Not sure about you, but I wouldn’t want an attorney that prioritizes their relationship with the opposing side over a client. This is especially true when the other side lied in writing. I hired and paid Michael to review a commercial lease in 2019. I negotiated every edit/recommendation he made and then signed it. Fast forward 2 years: I've paid rent every month and still have not been able to open my business in the leased space I pay for.
I first consulted with 4 other lawyers, all of whom said my lease does a poor job of representing my interests and offered no recourse even though I cannot use the leased space I pay for.
I called Michael to ask for his recommendation on how I should proceed. He told me that the lease (that he had reviewed) did not protect my business, did not offer any recourse, and then he billed me for the time it took him to tell me that I had no protection or recourse.

Michael helped us finalize the purchase of our first home in 2007 and he made the process as smooth as possible. He informed us later that the seller had changed lawyers in the middle of the process. Apparently the first attorney had no experience completing a purchase and sale. Michael took it in stride and didn't blink an eye. He is a great person and extremely professional, essentially doing twice the work by having to deal with two separate attorneys for the seller. He is extremely experienced and I would recommend him and his firm to anyone in the market for a new home.

Every year Boston magazine publishes the results for top attorneys in Boston from different legal specialties, from business and criminal law to family and employment law. If there are top 100 attorneys; Edward Wayland would be voted as the top 10 WORST attorneys in Boston. I'm very grateful I had made the right decision to terminate him for ineffectiveness of his counsel. About few years ago, To today's day, I never regretted (terminating) firing Edward Wayland.
He almost ruined my life and my freedom. lack of communication, Failure to exercise diligence, ineffectiveness of his counsel, and Incompetence, Incompetence, and Incompetence. I'm in the process of filing a complaint against him to the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseer; Attorney and Consumer Assistance Program (ACAP), I think he should get his license suspended or revoked. (everything I stated here is true except for the top 10 worst attorneys).

Before hiring Sugarman, we did not read any of the stellar reviews offered by other satisfied clients. Nor did we 'shop around'. Maryanne Leblanc was a personal reference from another lawyer. Her service on our behalf was beyond reproach, expectation or, even, imagination. We were treated more than fairly (as if we had been generational family friends). We are grateful for her personal attention to our case. Her sage counsel and compassion were truly remarkable and as deeply appreciated as unexpected. Maryanne went a long way in restoring our faith in the 'community of confrontation'.

I cannot recommend Sugarman and Sugarman enough. A few years ago I was involved in a car accident. I had never experienced anything like this situation, and Sugarman and Sugarman were amazing to work with. Marianne LeBlanc was extremely patient, thorough and helpful throughout this process. She was very comforting in a scary situation. Her and her paralegal Emily went above and beyond to fight for my case, never giving up or settling for less than I deserved. I absolutely would recommend working with them.

I got a call today from Neil sugarmen and I gotta say it was the most pathetic call I’ve ever had, probably the most cold hearted person I’ve ever talked to . If you are going through a malpractice case and are looking for a not only just a lawyer but a lawyer with a little more empathy and respect then this is not the place to go to . The call was so bad that I ended up just giving up and hanging up ..sickening

Eric is my go to attorney for real estate issues. I rely upon him to provide reasonable and effective strategies for dealing with real estate issues. I have consulted with him several times on commercial real estate lease issues. In each instance he suggested lease provisions which dealt appropriately with the issues and, where I had a tenant or its counsel insisting on terms I found unacceptable, Eric provided talking points which ultimately were successful in convincing the tenant or its counsel to abandon their position. I find the advice provided by Eric to be sound, well thought out and effective. I recommend him without reservation.

Seyfarth Shaw, the Attorney for the Marriott, is the worst Attorney that I have seen on record. Overbilling, lying to their client, costing their client $$$$, while they misrepresent, just attrocious behavior and an incompetant law firm. Trying to influence a Federal Judge after they have misfiled pleadings.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend. I had a slip and fall about 5 years ago… and just now got compensated, didn’t even get that much. In the time it took my injury suit closed out and settled, we went through an entire pandemic, I lost my father and my husband, I had a child, had a stroke, recovered from a stroke fully, was diagnosed with a heart condition and was no longer a minor. I still can’t believe how long it took. When I first called to start speaking with an attorney they said 12-18 months for payment and closure of the case. 5 YEARS later. Here we are. Wow. If you want a shark for an attorney who actually cares about you and your case, I don’t recommend Simon and Simon. Especially cause they took almost 2/3rds of my settlement money after I’ve been suffering for 5 years.
Today, I spoke to a gentleman from Simon and Simon after they had reviewed my review. We were able to have a conversation and spoke about the issues I had put above. He did tell me that he would speak to a few people about a communication issue and try to have that resolved in hopes this would help people in the future using Simon and Simon. As I appreciate the call and conversation about the issues I spoke of, I do not feel as if this review is wrong. I have chosen to keep this review up because even though I had a discussion with a representative, my issues still happened. And I do believe that other people should be made aware and have the opportunity to see how others were treated. I appreciate your time today, however I will not be removing this review. Thank you.
