I was unfairly sued by Bank of America and hired Susan to fight back on the lawsuit. She really went to the mat for me, fighting Bank of America’s lawyers all the way. The outcome was that they finally conceded defeat after Susan was able to demand audio tapes from the bank of conversations with me. They fought it all the way, but finally gave in. They signed a dismissal “With Prejudice” (meaning they can never bring it up again) and filed it with the Superior Court. What a relief that was. Had she not been there, it could have threatened my home and future. I can recommend Susan wholeheartedly to anyone who wants a lawyer who will fight for you and win.

I contacted her through my internet research who is a local for my first time home purchase. Ms. Smith promptly replied and jumped on to reviewing my accepted offer. She meticulously prepared notes for every document she reviewed and explained legal terms and proposed languages/texts for various requests through the contingencies. Our family had a problem with bedbugs in our apartment and a landlord who was blaming us and trying to get us to pay for the exterminators. It is difficult for anyone who has not had bedbugs to imagine the extent to which this problem negatively effects every aspect of your life. I contacted Greg Brod, and he was there for us. Hanlen Chang is very knowledgeable and was able to help me understand the laws and context relevant to my concerns and suspicions of financial elder abuse of a family member. I did not realize that local county laws and protocols in California can differ with regard to elder law issues. Hanlen guided me in being an advocate for my family, suggesting appropriate language for letters and focusing on the relevant information, while showing me why some points I was making were not really relevant. Hanlen helped my husband and I set up a living trust and he was so easy to work with. Very professional, very knowledgeable and responds in a very timely manner. He even provided a handy list of what sort of assets would need to be transferred to the trust and how to go about it.
Hanlen also helped provide guidance on some more complicated issues with our extended family related to estate and financial planning. He has a pretty good awareness of tax planning as well so he can help bring attention to potential situations that may arise down the road based on decisions that are made today. Super helpful to get a holistic view of how to approach situations that we were in and be able to make better informed decisions.
He occasionally meets with clients in Palo Alto which has been really great for us since we're based in the South Bay.
We have been very happy with the services that Hanlen has provided so far and we will continue to reach out to him whenever future needs arise.

I’ve known Michael now for 10 years and was impressed with his attention to detail and the way he knows the law better than most while knowing when to strike and when to wait for the bait. Michael is by far the best litigator I have met and that is why I hired him and to see the other side continually dig themselves out of holes Michael put them in and he continued to do this until they simply couldn’t or didn’t have a way to remedy their case or side. The law works in favor of those that do the right thing and stick to what is in writing and what is on a contract. Michael worked extremely hard on my case and countless hours were out in while putting together all the pieces and creating a story from a timeline that he created using a method that made sense. I would recommend Scott Miller as an attorney without any hesitation. Scott agreed to help my family after we had been failed by a number of other attorneys. Our situation was complex with multiple properties and many parties involved as co-owners who had different goals and perspectives from ours. No one had been able to move forward on what to do. These individuals were also not particularly easy to deal with. Scott handled every aspect the unique issues of each property with efficiency, great competence, and terrific advice. He really supported me as a trustee and as a person during the process, resulting in a very clean, definitive and positive outcome for all. My husband and I are an over-the-road trucking team that owns and operates a one-truck business. In March 2019 we were involved in a highway collision in Oregon that resulted in our truck and trailer being totaled, and both of us being injured. We were out of work for over a year.
We were not at fault but knew we had to find representation. Since the crash took place outside of our home state, we began calling lawyers in the Oregon area. We had no luck. I would like to recommend Mr. Sanford Cipinko who represented me in a personal injury law suit concerning a significant claim involving a large established insurance company. Mr. Cipinko with the assistance of his well trained office staff handled the case with alacrity. All court and other legal filings where accomplished quickly and I was kept well informed as to the meaning and progress of the proceedings. As expected, the Insurance Company pulled every trick they could, including intimidation by suggesting that I lied and was carless enough that I purposely ran into the cross walk and thus was hit by their client’s oncoming car. Eventually the case was settled to my satisfaction with the helpful advice and counsel of Mr. Cipinko. Of upmost importance, Mr. Cipinko is honest and forthright.
