaled, and both of us being injured. We were out of work for over a year.
We were not at fault but knew we had to find representation. Since the crash took place outside of our home state, we began calling lawyers in the Oregon area. We had no luck. We couldn’t find someone familiar with the trucking industry, and the firms we did reach out to either outright declined to represent us or recommended other firms. And the one attorney we initially started to work with, who we found through a trucking advocacy group, completely failed us. Ultimately, none of them worked out.
Until we found Sandy Cipinko. We met with him in our home state of Arizona and after our first meeting, knew he was our guy. I would like to recommend Mr. Sanford Cipinko who represented me in a personal injury law suit concerning a significant claim involving a large established insurance company. Mr. Cipinko with the assistance of his well trained office staff handled the case with alacrity. All court and other legal filings where accomplished quickly and I was kept well informed as to the meaning and progress of the proceedings. As expected, the Insurance Company pulled every trick they could, including intimidation by suggesting that I lied and was carless enough that I purposely ran into the cross walk and thus was hit by their client’s oncoming car. Eventually the case was settled to my satisfaction with the helpful advice and counsel of Mr. Cipinko. Of upmost importance, Mr. Cipinko is honest and forthright. My experience with Mr. Cipinko has been excellent and I would highly recommend him as legal counsel for any personal injury litigations.

Carlos won our case for us when we were pushed out of our home by our landlord in San Francisco. A rent controlled home that I resided in for over 10 years starting in 2004. He didn't give up on us in a battle of a very big SF real estate company versus an individual family and and in the end we came out on top. He is very professional and a very kind person. I was referred to Wesley Wakeford in the fall of 2007 by a retiring personal injury attorney that did not have adequate time to devote to my case. I had recently been hit by a car and in addition to suffering from nerve damage, trauma and not being able to work, the insurance companies were unwilling to compensate me for my medical bills and associated expenses due to a discrepancy in the police report. Despite my lack of financial resources Wesley was wiling to work with me and saw to it that I was able to receive consistent medical care by arranging a lien for services with my various healthcare providers. I found it pleasurable working with Wesley Wakeford as he was the first really good lawyer that I've ever met. Most of the legal professionals seemed, politically biased, semi-professional, and arrogant. I would think that such an important service would attract the most highly rated, professional people. Unfortunately that is not always the case.
My experience with Mr. Wakeford gave me a new view of the world of law. While I'm sure he did not make a great deal of money with my case; not once did I get the impression that I was not as important as the next client. Mr. Wakeford worked very hard to assist me in getting through the process as easily as possible. My automobile accident left me injured, angry, and confused but with the help of The Wakeford Firm things got sorted out in a clear and equitable manner. I also find it very interesting that Wes was there to guide me through Doctor Visits, car rentals, insurance matters and settlement negotiations. I had virtually no experience in these matters, but it was obvious to me that I had one the most caring and skillful lawyers around to help me.
I hope to never need this type of service again; but I would certainly retain Wes Wakeford should the need arise.

Mr. Saeltzer is an outstanding personal injury lawyer. He represented my teen-aged daughter who had sustained a severe burn. He was very empathetic to her situation, spent a lot of time with us explaining procedures and strategy and was completely accessible when we needed to ask him any questions.
He did not give us any false hope about the outcome. He prepared us very well for the depositions and the settlement meeting. I was extremely impressed with his knowledge of the law, his ability to accurately interpret the intent of the law and his strategy when dealing with the lawyers from the insurance company. His sense of timing and just how far we could push enabled my daughter to recieve a much greater settlement than we had expected or even hoped for, but one she completely deserved.
He helped us through the process of figuring out a tax free annuity and connected us with an excellent annuity expert who worked with us to finish the process. Spencer Pahlke of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Shchoenbeger is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.
It is as simple as that. Do yourself a favor and hand all of the legal stuff to Spencer. Don't worry about anything he or his excellent staff does. I guarantee you he will make the best out of any rough situation both legally and financially.
Spencer is trustworthy. Even someone else with a bad previous lawyer experience (For example another person who had to decide between their two parents as a child and lost half their family because of another unfortunate past lawyer experience) could trust Spencer.
Lastly, if you are not lucky enough to get Spencer, I am pretty sure you will also be in good hands with one of his other legal colleagues at the Walkup firm. Although I do not have any direct experience with the other lawyers there, I think Spencer (being a partner at the firm) prefers to work with good people and an excellent staff.

Spencer did a tremendous job representing me. I was hit by a car as I waited at a stoplight on my bicycle, and sustained a severe traumatic brain injury. This injury has affected my life in my life in countless ways. Words cannot express how truly grateful I am because of Mr. Scott Kalkin. Unfortunately I had multiple upper extremity surgeries in 2012 which left me disabled and unable to work. I had to utilize my long term disability policy from my employer that I paid for since 2000. I did not understand at the time that I purchased an Erisa plan which is a very complex and difficult to understand policy. My doctors were wonderful at documenting my condition and filling out mounds of paperwork that advised my long term carrier that I was clearly disabled and unable to work. Unfortunately this did not matter to my long term carrier. I was advised by my carrier in 2013 that I was no longer eligible for my much needed medical benefits due to the Erisa laws and I would be receiving a letter with an explanation on how to appeal in the mail soon. Needless to say, I felt defeated and exhausted. I did extensive research on long term disability attorneys and decided to call Mr. Scott Kalkin at Roboostoff and Kalkin. Not only was Mr. Scott Kalkin kind and understanding but he took the time to explain the complexities of having a long term policy governed by Erisa. Mr. Scott Kalkin is extremely knowledgeable and is an expert on all of the complexities of long term disability policies. I’m happy to say that after hiring Mr. Scott Kalkin in 2013, he contacted my long term and to this day, which is now 2019, I am still receiving the much needed benefits that I deserve. He removed the burden and frustrations of having to personally deal with my long term carrier. I was recently in a difficult--and frankly, scary--dispute with my landlord, and initially felt completely intimidated and overwhelmed by the situation. I had the misfortune of running head on into a tractor in the dark at night who was as driving on the wrong side of a country roadway without proper lighting, creating a hazard. My head slammed into the windshield and I haven't felt the same since.
The tractor operator denied liability, said that other motorists went around him, the accident was my fault.
The idiot nearly killed me.
My lawyer Nate James and his awesome case manager, contacted their insurance carrier with a demand for $250,000 before we filed the lawsuit.
The insurance company offered me $750. I'm posting their offer so you can see it for yourself.
Nate and his team went to work and the job they did was phenomenal. They found me the medical care I needed. Because I was without health insurance for a long time, I never really treated, and suffered in silence.
To make it more complicated, I moved from Brentwood California up to Tacoma Washington. I started a family. I was working as a manager. To the outside world I looked fine, but I wasn't.
