Patrick Curley is simply amazing! We were in the process of applying for Mass Health for our 98 year old mom who had recently been admitted to a nursing home facility and we ran into issues with a family trust. Patrick had reviewed the trust for us a few years prior to this admission and we were very pleased with his work. We didn't hesitate to reach out to him for his help. This was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we explained what the issues were he was on board. He took the pressure and stress of this daunting process away and went to work. We had a relatively complex estate issue surrounding a living trust and it was clear to see that we needed urgent help. Thankfully, we found the law office of Patrick Hurley who specializes in elder care and MassHealth Insurance. He and his team have been outstanding in the way they were able to handle our situation and put our minds at ease right from our first phone call with Deb Tura.
After multiple calls and remote meetings (due to covid-19) Patrick and his team helped us to understand the cumbersome process in order to obtain MassHealth Insurance for our Mom.
Without their help, knowledge and guidance, we would still be struggling - and in the wrong direction! Not only did he get our Mom on MassHealth, but he also negotiated a very substantial discount with the nursing home due to a one month gap difference in coverage.

Patrick and the team at Curley are amazing! From my early inquiries with Debbie all the way to the finish line their assistance was always generous, thoughtful, and considerate. My 77 year old mom lives at home alone and is having health issues. With the Curley teams help we got her estate planning done and got her on MassHealth. She now gets care through the state for 20 hours a day. My sister and I worked with Robin Gorenberg on our respective wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care proxies. Robin was extremely helpful and happy to assist with our multiple questions. It can be a very intimidating process of getting these documents in place and we felt so comfortable working with Robin. I appreciate that she took the time to educate us on what each document meant and the importance of the language. We had Robin look at our parent's documents (prepared by another law firm) and Robin was able to assist in making us understand the documents. My parents were so appreciative. I was referred to Alex and his paralegal assistant, Amy, by a friend of mine. In my opinion, personal references are worth their weight in gold as there are so many law offices competing for your business today. How do you choose? Which one should you trust? Well, I am pleased to say that I was delighted that I listened to my friend and contacted this law office. During my initial meeting with Alex and Amy they both took the time to explain, in detail, the steps that would be required to address my probate issue and how long each step would take and why. They made sure I was comfortable with their advice and recommendations. I have used many attorneys over many years for personal, probate and real estate transactions - some good and some bad. in September 2022 I was diagnosed with cancer. By July 2023 I found myself over whelmed with credit card and hospital bills. I contacted several attorneys. I hired Atty Bearce for what I thought going in would be a fairly simple, straightforward divorce with most things agreed upon up front. I liked that he had trial experience as well, but never expected it to be necessary in mine.
The situation evolved and got a lot more complicated unfortunately. I was very glad to have an experienced attorney, who saw several things coming that I frankly did not. He was always respectful of what I wanted to file for as an outcome, while providing advice on why different things would be a good idea or how they could backfire, while always leaving it ultimately up to me on how to proceed.
I could not be more grateful for both the ultimate outcome of the case, or for the professionalism and helpfulness of Atty Bearce throughout the process. He was always on top of things, reachable, and able to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and easy manner. The support staff at the office was equally friendly and helpful.
Made a difficult process that much easier.
Some specifics involved in my case: a more complicated division of assets, custody division and uniform support orders, discussing a real estate disposition that was definitely non standard, and ultimately having to file for a default judgement when the other party refused to participate in the proceedings. We tried formal mediation but the case was ultimately decided at a trial hearing, something I never expected it to come to at the outset.

Alejandro was a pleasure to work with. My fathers case was very hard and no one wanted to take it. Alejandro was very upfront and honest about the case which I appreciated. Tiffany A. O’Connell walked us through the initial phase, simplifying each step and answering all our questions with warmth and wisdom. For thirty years my husband managed our finances. My eyes crossed every time he tried to get me involved. I’m not proud of that but it came back to haunt me when he got ill and it all fell to me. We felt that all of our legal needs for which we sought were met. The main benefit from working with DGVE was that we know that in any event our wishes have been communicated via a will and will be carried out as written. Additionally, DGVE made sure to bring up scenarios and possibilities that we hadn't considered and now those are also planned for. We feel that our children's needs will be taken care of in the event of an emergency/tragedy and that our wishes will be communicated to our loved ones and executed. Additionally, the process was so easy. Many years ago I had chosen SS&B to help establish the first estate plan for my wife and I. Recently at the passing of my wife, I needed to update all of these plans. Obviously having just lost my wife of almost 40 years and having to pull out all of those documents that we had created together added a bit of stress to a difficult time, added to the stress we had all been facing during the COVID pandemic of 2020. Attorney Abbott and her entire team not only helped direct me through all of the steps need to make my transition to this new estate plan, but also worked with me to be sure all of the questions were asked and answered thoughtfully knowing that my brain had difficulty focusing on almost anything, no less the redoing of my estate plans. Her calm and supporting presence though this made a difficult time bearable. She was working to support me not only to complete this new plan, but also as a person. She would take the time just to talk and not just dive into the needed work on the documents. She was the person, and they were the team that was needed for me to get through this most necessary process. My late father had a piece of property in Massachusetts that my siblings and I had to sell. None of us lived in state, and there was a considerable amount of legal work to do. We were lucky to find David. He took care of everything for us, even finding an excellent realtor. David was considerate and thoughtful, and treated us with respect while we were going through a difficult time. He kept us informed and guided us through the maze of court filings and probate hearings with great care. The bottom line is that we sold the property without having to come to Massachusetts even once; David even handled the sale. I would recommend David to anyone. I can't thank him enough for what he did for us.

David is very honest and straightforward. He is thorough and persistent and has always been very responsive whenever we have had questions. I used him for a medicaid application for a relative. At first, it was an interview with the partner and a new attorney doing the work. When things got tricky, attorney Miller stepped in and handled things personally. He knew exactly what to do, when to do it, met all filing deadlines, and provided competent representation, and provided regular case updates. I would not hesitate to use him again.

We LOVE George Constant and his consistent desire to make sure we understand exactly what is happening with regards to our estate planning/special needs trust planning. His calm and laid-back demeanor -- sprinkled with some good jokes -- made our planning sessions with him a breeze. George is more than willing to explain everything until we understand exactly what is going on. He's very concise in his explanations, and he's also extremely thorough. It was a smooth and organized process, and he clearly explained everything without jargon. He took the time to get to know us and what is important to us in terms of values and what we were trying to achieve with our estate plan. I cannot speak high enough of Sam. My mother is diagnosed with terminal cancer and its a very touchy situation. While on the consultation, both my mom and myself were crying and Sam was also compassionate and got teary eyed. Through out the entire call she was kind and respectful and listened.
