Extremely professional and compassionate! If she says is going to do something, she is doing it NOW! Andrea Sugar handled an out of state custody/visitation for us and we were over 700 miles away so if not for google sights such as this one, we would not have found her and went with her on solely the reviews. I was referred to Mr. Turnbull not long ago and he represented me in a crunch when I was being charged with misdemeanors and a bogus felony trumped charge. Throughout the whole process I was nervous but I never failed to lose trust in him down to my final indictment hearing which resulted in my charges being suspended. All I can say is that I am glad that he was my attorney as he was knowledgeable, reasonably priced and reassuring of the outcome and he was right on point! I hired Doug as my lawyer in 2016 when I was in a hit-and-run car accident as a passenger. Roger Weinberg is not only a compassionate person, he is a highly competent and effective lawyer. We worked with Roger for two years in our case regarding our mother's unfortunate neglect at an assisted living facility. Ms. Ortega helped defend me against a debt collection lawsuit from Midland Funding LLC. This lawsuit was the first time I had sought legal help.
During my initial meeting, I was already high-strung from thinking about this case. My first impression of Ms. Ortega was that she is experienced and knowledgeable with this type of litigation, and that she commands a strong presence of confidence. I also felt the price for representation was extremely fair. Ms. Ortega even supplied me with very responsive pro bono contacts. After taking day to decide with my spouse, I retained Ms. Ortega.
Ms. Ortega made of point of saying she could only recommend certain courses of action and that she could not guarantee any particular result. The strength with which she emphasized this threw me a bit. My spouse, however, had had a lot of experience with legal proceedings as a guardian ad litem and told me this type of language was very common. My spouse also felt Ms. Ortega was extremely confident and signaled she could definitely take some positive action on this case. Therefore, I was fortunate to see not only the legal disclaimers but also into the confidence behind them, from a different lens.
I felt Ms. Ortega was clear in communicating the process of the case and what information she needed from me. From my perspective, the case was initially a very emotional situation. Before the outcome, I reflected that I was fortunate to connect with Ms. Ortega for help in this matter and that I was benefiting from the best representation possible. Jared represented both my wife and myself after a distracted driver hit us pulling into our driveway. Our initial instinct was to settle immediately, but Jared explained both the pros and the cons in our unique situation of the settlement process. He did not pressure us to wait for a larger settlement offer (although my wife and I collectively decided to after reflection).
His knowledge of having worked in the insurance industry prior was the asset that eventually gave a positive resolution and an amicable settlement. We were not trying to get rich, just be compensated for our injuries and loss of wages fairly.
