I contacted Corporate Turnaround last year because I defaulted on my MCA’s, 6 total. I simply couldn’t repay them anymore. They froze my accounts receivables and filed lawsuits. I was with CT for one month and a half, paid roughly 4/6k and they did NOTHING. As a matter of fact more liens and lawsuits were filed in that time period. I realized that nothing was done because they have no legal power to do anything of meaning. As soon as I realized this I looked into bankruptcy and researched chapter 11, it sounded like this was the path for me. I inquired with a couple law firms and found one willing to work with me. I officially filed and all the harassment stopped, none of my accounts could legally be frozen anymore, they had to release anything they held. I was LEGALLY protected and if they did try to collect THEY had to face legal consequences. I wish I could say it was an easy journey but it’s not, it’s a very stressful and intense 6/8 month period to get to the repayment plan confirmation. I went into bankruptcy with roughly 400k worth of MCA’s. 8 months later I only have to pay one of those MCA’s due to the structure of the contract signed, shedding my debt down by more than 75%, and the repayment is ONE LOW MONTHLY PAYMENT. The Very first thing to realize is that THEY ARE NOT ATTORNEYS, again, THEY ARE NOT ATTORNEYS. They have absolutely no legal power. They will not stop any judgements, UCC Liens, lawsuits against you, they will not be able to release any money taken from you from a creditor. They will not and CANNOT represent you in any way shape or form in any court. All they do is call these companies and literally talk to them to please renegotiate a new loan and ask them to pretty please remove any legal action. The creditor might not want to deal with them. The creditor could simply say “Corporate turnaround, we are choosing not to deal with you. We are not negotiating anything with you and are going to pursue to collect from the company.” And that’s it, their whole business model is useless. What they also fail to mention is that before they PAY ANY CREDITORS they will collect their fees first, however much that is. If you make 4 monthly payments of let’s say 6000$, you might think and feel that ok I’m making progress, meanwhile those first payments, per other reviews sometimes a year +, are going straight to them for their fees and the creditors haven’t received anything thus raising the possibilities of creditors coming after you even though you paid 24k+ already. Once you realize that none of the money you have paid has gone towards any actual debt and want to cancel, they will claim that they are entitled to keep what you have paid so far for their “work and fees”. At which point you will be powerless to get any kind of refund. So now you’re out whatever you paid CT AND STILL have the full obligation of debts. In my opinion CT is a scam, they prey on already scared and struggling business owners and give them a false period of comfort. That small period of comfort is where they make most of their money if I had to guess. What they “claim” to do, you can individually do, which is to simply call your creditor and try to renegotiate your “loan”. The only way I see them being of help is if you have low dollar amount MCA or only 1, or it’s with a lender they work closely with. Even then, you will probably still have to make weekly payments for the full amount. If you have multiple MCAs and it exceeds 50/60k this isn’t the path for you, down the line you will realize you have paid them X amount and only 20% of it has gone towards the “debt.” and you are still legally liable for it if you can no longer continue to pay. I refuse to believe all their reviews are legitimate but this is my opinion. Reputable law firms will tell you these companies are a joke. So before you pay CT anything please reconsider your options. As I wish I hadn’t spent a penny on them. That money could have easily been useful elsewhere. If you’ve made it this far, I wish you the absolute best.

Like so many small businesses over the last few years we were faced with the tough decision of file for bankruptcy or try and negotiate our debts.
