Mr. Schlacter and Cynthia his assistant were great. He saved my home for me and my family. His fee was good and whenever I needed to reach him I was always able to go to the office or call Cynthia to get to him. I absolutely recommend him. He does not harass you for his fee.

I found myself one day needing legal aid to defend myself against charges of domestic assault, represention for divorce, and shared custody of my 3.5 year old child. Jennifer was referred too me by a friend. I meet with Jen, and felt from the start she was someone I could put my future in her hands. Jen had her work cut out for her because my now ex- wife had put togather a case against me to bet all cases. My assault case was dissmissed. My fight for shared custody went thur all the typical paths that one parent may take when trying to prove to the courts that another parent is unfit to have shared custody.Which included my child seeing a counselor at the age of 4 and 5. During my fight for custody I had asked Jen to do something that is most often frowned upon by the courts. That was to have my child be put on the witness stand in front of the judge, Presiding over my custody and divorce case. Along with many other factors in this case I strongly believe that the meeting of my child and the Judge showed the court how wrong it would be, and how much it may affect the way this child's life may have turned out had my ex gotten what she wanted. Jennifer fought for Shared Primary Residence, and won this for myself and my daughter. My daughter is 14 now and remembers everything that took place during the 3 years it took to get this case resolved. She does great in school. And has been playing basketball year round for 4 years now, she is in the 8th grade her grades are great, also does track.She has a life that would not be as it is had I not had a Lawyer that went the distance with every issue she could to prove the truth and get all the facts out for every one involved in my case too see. In the end I would not ever want to go through that mess again but if ever I had to I would want Jennifer Ferguson, to be repenting me in court. I always recommend Att. Ferguson to any one needing the best. I could never repay her for what she did for myself and my daughter. I met with a couple of lawyers prior to hiring Jennifer to handle my motion to modify case for my divorce judgment.
Unlike the other attorneys, Jennifer offered candid advice during our first meeting and described to me what my options were and the best case scenario could be.
She gave honest, frank, and realistic advice and feedback during the entire process and was very easy to work with. On several occasions the defendant in the case attempted to steer mediation discussions off topic and Jennifer turned the conversation back to the pertinent issues.

There were continuing issues with my divorce that continued for 10 years. My original lawyer was no longer working on these issues. I consulted 2 other lawyers to help solve the outstanding issues. I hired one of them. A resolution required me to go back to court and I wanted a lawyer to help me with this. Both attorneys contacted recommended an adversarial approach. After 10 years, I just wanted to end it.
Ms. Karkowsky understood my feelings and was supportive of my plans. She advised me on the necessary procedures and helped with the paperwork. She accompanied me into court. As an attorney she is caring, professional, knowledgeable, and intelligent. What I appreciated the most about Pat was she would provide honest, sound advice. Divorce is an emotional business to be in, and no matter how upset or angry I was, she would remain level headed, had the ability to calm me down and make sure I was making the correct decision, not a rash one. I met Harry in 1993, a few weeks before my son was born. At that time he had was a lawyer specializing in business and contract law for 6 or 7 years, and I was in the restaurant business. Since our meeting I've built a storage facility, another restaurant, an office complex, and a website hosting business. I consult with Harry anytime the situation is new, or the stakes are high.
The real test was a commercial tenant who signed a lease and became the tenant from "HE double toothpicks". The lease Harry wrote was rock solid. Every contingency the bad tenant brought up was covered in the lease. He knew without question what he had agreed to, signed it, and then tried to weasel out of it. The small cost of Harry's advice up-front saved me what might have been thousands without his expertise.
When I first got into business for myself I was advised "You always need a good accountant. A good accountant will tell you when you need a good attorney.” This has been some of the best advice I have received, and Harry is the best attorney I have worked with.
I am still in the website hosting business and enjoy it very much. On the rare occasion it's not so enjoyable I consult Harry. History has given me the confidence to be sure good business practices lead to the best possible result. Consulting Harry for your legal needs is a good business practice. I Highly recommend Harry Hackney.

Mr. Hackney is an outstanding attorney. I was being sued by several non-relatives who tried to take advantage of a dieing ex-spouse and then sued for assets of the deceased suggesting fraudulent use of a Power of Attorney and then wrongful use of the powers of an Executor. None of which was even remotely true. Mr. Hackney was suggested to me by another attorney who was handling the Probate case for our family and could not represent me in both instances. He had come up against Mr. Hackney in court and told me that Harry was "the best" and I came to find out that this is true. Both my attorneys were outstanding in what they did. Mr. Hackney was amazingly knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding and caring. He went after the others relentlessly with the law. I won't say that I enjoyed paying him every month for his services, but I will say that I certainly was billed fairly and got more than my monies worth. I have already recommended him to a co-worker and would highly recommend him to anyone. He is honest, knows his stuff, and works well with you and for you. I like to stay on top of things and so does Mr. Hackney, always keeping me informed as to what was going on with the lawsuits either via phone, email, or regular mail. He always let me know what his next steps were going to be, what to expect and an idea of what the cost would be, all of which I greatly appreciated. The outcome was exactly as Mr. Hackney had said it would be, favorable to me and our sons. My 2 year old child was abducted by her mentally unstable mother from our home in CA to her native Norway. On top she filed a baseless domestic abuse charge against me which threw me temporarily out of my house.
A friend advised me to contact Pauline. I had mixed feelings at first because she had not handled an international abduction case before and I knew that the odds were against me as the father with a young female judge in CA and Norwegian judges to deal with if we would win in CA. Pauline confirmed the difficult road ahead openly and told me that she would be personally committed and study the international treaties involved without guaranteeing success and be in constant feedback/consultation.
As a CEO of a large multinational I had experience with a lot of inside and top lawyers outside over my 20 years building my career. Pauline stood out! She has that unique combination of being down to earth/facts, communicating, listen, develop a joint strategy and go really deep and personal resulting in prime teamwork and effectively defining parts of international law that were uncharted under the Den Hague treaty against international abduction.
In short:
- The domestic violence accusation was denied.
- The child abduction was confirmed in LA Court.
- It was upheld in appeal in LA.
- The Court granted me (father) full legal and physical custody with limited supervised visitation for mother. With the mother and child being in hiding in Norway this was unenforceable.
- With the help and direction of Pauline we invoked the international Den Hague treaty in court in Norway with the help of a local associated law firm.
- Despite my child's Norwegian citizenship the Norwegian court ruled that the child should be returned to me in CA, upholding the original CA court order.
- In appeal the Norwegian high court upheld the ruling.
As a result of our teamwork my daughter is now happily living with us and has very limited visitation with her mother. She is almost 7 now and fighting visitations so we have a new problem brewing.
All of this would not have happened if Pauline had acted like a corporate or bureaucratic lawyer.
She took the time to familiarize herself with the details of international child abduction and made the crucial difference resulting in me having my kid back.
Her deep personal involvement and team working between us led to this highly unusual success and I am grateful.
Her hourly rate is steep but she is worth it and the final cost goes down a lot if you prepare yourself beforehand.
We are absolute happy with the way she handled our case and the result.

Mr. Boyle represented me and my infant son in a car accident. I almost blew the case when I spoke to the other drivers insurance company (who called me). He was able to correct the problem and got me a sizable settlement for my sons injuries.

My divorce took 6 long years to finish from February 2008 to January 2014.
Seven attorneys later, it was the divorce from hell that would not end.
Having to thank the corrupted “Industry” of California Family Law for that, too much time, energy and all of my resources were completely wasted, only to see my entire family become the victims.
I’ve experienced the “super attorney” who was only super at keeping me on the clock as they dragged their feet with delay after delay, only to satisfy their own financial interests, to the attorney who was very hard working and honest but lacked courtroom savvy/experience and the ability to get things done.
The other five attorneys were everything else in between.
My case was a train running out of control because of bad and/or dishonest representation (or lack of).
I met Robert Borsky at a workshop he was heading in 2008 that offered assistance to those who wanted to educate themselves on the subject and process of divorce.
I liked his workshop and message and decided to give him a call after being betrayed and abandoned by attorney number 6.
My brief experience with Mr. Borsky was a very positive one.
Besides being very accessible, he was always well prepared in our meetings both in and out of court and would exercise his ability to collaborate and contribute good ideas which complimented his knowledge of family law and my case.
Always fair and honest and fully engaged, he also shared a sensitivity level that really helped me rebuild my confidence towards a resolution to my case especially after six laborious years of litigation.
Additionally, he had no problem exercising his bravado in court or asserting himself when dealing with the rouge antics of opposing counsel.
In short, I was represented.
