Having had a complex law suit, I was referred by another attorney to Mr. Smiley. Great decision and we had a great outcome thanks to him and his staff.

When my previous divorce attorney retired, I was referred to Mr. Smiley based on his knowledge of family law and his ability in court. During my initial consultation, Mr. Smiley didn't sell me a story and told it to me straight, so I hired him immediately. Throughout my contentious journey, Mr. Smiley fought very hard to protect my children and my rights, always being fair and keeping my family in mind. His presence and command in court are among the best, exuding confidence with no hint of egotism. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't feel grateful to have Mr. Smiley on my team.

Mr. Smiley is an extremely smart, compassionate and ethical lawyer. Not only does Mr. Smiley fully understand family law, he is a Southern Gentlemen that understands all the players in Tallahassee (judges, opposing lawyers, etc.) and how to communicate with his clients – which is often not easy given the emotion that is typically present in his clients due to nature of family law cases. Furthermore Mr. Smiley truly cares about his clients – even after his representation of me ended we occasionally send emails to check in on each other.

I retained Scott last year to handle a modification of support that I am paying to my contentious and extremely uncooperative ex-spouse. This has been a long and drawn out case due to some extenuating circumstances regarding my ex's health and relocation out of the state. He has been thorough knowledgeable and thoughtful in his recommended courses of actions surrounding my situation and certainly brought to light many issues that I would not have thought of or considered. I am confident he will get this case resolved to my satisfaction in the very near future.
