I hired Mr.Underwood to handle my divorce. He and his staff were incredibly helpful and professional through the entire process. Any and all of my questions were answered in a timely manner and he was early any time we had to be in court. If you're in need of a divorce lawyer, I highly recommend Mr.Underwood.

If you are going through a divorce, I can't emphasize enough how wise you would be to be represented by Mike Underwood and his law firm. I had an especially high conflict divorce with all kinds of property, financial and custody issues on the line. Mike was very involved from day 1 and kept me from getting off on the wrong foot. This is huge because each step of the divorce seems to build on what has happened previously. Mike is youthful but experienced and has the energy and mindset to stay on top of things throughout the process. Take my word, you don't want an older, burned out divorce attorney who thinks he knows everything including what is good for you. Mike is not like that- he will give you all your options, along with his honest opinion of what you should do and what will most likely happen. In my case, he was right pretty much every time, which saves a lot of time, and money, as well as headache if not heartache. In the end, though nobody "wins" in a divorce, Mike helped me get everything I could have asked for given the situation, and I couldn't imagine a divorce attorney doing a better job. Heed my advice if you in this unfortunate situation- retain Mike, work with him, and listen to him throughout your case. You'll be happy you did when you come out the other side. Quick edit- I read some of the other reviews so let me add this: The law is the law and divorces are horrible and emotional. Don't blame Mike if things don't always go your way- they never always do, and you need to understand and accept that, especially regarding custody. Secondly, the courts are in downtown Syracuse and yes, sometimes Mike, like everyone, gets stuck in traffic or tied up in another matter. The courts and judges run the show, not the attorneys. Would you want your attorney to bail on you because he had another appointment? I doubt it, and Mike won't. We had to reschedule a few things, I had to wait a couple of times for him, and one time he had to represent me, in a court meeting, via phone. Things happen because there are other divorces happening besides yours, but he is responsible about it, and in the end things work out the same. So even though it is hard, don't let the emotional distress you are experiencing make you think Mike doesn't care about your case.

I had to find a new attorney very quickly in 2015. Met with Mike Underwood after work. He reviewed my case went over everything with me. He was very informative and well prepared for the many court appearances that would follow. I would definitely recommend this law firm to anyone. Hired Mike in January 2016 to deal with my child custody issues, fathers rights problems and a QDRO. Went to court many times and every time we would go to court I would lose more of my custody and fathers rights. Communication was terrible, the only emails I would get would be my bill every month. After 2 years of having the Underwood law firm represent me I let them go due to not receiving any results. I lost almost all my custody rights, my fathers right where null and void and my QDRO still has not been finalized. $8000 in debt after 2 years and no results. Definitely not a “Fathers Rights” attorney. Look elsewhere!!

I hired Mike to represent me for a child support and custody matter over the course of a year and a half. Mike was very unorganized from the start, however I had already paid my retainer, so I felt stuck with him. Mike would meet with me for an hour at $300 plus an hour to prepare for court, however he wouldn't use any of the information for our petition. Mike would wait until we arrived to court to try figuring out what to say to the judge and he wouldn't remember anything from our meeting. Mike's petitions were lacking critical information, which led me to ultimately lose the custody and child support case. Mike did not stick up for me in court when the respondent was talking negatively about me. I had to nudge him several times to stop her. During child support court the Judge wouldn't listen to anything Mike was saying, due to his lack of preparation, lack of knowledge of custody and child support matters, lack of negotiation skills and his poorly written petition. I feel that I could have done more if I only represented myself during this difficult time.
