Communicative, empathetic, persistent and professional
My mother passed away, predeceased by my father. The estate executor was not fulfilling their responsibilities, after over five years. I offered my assistance to the executor and was repeatedly rebuffed. After consulting with several friends, who are attorneys specializing in other areas of law, I was urged to hire an attorney who specializes in family law.
I immediately thought of Chris Casey, who I have known for many years. We are both members of the Salem Rotary Club. After meeting with Chris, and his associates, I knew I was in the right place. I immediately felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I was assured they had handled many cases like this before and would be able to help me. They demonstrated great empathy throughout the process, which helped me get through this difficult time. I was apprised of the ongoing legal action through constant communication via email and phone.
The executor continued to be very uncooperative, but my attorneys were persistent. We were forced to go to trial. There were seven pretrial hearings and eventually, due to the uncooperative executor, a trial was needed. During the trial, my attorneys were amazing. The executor and their attorney were left speechless. The judge ruled in my favor on every contested issue. They handled my case with professionalism and achieved an outstanding result. They did such a great job, that I hired them to help me with another family issue concerning a property in Florida. This is an outstanding law firm. Do not hesitate to hire them for your case.

Travis has been very patient with our case for the over 3 years it took to bring to resolution. A complex case that included a class action piece that Travis identified early on, he gave the opposing counsel every opportunity to do the right thing but they weren’t capable of seeing that. Every year Boston magazine publishes the results for top attorneys in Boston from different legal specialties, from business and criminal law to family and employment law. If there are top 100 attorneys; Edward Wayland would be voted as the top 10 WORST attorneys in Boston. I'm very grateful I had made the right decision to terminate him for ineffectiveness of his counsel. About few years ago, To today's day, I never regretted (terminating) firing Edward Wayland.
He almost ruined my life and my freedom. lack of communication, Failure to exercise diligence, ineffectiveness of his counsel, and Incompetence, Incompetence, and Incompetence. I'm in the process of filing a complaint against him to the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseer; Attorney and Consumer Assistance Program (ACAP), I think he should get his license suspended or revoked. (everything I stated here is true except for the top 10 worst attorneys).

In Nov. 2022 Stefan represented me as the Plaintiff in a MA Wage Act case in Federal Court in Boston under Judge Young. Stefan’s performance during trial was so good and professional that Judge Young complimented how well Stefan tried the case, which seemed like a rare compliment from a prominent judge. Stefan was well-prepared, alert and quick on his feet during the trial which led to a great outcome of our winning the jury trial with an expected $400,000+ final judgment in my favor (after mandatory tripling of verdict amount and legal fees). With my case, Stefan continued his streak of winning all of his jury cases. Stefan’s trial performance was spectacular, and he had a great strategy for each portion of the trial. Several examples include: 1) Persuaded the judge to not mention to the jury that their verdict would be triple, thereby preventing the jury from lowering the amount by factoring in the tripling. 2) Voluntarily and strategically dismissed all of my claims other than the MA Wage Act in order to force the jury to award on the most powerful part of my case rather than compromising on a less lucrative win for me. 3) Ingeniously got around a sensitive issue in which we were constrained by court rules about mentioning an important but sensitive topic. Stefan’s approach added even more benefit while also adhering to the rules. 4) Had video recorded deposition testimony that we played to the jury to destroy the defense on their key issue. 5) Used technology (e.g., animated presentation) was very effective at conveying our position in a very successful way. 6) Negotiated stipulations that worked well and effectively eliminated avenues for the defense. Also, during the case leading up to the trial, Stefan was on top of all of the case and court processes (e.g., discovery, depositions, memos) as well as filings. Stefan worked very collaboratively with me in preparing for the trial. I consider Stefan to be a foremost expert on several legal issues, including the MA Wage Act.
