My husband was caught with distributing drugs and was facing a mandatory of 24 months in jail. We have two little girls and I automatically assumed my life would turn upside down. Ray Raya represented me in early Spring of 2024. I was absolutely petrified, and sick to my stomach for months looking for a reputable lawyer. I received his contact information by word of mouth from a dear friend of mine. The day of court, I came in early but, he came in earlier. He shook my trembling hand, said it’s ok. I got it to a $100 dollar fine plus court costs. With my face bright red from fear and the lump in the back of my throat… I cleared my throat and managed to stumble out the words… am I going to lose my license?!! Tears welled up in my eyes, He said no you’re ok!! His smooth confidence just took so much anxiety away. I was traveling thru the state as a truck driver with a pair of brass knuckles I purchased in another state and was apprehended with them not realizing they are a felony in Michigan. My guy Mike got it figured out ahead of time and made the case disappear. Amazing job would definitely hire him again but hopefully never will need to. I was facing a Felony OWI 3rd in Plymouth District Court. Declined breathalyzer, high BAC, and wasn't a resident of Wayne County where the arrest took place...alot of unfavorable factors.
My world was turned upside down and was convinced my career, savings, and house were all gone in that order.
Mike didn't sugarcoat my situation nor did he promise what the results would be. However, he did say he would do his part if I did my part with detailed instructions he provided.
The results in my case on both the Criminal Court and Secretary of State side were nothing short of AMAZING.
Felony conviction got pleaded down to misdemeanor, successfully transferred to Sobriety Court close to where I live, no jail time, and limited driver license sanctions.
Mike is also a people person who can tell truly cares about his clients and community beyond being smart, charismatic, and sophisticated in Michigan DUI law.
My alcoholism is currently in full remission and I'm making a negative into a positive despite the terrible choice that I made that put myself and others in danger. I'm thankful that Mike assisted in my improvement without having to lose everything.
His support staff is great and friendly too.

Mr. Kassman is a great attorney backed by an incredible staff who work really hard. We had a horrible tenant that had to be evicted in Suffolk County and Mr. Kassman laid out a plan and executed on it flawlessly. The best experience during a worst case scenario. My son was facing false allegations of a Title IX violation. We researched and consulted several leading legal advisors throughout the country. Several took the approach of "fear factoring" us into needing their legal services but didn't necessarily express a true regard for my son's state of mind. After initially speaking with Atty. A very good friend of mine had highly recommended Angela Duhon. As it turned out her case load was full and could not take my case.
I ended up being blessed with Kylie Huffman-shayeb. She is caring on top of the case and usually response to an email within the hour. She’s even responded on holidays or weekends when she really doesn’t have to.
The father’s attorney never showed up for court would always extend things and never had any of the paper work he needed in on time. It also seemed like his lawyer was using another vacation as an excuse to delay things. This attorney had a two star rating on google which answered a lot of my questions.

I was very pleased with her. My first court case, my son was placed back into my custody after losing him to DCS. The father even abandoned his apartment and moved out of state so I couldn’t track him down . She was able to figure this all out for me. I didn’t really have anyone to help me. I highly recommend Steve Glink. He was professional, direct and to the point. Steve has a wide breath of legal knowledge - on more than one occasion Steve referenced legalise to other lawyers which they were unaware of. I had a very complicated case that lasted almost three years, included a school district, the state attorney's office, the police, and DCFS. It also included interviewing witnesses, reviewing camera footage and writing several briefs. While I was anxious and confused, Steve was an oak in a tornado. Ms. Gause and her partner, Ms Robinette, will work tirelessly to get the truth out in defense of their client. Our son was falsely accused by his disgruntled teenage daughterof raping her. The first trial ended in a mistrial (not defended by Ms Gause). When the accuser realized how Ms. Gause would defend our son (by demanding counseling records and more), the accuser dropped all the charges. If it had not been for Ms Gause and her excellent work our son would probably be in prison now for crimes he absolutely did not commit. She kept us informed of everything she was doing in his defense and was available to us by text or phone at any time. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a criminal defense lawyer.

Emily Gause and Laura Robinett are the best of the best super lawyers in Washington State.
I was falsely accused of something I did not do. Before the accusations, I was at the top of my career with great reputation. I was successful through hard work, innovation, and being kind & generous.
Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of teaching an immature ethically questionable student clinician who I caught lying, broke rules, and was late for work multiple times. When I counseled this struggling intern, she broke down, cried, and gained my sympathy. Over time, she called me her mentor and acted as though she could improve professionally and ethically. I was wrong. At the end of her training, to benefit her and her future patients, in her grading form, I wrote an honest feedback that she needed to improve professionally and ethically. She got murderously angry, but I didn’t know that she would retaliate the very next day with false accusations. She even lied to law enforcement officers.
My boss told me to go with the special agents and answer their questions.
*If law enforcement special agents want to ask you questions and accuse you of something that you did not do. Stop the interview. Tell them you want to invoke your 5th US Constitutional Rights. Then, call an attorney stat - Call Emily or Laura ASAP. If you don’t, you will be in a legal nightmare.*
Most people believe law enforcement officers are helpful and are unbiased neutral enforcers of the law, and from my experience, this is true.
However, when it comes to special agents who are trained as interviewers/interrogators, it seems, these officers will do what it takes, getting you tired, stressed out, shocking you, taking things out of context, using indirect threats, implied promises, hypothetical questions, repeatedly asking the same questions, denying your answers, cutting you off from answering, putting words that they want you to say right after asking a question, tricking you to wrongly remember, tricking you to miss speak, to get you the suspect to “go along” with their line of questioning, and much more. Then, they will write a one-sided mentally biasing report that contain only the pieces of the whole story in order to get you prosecuted.
When the human brain is in a mental shock or stressed, it cannot process information correctly. The Special Agents are trained to trigger the stress hormone in your brain. The longer you talk with them, the more likely the stress hormones will make you wrongly remember. Eventually, you will miss speak. This is self-incrimination. Fact is, the law enforcement special agents have qualified immunity when they are interviewing suspects. This means, they can legally lie to you without problems.
In my case, the interrogators used all their interrogation tactics with the guise of a neutral interview. In hindsight, I realize now, the special agents didn't care about the actual facts. They just wanted to get me to wrongly remember and miss speak in order to take things out of context to get me prosecuted. It is their job. They are good at their job.
Please note: the special agents had evidence the accuser had lied to them. But, the special agents never mentioned this fact in their investigation report. Why wouldn’t they? Remember, their job is to get subjects prosecuted. Investigators will publicly say they are supposed to be unbiased and neutral. But, from my experience, this isn’t true.
In the beginning of my case, I had incompetent prior lawyers. Only after Emily Gause and Laura Robinett took my case and pointed out to the prosecutor the non-credible evidence of the accuser and the mischaracterization of the special agent’s report, did the prosecutor offered me a guaranteed way, an SOC, to get my charge dismissed with prejudice. Emily and Laura explained all my legal options and risks, and I am grateful. I most highly recommend both Emily Gause and Laura Robinett above all other defense lawyers in Washington State.

My son was taken from his mother by DCFS I didn’t know this happened until 4 and half month after he was placed in a strangers house ! And this was the second DCFS case the first one I was the victim that didn’t press charges or show up to the case because my logic was I was the victim in that case so how do I need to show up ? Well I was very wrong and my rights to my son were limited to 1 supervised visit per year! So for 4 years I was basically paying her to see my kid and I was paying large sums of money to do so. When I showed up to court, the court provided me with so free but terrible lawyer I left court and was reaching out to her and her office with no response calling 4-5 times a day for over a week and that wasn’t gonna work! So I literally meet or had phone conversations with every attorney that deals with these type of cases and I only had a good feeling about Matt so I retained him he promised to get me full custody of my son and we came up with a solid game plan and instructed me every step of the way he was also was my therapist and a very patient friend because I too was in the system when I was a child so I was very hard to witness my child going through the same traumatic situation , Long story short Sole physical custody and the mom only gets a 4 hour visit per month this was my dream and it’s a reality now !!!
