Terry Garmey represented my daughter, who had been hit by a car. He and his staff were unfailingly professional, polite, and most of all, very effective. At mediation, he was an excellent advocate. We are very happy with the settlement that he negotiated, and both my daughter and I felt that Terry really cared about her and her future.

Recently used Garmey & Associates for a case that seemed overwhelmingly against a member of our family. It was handled very professionally and during the process there was no doubt that our legal advisor knew what direction to take the case. questions were answered straightforwardly so we had no misconception as to what might happen. The person I spoke with was incredibly rude, passive aggressive and couldn’t be bothered. It’s unfortunate when you’re looking for guidance and it leaves you feeling worse after the phone call. I only gave two stars because the call back was prompt.

Attorney Schwartz was hired to work on a VERY complicated and delicate OUI matter. This particular case involved a number of factors that could be considered to be "abnormal", and Mr. Schwartz was nothing short of articulate, aggressive, talented, prompt, and caring. He thought creatively about how to manage the problem at hand, and was able to achieve an outcome that was completely unexpected!! In short....he sincerely exceeded ALL of my expectations, and he did it all with a demeanor of someone who was genuinely invested in his clients best outcome. Stephen Schwartz represented a family member for me via a referral only, on very short notice, and with a very complicated and bifurcated criminal felony charge that also overlapped a substance abuse (alcoholism) condition and a separate and concurrent difficult divorce proceeding involving the same family member. Steve had to start his representation of the felony charge with all of the other complications ongoing and concurrent. Steve engaged with the attorney handling the divorce and assisted without asking, providing valuable assistance. Steve recommended the rehab facility we chose and it was an outstanding choice. Steve ultimately negotiated with the State and other attorneys involved to have the felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor and essentially no jail time or probation. My family member owes his chance at a new life to Steve. Steve is exceptional at what he does and he clearly is an expert at understanding Maine law, Further, it is clear to me from observation during the various proceedings that other attorneys, both private and with the State, highly respect Steve. It is very noticeable. Lastly, Steve is a very moral, kind and patient man. I have worked with many attorneys in my own career and Steve is exceptional in all aspects I would ask for in legal counsel.

Mr Schwartz helped me out by getting my felony charged reduced to nothing. His strongest point was definitely his great communication skills with me as well as the court system.
