It took me some time to write this because of all the emotions I have been going through, but in a nutshell, my purchase transaction for a condo in Manhattan fell through last week. I believe that Weidenbaum and Harari bears primary responsibility for the deal falling apart, and I deeply regret ever hiring them.
A summary of what went wrong:
• My case was assigned to a lawyer (Eugene Sarantis) who was on vacation and would not return until the following week. I was not happy that my case was being assigned to an associate out on vacation but I let it go.
• It was virtually impossible to get in contact with my lawyer. Despite my repeated attempts to reach Eugene via phone and e-mail, he did not respond to my request for an update until I directly asked one of the partners, Jack Harari, to intervene. The first time I was actually able to speak with Eugene was 13 days after the contract had already been sent.
• I was not brought into the contract negotiation process until the very end. I was not even sent a copy of the contract and riders until several days after they had been sent to Weidenbaum and Harari, and as referenced earlier, I was unable to speak with Eugene about the contract and provide input until 13 days into the contract negotiation process.
• Revisions were made to the contract and riders without my knowledge or consent. During the 13 days before I was finally able to speak with Eugene, negotiations and changes were being made to the contract and riders without my consent, and in many cases, without my even knowing about the requested changes.
Although I was initially told by Jack that the entire contract negotiation process would likely take 7-10 days, the contract was still not finalized 14 days after it had initially been sent. By that point, the seller had become extremely frustrated with the process and pulled out of the deal.
In hindsight, I believe that my biggest mistake in this condo purchase transaction was hiring Weidenbaum and Harari to represent me. If I could do it over again, I would have hired a different legal team, and I genuinely believe that the outcome would have been different if I had.

On a recommendation, I reached out to Tiffany at Young & Ma regarding what would become a discrimination lawsuit against my former employer. I was fortunate to have found Paul! I tasked him with writing my prenup, and he was attentive and helpful throughout the entire process. I had zero prior experience with marital law, and I came to him with a ton of loose ideas for what my partner and I were looking for in the document. Samantha called me and asked for the details of the case. I was speaking to her a mile a minute because having to regurgitate all of this up again was a bit scary. Samantha stated that if it were okay, I could write my experiences down, and she would contact me the following Monday or Tuesday. Therefore, I gave her a prewritten document about 4-5 pages long. I thought there was no way she would chop this up over the weekend and be ready to proceed with the following steps by Monday or Tuesday. I readied myself again to speak a tad more slowly and calmly. However, once Monday came around, Samatha summarized all of my information as if I had said it. She read it. She detailed precisely what I wanted to say. She is brilliant and fast in distilling information while being pragmatic enough to distinguish between what will be relevant and what isn’t. It was a pleasure speaking and working with Samatha.
