Our experience with Heath Berger and his firm was and continues to be outstanding. Mr. Berger is always available to answer and all questions at anytime, explaining everything in layman terms. His front office staff is a combination of kind and compassionate always willing and able to help. Mr. Berger was not only able to assist us with our bankruptcy, but also with an additional closing on our parents home. Mr. Berger is a very skilled attorney, who fights for his clients and honestly cares about them.

I was referred and recommended to Steven Shumer of Berger, Fischoff & Shumer through another attorney. I had a somewhat complicated custody situation that was made worse by a prior attorney. Steve took the time and listened to my situation to get a complete understanding of where I was at and the problems I was facing. He then formulated a plan that made sense to me, as well as the court as it turned out. Things went as well and better than I had even hoped and I now have formal custody of my daughter! As a father, I know that it is not "the norm" to have custody of a teenage girl, but Steve, his associate Brian Schechter, and his entire staff helped that become a reality. retained Steve Shumer, of Berger, Fischoff & Shumer, LLP, based upon a recommendation of a co-worker who had gone through a nasty divorce with Steve as his attorney. My friend's recommendation was spot on. I needed a good attorney to assist me with a custody/visitation battle with my ex-wife and a support modification. It was a very complex matter with many issues. Steve did a wonderful job in being able to sort through all the nonsense that prior attorneys were unable to do. He spent an enormous amount of time with my and the attorneys. He drafted a custody and visitation schedule that was more detailed than expected based upon the special circumstances of my case. Getting the other side to settle and agree was not an easy feat, but he got it done. My ex-wife was extremely difficult and many times unreasonable. With the help of her attorney, and the ideas that Steve proposed, he got her to agree to terms that made it fair to both sides. I recently used Steven Schumer from Berger Fischoff & Schumer, LLP. I was referred to him by my Ex wife who had used him last year (not with me). She had great things to say about him and after using him I could not agree more. Steve was thorough, exact, and understanding throughout the whole process. Many times I tried to offer more than what I needed to. Steve constantly took time out to explain to me what was required and advise me against my own self damming wishes. The most important thing about working with Steve was that he met my needs by awarding my partner things I wanted to award her, while at the same time ensuring that I was protected from present or future litigation. A common term used by Steve was, “Stop, you hired me to protect you let me do my job.” Each time he said that I felt comfortable I was in good hands.
