Brooke Bernhardt, her paralegal Asia and her entire staff have been amazing to work with! They are always super responsive, reliable, and they actually care about their clients. My fiancé and I have both worked with attorneys in the past that have not always been super responsive. You will get the upmost respect from the staff at Bernhardt Phillips! We just love them!

Brooke has been my attorney for over a year I could write pages about how great she is but I’m going to list some that I think are important when thinking about hiring legal counsel.
* If I ever had a question, or ever had some sort of anxiety about my case Brooke would be quick to reach out to me to address any questions and to put my anxiety at ease. If Brooke was ever busy she would have her paralegal call me, Asia whom is also great.
* Brooke is not about the money, she cares about her clients. I’m shocked to see people write about her taking money, she has always been willing to work with me on payments, etc.
* Brooke will fight for you in a courtroom. If you want someone to win a case for you, she is for you. She is very prepared & knowledgeable.
* I had a short notice hearing appear and Brooke was unable to attend, Zach appeared with me. He communicated with me and kept me up to date the entire time.
Great Law Firm, Caring People & Will fight for you!

I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional service and outstanding effort provided by Bernhardt Brooke.
Thanks to her dedication and expertise on my divorce.
Brooke went above and beyond in guiding me through the intricate details of process. Her empathetic approach made the entire experience more manageable.
I must also highlight the professionalism and clear communication demonstrated by the paralegal Asialyn Nguyen. The seamless coordination and responsiveness exhibited by you contributed significantly till the end of the case. Brooke I remember the day you said that I shouldn't worry myself that all will be fine and today it came to passed. Please keep it up and I promise I will continue to recommend your firm and refer people to you. Again
THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU ARE THE BEST.

I had Brooke Bernhardt as an attorney and it was the absolute worst representation (if you can call it that) she missed a court date and didn't tell me, never got in contact with me except to ask for more money. I wasted my entire retainer fee for an attorney that was more worried about her social life than my case. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

What a truly wonderful experience. We all hope we never need a lawyer, but if the situation arises, you definitely won't be disappointed. Jennifer is terrific, caring, and kind. First interaction with Zach, i felt like I had known him for years. Comfortable, understanding, and personable are just a few words that come to mind. I did have kind of a screwed up case that seemed difficult, Zach made it simple, easy to understand, and straightforward. He was able to clear it all up in a timely manner. I truly do appreciate all the help and understanding.
Will be added to the christmas list😃.
Thank you again
Brian

Back in February of 2023 I retained Brooke Bernhardt as my lawyer. Her paralegal at the time was named Nora Spurrier. My divorce was officially filed February 24, 2023. I decided to retain an attorney, because I knew my ex-husband was not going to be an easy person to deal with and I also have a toddler old son who I wanted to make sure was taken care of. I informed her of this and despite that she terribly mishandled my case. She was not the easiest to get a hold of throughout the time I had her retained and each time I discussed the case with her or her paralegal it was like speaking to them for the first time, because they were never aware of what was going on. Under Brooke’s advisement we pursued mediation. She filed for mediation at the end of March and I waited trusting that my lawyer was handling my case. My final hearing was supposed to be in June of 2023, so when it came to the first week of June I reached out to see what was going on with the mediation, as the plan was that it should be scheduled before my hearing. Well in all those months, between the two of them they completely missed that my ex didn’t respond to the mediation striking. Once I brought it to their attention they then scheduled my mediation in September and filed a continuation for my final hearing to be pushed to October. Had they done their job and paid attention my case could have gone to final hearing in June, but due to their carelessness my case was delayed for several months. She also failed to explain the cost of mediation before filing and requesting it. I told her that I doubted that my ex-husband would pay for it, but she still pushed for it. Her paralegal Nora went as far as saying it was required prior to final hearing. Well when I called Hancock county circuit court they told me it was not required. Nora and Brooke also admitted that they missed realizing that they never got confirmation that my ex received the certified mail in regards to our case. Again, at the time it was now June, this is something that should have been confirmed directly following my divorce filing in February. They did assure me though that they would get on it then. In July Brooke reached out for me to pay a new retainer, because they ate up my original retainer with all the foolishness they did before. I declined due to how my case had been handled thus far, as a result she withdrew as my attorney on July 21, 2023. Now I had to go at it alone. Mediation was canceled, because like I had said my ex didn’t pay. So, on to my final hearing in October, I went in there on my own and the Judge was so patient and kind. My ex did not show up, so he was ready to grant me final dissolution, but when he checked the court had never received the confirmation of certified mail. Due to this, I had no proof that my ex even knew about the court date. So even after it was brought to Brooke and Nora’s attention in June, something that initially was not done in February/March still was never corrected. She was my attorney until the end of July, there is no excuse for why this was not done. I may as well have flushed $2500 down the toilet. Finally on December 1, 2023 again standing on my own my final dissolution was granted. I went through hell due to this attorney’s negligence. She took my money and never once tried to help me. How you can do that to a mother with a very young child and sleep at night I really do not know. I just wanted to share my review, because I know these cases are so sensitive. You literally put your whole life in someone's hands. I just had to warn anyone who is looking for an attorney who actually cares, look elsewhere.
