Drew is a very down to earth, non "lawyer-y" lawyer. I only met with him in person one time and he was very relaxed yet instilled confidence in me when he spoke about what he does. While it took much longer than I had hoped, he ultimately won a great settlement for us from our own insurance company, using our coverage for uninsured motorists. I had a personal injury as a result of being hit by a drunk driver and not only did Drew make sure all of my medical care (6 months!) was covered in full but left us with $10,000 in our pockets when all was said and done. I highly recommend him and his firm.

I recently consulted with Matthew Cunanan and Drew Davis regarding both an inheritance and an elderly parent with debt problems. As part of a free consultation, they gave me helpful advice about a number of potential scenarios and also did some preliminary research to answer one of my questions. In addition, they were very up-front about their rates, unlike other attorneys I’d spoken with who wouldn’t even give me an estimate without paying for a consultation. The only reason I didn’t end up putting them on retainer was because I needed an attorney who is local to California. I greatly appreciate their efforts on my behalf, and highly recommend them.

As soon as my wife and I hired Robert Zierman we began to sleep better! Although Robert's law office is several hours away from us, we chose Robert (Justice Smiles, Plllc) for help in a festering Boundary Dispute with an aggressive new neighbor. Why Robert? A boundary dispute some 20 years ago taught us that such real estate matters are a specialized area of the law. We searched and failed to find a local lawyer who had more than a minor part of their practice based on Real Estate. So we looked further afield for a ''specialist". And while doing our Internet research on the subject of boundary disputes, we found our expert, Robert Zierman, and we also found many helpful articles that Robert himself had authored. Enlisting Robert for our legal representation was a VERY GOOD choice! Robert thoroughly reviewed our situation and then carefully identified several alternative courses of action for us....plus he identified the likely costs, benefits and risks of each course of action. Robert's expertise and his calming demeanor also seemed to keep the other parties from unnecessarily escalating the situation. Bottom Line: Very glad we found and used Robert Zierman for our boundary problem. It WAS money well spent. We found Robert to be very time efficient because he was already so knowledgeable about the subject area. We felt we were in "good hands" with Robert from Day 1. We found Robert trustworthy and hard working. He tries to deescalate and resolve confrontations. It has been a pleasure working through this awkward situation employing a true professional like Robert Zierman. We consider the negotiated outcome "fair". We couldn't ask for more. Hiring Robert was certainly a wonderful choice for us. Highly recommended.

Mr. Hicks was assisting the lead attorney on our case and subsequnetly took it over as our primary contact. The issue was adverse possession. Mr. Hicks explained what was going on in laymans terms and tried to establish common ground between planiff and defendant. While that never happened the case was eventually voluntarily dismissed by plantiff as Mr Hicks had provided thorough enough documentation and rebuttal that plantiff dropped case prior to ever going to court

Back in the early or mid-1980’s, I was one of eight apartment owners who sued the local County for requiring that all property owners in the entire local area connect their property to the new sewer system and stop using the existing, approved and functioning on-site septic systems. Attorney Steve Crane sued on behalf of Eight Apartment Complex owners and won! I was one of Steve's clients with my apartment complex of 28 units in that lawsuit against the County to not hook-up to the County sewer system. Steve’s argument was that the Local Improvement District that the County adopted stated that everyone in that area of the County must hook-up to the new sewer system and by doing so each property would have an increase in value thereby supporting the County’s argument requiring all property owners to hook-up to the sewer system. However, Steve, along with testimony and documentation from the eight apartment owner’s, Steve proved that tenants don’t care where their sewage goes once they flush; they will never pay more for the sewage going down to a County Sewer System rather than it going to an on-site septic system. As long as it flushes and the sewage goes down the drain, no one would pay any increased rents based on those facts. Additionally, since sewers would likely bring new apartments with more competition to the existing owners who would likely have to reduce rents to stay competitive with the new construction; thereby actually lowering the value of our apartment buildings. Steve’s arguments won. I avoided paying the approximately $28,000 in sewer hookup fees to the County sewer assessment, plus I avoided the costs of tearing up my lawns and existing septic system to put new pipes to the sewer system in the street; estimated savings at about another $28,000. With the time value of money, the approximately $56,000 at an inflation rate of just 3% would be equal to approximately $165,000 today! However, the biggest factor is the right to continue use of the on-site septic system thereby avoiding us from paying the on-going, monthly sewer fees of $19.00 per month per apartment unit or $532 per month for my 28 unit complex. In Today’s dollars, Steve Crane’s lawsuit saved us approximately another $405,000 in monthly sewer service fees! So Steve Crane saved me about $600,000 over these past years. Thanks Steve Crane for being such a strong Attorney.

I first hired a different attorney at a large firm to help with an issue I had with a general contractor who was threatening me. She told me that I was hosed; Because of the contract I had signed, this bully of a GC had me over a barrel. Before I forked over ~$30k to the bully GC, I contacted Tymon Berger. Thank heavens I did. Tymon took the time to investigate the contract, the GC, and the situation. He listened to what I had to say -- something that not every attorney does. He understood my wishes and followed them clearly. And he came up with a clear and fair strategy to help me. I never had to pay another dime to the GC. We settled amicably. Tymon is a great communicator. He managed my expectations well and always followed through on commitments. Working with him was such a positive experience. I pale to think that I almost forked over $30k (for work not completed) just because that previous lawyer didn't care to listen or bother. So yeah, Tymon is my hero.

I was very very pleased with Ryans performance. He helped me with my case against my landlord when I was taken to court for rent payments. I had been trying to pay my rent on several occassions but because my landlord wants me out very badly, my rent continuously was being refused. Ryan had 10 minutes to review my case and this was a very confusing case. At first I almost took the deal that I was given which was to pay Dec rent and be out at the end of Dec.. then at the last minute I came to my senses and had Ryan fight for me..and a fighting he did.. He did a fabulous job for me. Unfortuneatly, I am being taken back to court for the same thing.
