Jim was a great attorney who always paid attention to detail and did so with a very kind heart. He argued very well in court to help me to get what I needed in my family law case. I feel as though so many pieces of my family law puzzle came together because Mr. Burns knows his law and his way within the courtroom and family law system!

Upon hiring Mr. Burns I was thrilled. He seemed energetic, confident, intelligent, and competent. I appreciated being afforded a payment plan as I am a single mother of 2 and don't make very good money. During my interactions in the beginning I would receive texts from Mr Burns while he was presumably intoxicated talking about my, "peach". Being asked to dinner, and talk of adventures on the boat also were uncomfortable. I somehow became a personal friend therapist in regards to his "God Sons" mother. The language I was exposed to was awful. I was consistently offended by his constant need to tell me that no other lawyer would do a payment plan and he was helping me out. I paid him roughly 20% of my annual income. At some point I got the courage to stand up and say stop it with trying to make advances. Then an emergency motion was filed later than it should have, which he acknowledged. Towards the end I had to argue with my lawyer for childs best interest as I have a special needs child and florida statues and my lawyer doesn't seem to care. I'm pleased with the results. I'm not pleased with how I was treated throughout the process. I'm not pleased with him being on his phone dealing with his personal stuff during mediation. I wasnt pleased that prior to mediation he had to stop by his house and that time set aside to prep wasn't taken seriously. But wasted on things he wanted to do outside of my case. He talks a marvelous game. Very good at selling himself. Highly intelligent. Not focused, ultimately did not fight for half of what he claimed he would as my lawyer. Poor response time for being advised. I was told he'd advise me on the 14th of February, it is now the 9th of March. This is in regard to final judgment of dissolution of marriage with minor children. Which is just negligent. Lisa is probably the only employee he has had that busts her butt and encourages him you stay focused. I appreciate her and her services. I've since asked for my money over my retainer back (the retainer isnt refundable per our agreement) so I can invest in a different lawyer. I've not gotten response back.

Mr. Burns is an experienced attorney with an unparalleled knowledge of the law and a genuine concern for his clients. I was fortunate to have him represent me. He restored my faith in the legal process. He gave my case the attention it deserved. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good attorney at a fair price.

I hired James to help me with my criminal case. I called him from county jail and he talked to the Judge. They let me go with no conviction as promised by James. Thanks again James.

Mr. Burns and his paralegal, Lisa, were great. He was hired by my husband when I got arrested for a misdemeanor. Mr. Burns got my case settled quickly and avoided a lengthy trial. Since I had never been in trouble a day in my life, I bugged Lisa to death with questions, which she answered quickly and patiently. I would use them again...but I hope I NEVER have to.

Great price, quick prompt service. Always reachable, open and honest staff and attorney. Mr. Burns doesn't play the radio when it comes to getting justice for his clients. He is well connected and his reputation speaks for itself. He knows when to be a pitbull and when to be a poodle.
