Patricia Lannon handled a workman's compensation case for me. I never actually met with her face to face. Everything was handled through the mail or over the phone. When I would call her office, I rarely was able to speak with her. For the most part, her legal assistants handled my calls. At times they were very rude. They didn't get back to me in a very timely matter. Sometimes it would be days before I received an answer to a question. There were times when I didn't even know who I was speaking with or when the person I was talking to had no idea about my case. I had quite a few problems with the insurance company that I feel could've been handled better if I'd had better representation. Patricia didn't take the time to get to know me. My experience with her firm was very cold. They were not very personable or easy to talk to. They did not keep me informed about my case. I always had to contact them first. In the end, they were very quick to settle my case. It seemed that the firm was overloaded with cases, which caused me to feel like my case was not important. I would not recommend this firm to anyone. My personal opinion would be to find a smaller firm where you can receive personal one on one attention and actually meet with the person who will be representing you and your case.

We were referred to Schwartz / Jambois firm through a friend. Mac Hertz represented us in a personal injury car accident case. Mac is professional, thorough, compassionate and took time in explaining and guiding us through every step of the process. Bill Clark is one of the good guys of family law. In a system that is supposed to put children first, it seems to have been corrupted by people who are driven by money, egos and, and power.
Bill is none of that. He is smart, empathetic, and an excellent reader of people. He understands human behavior. Not always easy to find.
He will fight hard for you. He actually cares about the welfare of your child.
If a parent unfortunately finds him or herself caught in what can be a very difficult situation you want someone you can trust. I highly recommend this law firm. I wouldn't work with anyone else.

2 years after surgery, and he claims that he has been waiting, for my medical records, waiting (2)years, that's why we have know trail date? The Doctors, office showed me the confirmation, that they had given him all my, Medical records , and that I was discharged from the Doctors office. Now he is saying, that i need to be working, before we can go to trail. We were suppose to start trial, 6 months ago, but more dishonest tactics. Good luck with this team!

I was referred to this office by a friend and lets just say...WE ARE NO LONGER FRIENDS. I consulted with Atty Gore but my case was given to Atty Donna Zadeikis. She and the other partners are also Management for the admin staff, which are full of unprofessional Hispanic ladies who answer the phone (when they choose to answer it), as if its their personal phone line. And when you ask to speak with a "Manager", the ladies say that don't have one. I was released from my doctor in June and by December they still hadn't received my Bills and Medical Records. Because they claim that they weren't getting, "Callbacks" from the hospital billing office. I got so irritated with her staff that I physically went over to the billing office MYSELF, retrieved the bills/records and emailed them over. That took only 1 day. Finally I got really angry due to the lack of any communication from the staff and Atty Zadeikis herself so I requested a went to her office. She wasn't in, of course, so I scheduled a meeting with one of the receptionist for a few days later. When I arrived for the meeting she was nowhere to be found and after "calls" to her from Receptionist...Still nothing. Finally, I was at work (just on lunch) and had to go so I left. Once downstairs in the lobby, I saw her strolling in after what appeared to be a lunch date. So I went back to her office. In the meeting she was mean, nasty, uncaring and rude. I left feeling not so good about our exchange. I received a letter about a month later stating that the company I was suing decided not to settle but that she would contact me in 60 days whether the firm would pursue it. 60 days? After 60 days I received a letter of withdrawal from her firm 1 year and a half in. I was livid. I have to scramble now to find a new attorney that will take my case. And to add insult to injury, I was hung up on by one of the ladies in her office when I called to request a copy of my legal file. PEOPLE BEWARE OF THIS ATTORNEY. SHE IS THE WORST AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE AND ATTORNEY TO REPRESENT MY DOG.

He takes forever to do anything on a case. He knew nothing about my file. He give me very broad and general information that I am sure he feed all his clients. When you ask something specific about your case he can't answer you. And the more questions you as the louder he gets with you like your a bother and he uses the "I've been doing this for years" speech. If you disagree with him and try and voice your opinion you get the well I can just withdraw from your case and you will be stuck with no attorney. He is very unprofessional and I would never recommend him to anyone and just tell everyone stay away.

I had a terrible time at work,I injured my knee and then the horror started between me and the insurance agency...I was under work. Comp. For two years and they always were being late with issuing my pay checks,approving my physical therapy, ect... and I feel lost at some point,until I heard about James McHargue and I decided to go and have a consultation with him about my case.
Not only he put my pay stubs and my doctor's visits in order, but he also took the case in court and after long battle we won! I could not feel more thankful to him and I highly reccomend his services to everyone! He definately knows what he is doing!

I had a dog bite injury case in 2010. This lawyer took 5 years to do anything regarding insurance on this case. I always had to make calls for updates over the years. I felt like I was completely unimportant to James or Dan. They asked for pictures, years later, which I sent numerous times. Yet they demanded I come all the way downtown for more pictures. I explained to them I can't drive due to my health, and Chicago is an hour an a half from me. Plus $20-40 in parking and has money, I couldn't afford for a 10 minute meeting was a ridiculous request but they didn't care. They barely did any work on my case, and 5 years to get only a 5k increase. FIVE YEARS. Then they expect to get paid when they didn't do anything and I'm no longer a client. Find a better lawyer than Jame's firm that will actually make you a priority and so actual work.

She negotiated my claim without my doctors' documents. When I turned down the settlement offer she went to the board and said my answer was "maybe." When I fired her, she ignored my new attorney's request for my file for over six months. She allegedly told one of my doctors that flight crews could not get PTS and said such claims were "bogus."

Starshak was one of the lawyers with Horwitz and Horwitz that represented me for a bus accident I had at Ohare airport. Starshak was assigned to the case much later after the accident happened so, he can't be blamed for not talking to witnesses right after I signed up with the firm but, time does cause memories to fade. He was good at returning calls, emails and scheduling meetings when I requested. There were problems though that no client would want to experience. You would think that a lawyer would depose the police that wrote the accident report that backed up my position of how the accident happened and what the witnesses on the bus told him. You would think that a lawyer would depose my Supervisor that wrote up a separate report from when he was on the scene about the injuries witnesses on the bus told him they had. That didn't happen. Instead of Starshak showing up in court on status hearings, a stand by lawyer would usually show up and that resulted in an instance where the stand by lawyer had to refute via an Affidavit allegations Opposing Counsel alleged the stand by lawyer made in a proceeding. The Judge in response to the Affidavit issue ended up ruling in favor of Opposing Counsel as to his medical expert. The settlement discussion went down the drain at that point. When a lawyer has time management issues they use stand by lawyers. I never even found a Notice of Appearance for any of the stand by lawyers. The discovery judge tired of stand by lawyers and Starshak started showing up. It seemed that Starshak failed to conference with prior lawyers within his firm regarding an IME appointment I showed up for and the fact that I personally told him I showed up for the IME and had my camera out to film it but, the doctor cancelled the IME even though I told him I'd put my camera away. Then there was the issue of Opposing Counsel alleging that Starshak and crew failed to notify him of the current address of a out of town witness that was on the bus and that Starshak and crew failed to tell Opposing Counsel what the witness would testify to. The Judge Sandra Ramos barred the witness. This was the only witness on the bus Starshak scheduled for a deposition even though there were other flight attendants, executives and a ground transportation witness on the bus. One witness went to the hospital. The deposition was scheduled for when Starshak returned from Gerry Spences ranch. Opposing Counsel told the witness that the Judge had told Horwitz that the witness could not be deposed and Opposing Counsel also alleged in a motion that the subpoena was invalid as it related to contempt. I was shocked at the discovery Opposing Counsel came in alleging he didn't get. Even when the Judge asked Atty. Carter ( lead counsel ) what happened to the discovery sought via a subpoena in 2017 , Atty. Carter's answer was " I don't know." Opposing Counsel also alleged that Horwitz sent out a subpoena for discovery to a 3rd party and failed to send Opposing Counsel a copy of the request. I also had to ask Starshak to watch his language in front of me on at least 2 occasions when he referred to a particular individual using a section of the male anatomy during the conversation. As a result of misrepresentations I alleged that Horwitz and Opposing Counsel made to the court, Horwitz did not want to represent me any longer and walked into court on what was suppose to be the 3rd day of trial with a Motion to Withdraw. The Motion was denied but, Horwtiz said they couldn't represent me so, the Judge told me I either had to represent myself or work Horwitz even though they had said they didn't want to. The Judge wouldn't allow me to complete my sentence when I was trying to ask for time to get a new lawyer. Horwitz and Opposing Counsel suggested I could dismiss with leave to refile. I did that after a 5 minute conference in the hallway with Horwitz. No lawyer wanted to take the case on after looking at the sanctions the Judge dished out.

Anita was very friendly and accommodating at initial contact when we were looking for an attorney. She spent a lot of time getting specifics of the case from us, and was very patient and open.
However, after we signed the contract with Anita, we never heard from her with any updates on the case. We signed 2 months ago, and since then we made about 10 inquires to find out where the case stands (fax, e-mail, text, phone). None of the calls or inquiries has been returned to date.
I'm giving Anita the benefit of 2 starts just based on the pleasant initial interaction, and will update my review as the case progresses.
If you are searching for a workers compensation attorney, think hard whether you really need one. Hiring an attorney prevents you from contacting the clerk who handles your claim for an insurance company directly.
Anita seemed a lot nicer and came across as easy to work with compared with someone else we had met for this case, however based on complete lack of response we may have made the wrong choice hiring her.

My experience with Attorney Curtis Ross was nothing short of a nightmare. From the outset, he displayed a level of rudeness and disrespect that was utterly appalling. When I sought clarification on certain legal matters, he dismissed my concerns with the utmost arrogance, labeling my questions as "idiotic."
Instead of fulfilling his role as a legal advocate, he left me to fend for myself in court, all the while painting a false picture of me as argumentative. His complete lack of support and guidance was both shocking and deeply disappointing.
Save yourself the headache and avoid hiring Curtis Ross at all costs. He is an utter disgrace to the legal profession and will leave you high and dry when you need support the most.

He loves to celebrate every holiday and disappear days before court. Do you want him to prepare before court? Do you want to be prepped before court?
