I retained Mike Pescatore for a case that I was personally involved in last year. Used Joseph for a complicated criminal matter that my son got himself into up in Bergen County. Joe jumped on the case immediately, got my son's bail reduced to a level that we could afford, constantly kept us apprised of what was happening in the case, and after doing some discovery actually got the prosecutor to dismiss the charges!! Having worked with 4 attorneys in the past, I came across Mr. Aaron Liller through Avvo, I have to say that Mr Liller is extremely knowledgeable and patient, he explained everything in detail, responded to my emails and calls even on weekends and late at night. I was purchasing a bank owned property and he was there at every step and answered my every question with lots of patience. I hit 3 parked cars and flipped my own car landing on my driverside door all right in front of the Hoboken Police Station so as you could imagine all the cops came to see!. I was charged with a DWI and Since this all happened in a company car I knew i was going to lose my job. Not only did Robert prolong my case for about a year giving me enough time to find a new job, but I only got 3 months loss of license and the minimal fines. Amazing lawyer, if he can pull this off then he can do anything.

In October of 1991, we purchased our 1st home and Robert J. Wiltsee was our attorney for what I would consider routine contract reviews and sale closing. In August of 2018 we were about to sell the same home after almost 28 years, however our buyers had their 1st of several issues. We realized that we should seek legal consultation at this point and decided to again hire Bob to review our contract(s). Bob reviewed numerous several emails and answered even more phone conversations questions. Although we were out of N.J. during the sale and closing, we were confident in Bob after discussing the situation as he explained our options in regard to our contract and buyers issues. After 4 closing delays, the 5th and final closing attempt was successful. Bob continued to advise us of our options throughout what turned into a more difficult process than necessary. If you are looking for an attorney for a legal matter, look no further. Mr. Janel is THE attorney and I am going to share with you why.
I was having a dispute over a return of security deposit with my previous landlord. I initially retained a different attorney (yes, my fault), but he was not only not knowledgeable in this area but also indifferent. I received an impression that he wasn’t taking my case seriously but using it just to squeeze easy money out of me. I was actually stressed out with him more than the litigation itself.
Then, I found Mr. Janel. He was patient with me during my initial consultation, devoted time to really understand the situation, and even reviewed my docket on the spot. My case was unnecessarily more tangled than it was supposed to be, because my previous attorney messed up my complaint. Mr. Janel walked me through all different scenarios and his strategies and even volunteered to talk with my wife who was basically disgusted with the whole litigation situation. I felt much more at ease emotionally after speaking with him. Plus, the fact that he has been practicing for nearly 30 years and that he gives lectures to other attorneys on tenant/landlord cases made him the perfect attorney for my case.
After retaining Mr. Janel, everything was a breeze. I just handed my supporting docs to him and he handled everything thereafter. I sometimes wondered why he wasn’t asking any questions before my trial, because my understanding of client-attorney communications was only from movies where an attorney coaches his/her client on every little thing. But in retrospect, it wasn’t necessary for him because he understood my case better than I did myself. Why do I say this? Because we won on every claim in the trial and Mr. Janel’s examination questions constantly revealed the landlord’s perjuries one after another. The result of the trial? Exactly what he told me in the initial consultation.
You might still be thinking there are other competent attorneys out there. But what I can tell you is Mr. Janel is not only competent but also compassionate and wholeheartedly works for your best interest. I say this, because I did work with a different attorney and know exactly what it feels like to be treated like an annoying wallet. I highly recommend Mr. Janel as an attorney. I had a DUI charge that ended up at the Superior Court level when it really should have stayed at the municipal level. With hardly any hassle, he was able to bring it back to the municipal courts and I ended up with the best case scenario in terms of punishment. I made the mistake of going with another attorney and was under attorney review for several days where I couldn't even get a hold of him despite numerous calls and emails. I needed to be out of attorney review the following day but wasted several days with another lawyer that did not get me anywhere. Businesses leases are much more complicated (and longer). I wish I had hired him for my recent residential lease as I do not recall my other attorney being so thorough.
