Attorney Townsend and his team of legal and administrative professionals helped me when I was in an emergency situation, leading to a quick resolution and divorce. Attorney Townsend is very reasonable, honest, patient, and truly cares about helping his clients. He walked me through every step of the way and made sure that every single one of my concerns were understood and addressed. Wish 10 stars is an option. We had an issue obtaining a certified marriage license in Florida, the county could not locate it. Contacted Pro Legal Care in Illinois. (Where we reside) They contacted us in 30 min. and Yavonne was able to assist us with our next steps She was able to order it on a Friday and we had it in our mailbox Monday afternoon. Thank you Pro Legal Care for the fast response and navigating state laws to be sure our 26 years of marriage does exist. :-)

If you're a parent and you care about seeing your children go anywhere else. Trust the Google reviews or a lawyer's word, your choice. Did anyone notice the good reviews have no detail and are very vague, yet the bad reviews all have alot to say? I sure didn't when I hired him, I'm hoping I can save someone else's chance at a relationship with their child now that mine is ruined.

I had the most traumatic possible divorce, I can say without doubts that Attny Townsend let the divorce my husband began at Covid start, just as my mother came to our home from a dangerous nursing home environment, he allowed the divorce to continue for over a year. Husband would agree to a settlement, it would be notarized by.both of us, ex would back out, Townsend let this happen 4 seperate times.each one giving another 2 months of legal bills and terror for me. It was a simple case, no kids, the assets were clearly outlined regarding what was marital property. He wouldn’t even try for my house, lived with my husband there for 10 years and we married in that home, after shopping for a right house for pur families for months. It was mortgaged, equity was 100,000, 10,000 down when we moved in years before. Don’t ask me why he wouldn’t seek assets, why he wouldn’t court fight, I tried so hard to explain the horrors I was managing, my mom in her last year, kicked to the gutter by a man who hurt me, deeply, rental house, care costs born by me, terror… The lawyer got over 14,000 and as I had to.borrow the money, the final settlement was gone, so fast. At the end after my mom died at home, just us, I collapsed, foot four months, unable to work, there went the rest of the settlement. Be ready for a financial shakedown, retainer and 500 a month for so long, first lawyer got a small court cost Townsend wouldn’t even try to stop the nightmare by pushing for additional court costs, that would have likely helped a settlement. Nope. A tear in my meniscus in my knee was the last financial nail for me. 8 more weeks recovering, then couldn’t go back to my physical job. Shakedown continues, you wouldn’t believe the lack of empathy this man has, on the way to court again, he charged 1000 when I asked him to be removed from my case, so when hobbled I couldn’t pay the 100 every two weeks, and in fact am on food help and medical card. I am being taken back to court, by him, he degradingly told me he didn’t believe I’d pay him the rest, I paid 14 ton16G. He is not as he bills himself, he is not for women who are in very bad relationships, my ex had full major asset control, I couldn’t get legal help, even though I had none of the assets that didn’t allow me legal help. He assured he got as much as he could, assured I got no more than the minimum assets divorce law assured. Women, beware. If you’ve been led to think he helps abused women, no. He feeds on the fear and insecurity abused women with PTSD naturally have. I am trying, at 62, to remake something, in spite of the systemic legal abuse Townsend perpetuated. Terrorizing mr more this week with court, sure wish he’d have come even close to protecting me as he does himself. Stay clear, women. Staff is very kind, two stars because they do care. The response from you leaves out so much. I had to fire my first attorney because she was unable to even try to read the asset disclosures. She believed a handwritten tax return was valid, declaring 40,000 earned in the year prior to my husbands kick to the gutter ( me and my 81 yr old mom, her last yr of Alzheimer’s. ) my god, he never filed a paper return, made over 100,000 a year, and all that had to be done was to look at the check stubs he submitted. . 1 week check, cleared 1800.00 That plus her dismissal of my request for an OP, and she denied she did this, she did, though. She put the doc to me to cancel the OP and told me the divorce would protect me, she also pushed me to move, with my mom, threatening that I could be evicted? Yeah, she hurt me/ mom. A lot. I really trusted Attny Townsend, he billed he could navigate this sort of divorce, punishing divorce, no reason other than whim and abuse. It is documented the ex signed and notarized settlement agreements, then pulled them the day I finally thought relief. I now have exacerbated depression, Complex PTSD, therapy, and the systemic breakdowns plus Covid plus divorce? ☹️ Ive tried to make an arrangement, I couldn’t when unable to work at all.

Useless

I wanted an attorney that was fair and pragmatic. I wanted someone that would respect a very long marriage and despite some strong emotions, provide guidance in a manner that made you feel like a good human at the end of it all. Divorce is never easy but it is "easier" if you have someone that is in your corner that helps you maintain your integrity. Mr. Townsend and team were very much there to help me accomplish that. Attorney Townsend allowed me to protect myself while maintaining the ability to do the right thing.

I had some issues concerning my previous employer and I called and spoke with Mark who is the practice manager of the firm. He was so kind and gave me a referral to someone that may be able to help me. He took the time to listen to my concerns even though this wasn't their area of practice. I wish there were more people like him. I definitely think I would have been a good hands had I been able to go with this firm. Thank you Mark

If you want an accountable attorney to stand up for you, then Attorney Townsend is the person to do that. Great legal advise and direction on any situation!

I thought all of the staff were effective when communicating with me about steps that had needed to be done. The process was organized and the electronic signature forms were very easy to fill and understand. Overall, I was very happy with the assistance I received and everything ended on a positive note!
