When a family member went into rehab after a fall and surgery we recognized how "in the dark" we were on financial matters concerning the future for her and options for her care. We met with Jennifer Ghorley and Megan Jennings. They spent a good amount of time with us clarifying the issues and options from the legal and financial perspective. They assisted us with the legal documents necessary for this incident and potential future problems that may arise. Their clear guidance and professional advice allowed us to feel confident the decisions we had to make were sound choices for both us and our family member. We have had reasons to follow up by telephone with their staff since our initial meeting in January and they continue to provide us the support and guidance we require. We packed Miles Hurley's conference room today for a consultation, and that man had the patience of a saint and the wisdom of one as well. He listened attentively and was so reassuring with my older relative. He guided her and all of us through the best options for our needs and offered an extremely fair and comprehensive solution. The staff members who helped us were very caring as well. They clearly know what they are doing and apply their knowledge to families in need.

When a friend of mine was due to be released from the rehab center following a stroke to go back home with no family to provide care, I reached out to Hurley Law in a panic . They did not disappoint! Immediately they stepped in to advise me on what the responsibilities of the facility were to ensure a safe discharge. They continued to help me through the next two years as we worked to use her meager assets to not only get her the nursing care she needed but also to deal with a nursing home industry which sadly does not always put the care of the individual as their first priority. The headache of applying for Medicaid was lifted from my shoulders and they attended to all the aspects including any hearing or reviews required. And they provided so much more than just the much needed legal advice. One of the most appreciated aspects was the help of an individual who assisted us in interacting with the facility in respect to care and medication. During times when I met resistance (and sadly in some instances hostility ) when I questioned aspects of her day to day medication and care , Hurley's employee, Dawn, stepped in and with her calm, determined but also very educated input backed by Hurley Law , she was often able to get the attention and outcome we needed. My day to day contact , Paul, was ALWAYS available for any questions and assistance and on so many occasions had to step in to help with a myriad of problems when I could not get anyone's attention at the nursing home, especially related to billing and balances. It's never fun to see friends or family in declining health but with the help of Hurley I at least was able to feel like I had experts on my team who worked tirelessly to handle the logistics and legal aspects and were always there to help me in times of need. I'm not sure how we would have made it through the last few years without the incredible efforts of these people. I would encourage anyone to reach out to them for advice and assistance in dealing with legal aspects relating aging family or friends they are reponsible for. These people know how to help.
