We were in Vancouver visiting family when I tripped and fell in a parking lot, breaking my left shoulder and ribs on my left side. My husband looked in the yellow pages and found Sara Schirato from Etengoff Pak Law Group. Sara came to the hotel and interviewed me with care and concern. I was driving for LYFT and after a minor fender bender (6 months past), I was surprised to get a court summons to pay the other guys insurance company the repair bill (about $5000). I thought LYFT had taken care of it but for whatever reason, they let it slip by without settling the problem. I started calling lawyers but w/o a personal injury component most would not even discuss it. Several referred me to Chris Rounds but I was a bit worried about how much it would cost! After a free consultation, I felt much better about the initial $1500 retainer. Chris quickly made some phone calls and wrote a letter and presto, Lyft settled the issue and I got a refund of almost $1000. I would highly recommend Chris as an ethical lawyer that explains your options very well.

In May of 2023, I received a call that no parent wants to receive. Two of my children(young adult and teen) had been in an altercation that resulted in both potentially needing medical care and facing assault charges. Which as both of their mother, was causing a lot of grief and stress.
Not only my minor had defied curfew and rules but my son had been involved.
My son was on his way to a military career and a life with his new family. My daughter was trying to heal and move into preparation for college. We received a summons for court 2 weeks after my son shipped off to basic training. We thought we had handled the horrible situation within the family, created a safety plan and set very harsh boundaries. Now, the state was pressing assault 4 charges.
I called my own father who is a federal attorney and asked what our next steps should be. He said hire an attorney. I scoured the internet and read through reviews. Skipping the ones that were unreal expectations not fulfilled. Mr. Priest was the only one that I could gather was going to handle the case as we needed.
We called Mr. Priest, he gave us a reality check. He did not sugar coat the situation. He explained what we were facing and all possible outcomes. He did not give false hope. He made no promises. He explained a few ways to handle the case. I told my son Mr. Priest was a good choice.
Mr. Priest got started and with my son being in another state, again did not give us hope that a virtual attendance was a possibility and thoroughly explained the law surrounding domestic violence cases. We never once had any unrealistic outcomes which is HUGE in these situations. We followed every thing Mr. Priest advised.
When the original plan fell through, Mr. Priest had another one. Again, keeping us grounded in reality.
Today, we had a trial readiness hearing scheduled and Mr. Priest had filed a motion letting the courts know we had done everything within our family to insure nothing would happen again. My son’s case was dismissed.
For my son and myself, we are survivors of domestic abuse and watched our attacker walk free. We know that the court system’s time and resources could be better utilized in situations where people are at risk for horrible outcomes.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Mr. Priest is the best choice to represent you or your loved ones.

I honestly think this guy just didn't like me for some reason from the jump even though I paid him a considerable amount of money I couldn't afford in the first place he was unhelpful and sort of acted like I was dumb and burdening him at all times he didn't even get me a reasonable deal seeing as how I wasn't even driving at the time of my arrest as well as no real proof other than police lying in their reports I paid him thousands of dollars for him Literally to do nothing for me.

Mr. Bogar was the attorney for the defendant charged with Assault 2. I was the victim who filed charges. At the trial his cross examination was very tough on me. His client was guilty but that did not stop him from using every tactic he could. Fortunately for me, the evidence was overwhelming and the jury found the defendant guilty. However, Mr. Bogar was impressive. Even though he was representing the other side in a no win scenario, he was very professional and intelligent. If I ever end up needing a great attorney, Mr. Bogar is at the top of my list. He is very effective and commands respect from the prosecution side. His reputation is excellent.

I was already well into the process when I was referred to NW Injury Law Center. My feeling is had Jesse been holding my hand from the beginning things would have gone much smoother. If you've not been in an auto accident lately, there are many hoops to jump through and nobody is volunteering any information to help you. Avoid William Ball, unless you're looking for a milquetoast middleman who masquerades as a lawyer. I had the misfortunate of hiring him from Beaty Hatch during my dissolution. I went in the assumption that he was going to fight for me and resolve the dissolution in a timely fashion. That is all I asked for in our initial meeting, regardless of the outcome.
After just two months, I was so baffled by his unresponsiveness and lack of interest in the case (he'd routinely take days or weeks to reply to even simple questions, if he'd respond at all) that I asked him what additional compensation would incentivize him, to which his secretary replied that she would print out my last email for him. Imagine hiring a lawyer for 300 USD / hr who is so disorganized that he can't even keep track of client emails and needs a secretary to hold his hand. Well, you don't need to imagine. You can just hire William Ball.
As time went on, who the lawyer was between us become increasingly blurred. Numerous emails to the judge and opposing counsel were just him forwarding text I wrote with his name attached. Here are more instances of poor work on his part that I'd like to highlight.
1. Before the first "mediation" session with the opposing counsel in mid-April, I had made it extremely clear that I wanted to resolve the dissolution as quickly as possible. By that point, opposing counsel had two months to prepare. So what does Mr. Ball do just a week before mediation? He agrees with the opposing counsel to push it out two more weeks, so she can prepare more! I immediately emailed him asking why on earth he would do that, to which he basically replied, "oops, too late."
2. Mr. Ball failed to inform me that I was allowed to hire my own business valuator to valuate my LLC. I only found out later because another lawyer told me. Considering that this valuator's work contained factual errors and bad analysis, this kind of information would have been incredibly useful. Another lawyer reviewed Mr. Ball's work shortly after I fired him. Upon learning about his failure to recommend our own valuator, the other lawyer commented, "[This] seems UNBELIEVABLE and incredibly negligent."
3. During the second "mediation" session, Mr. Ball was given an opportunity to question the valuator's work. His efforts were nothing short of embarrassing. Instead of homing in numerous lines of evidence indicating that she had put little effort to her analysis or had relied on problematic assumptions, he spent forty minutes tossing her softball questions that did nothing to bring into question the credibility of her valuation.
4. The verdict of the "equalization" provided by the arbitrator included false information about statements made during "mediation". What did Mr. Ball do in response? Absolutely nothing. Not a peep of protest, despite acknowledging that the arbitrator's decision contained factual errors. I was dumbfounded. At that point, the reality sank in that I was just another case he could cram into his schedule and extract money from. I had spent months thinking, "OK, soon he's going start fighting. He's just waiting for the right moment to pounce." Nope. By the time I realized I had been had, it was too late.
The total amount I had to pay this firm for such low quality work is nothing short of horrifying. I gave a long list of grievances regarding his performance. His equally unprofessional manager, Valerie Nack, responded to with a cheeky claim that I'm merely disappointed by the outcome of the dissolution. No, let's not mince words: even if I had "won" (if such a thing can even happen in divorce), Mr. Ball is still incompetent. The outcome was unjust, even by Mr. Ball's own admission, but that is the arbitrator's fault, not Mr. Ball's fault. Mr. Ball was asked to perform a job with a certain level of quality and professionalism and he failed to do it. Not once have this firm offered any sort of apology. Not once was I offered a refund of any kind. Instead, they chose to harass me with collections.
