I’m a long divorced woman of a certain age and have been so remiss getting my act together with any estate planning until I read many glowing reviews of this wonderful law firm. After an assessment with Kendall, I fell like the job at task isn’t overwhelming as I might’ve expected. I’ll add to my review after I visit with the attorney Kendall assigned me to.

We moved to Fuquay Varina from Ft. Myers, Fl. April. We already had a Trust, that we did several years ago in Florida. We needed to update our home, trust, wills and health to North Carolina law. We chose Carolina Family Estate Planing because of their high reviews. The staff who built a relationship with us was: Sara Munoz, Sara met us, got to know us and our needs. Sara is very knowledgeable and sets up your appointment with an attorney.Sara is also very friendly. When you talk to her over the phone, you feel her smile. Kellie Corbett (attorney) Again building that relationship. Kellie got to know us, our family, our conerns. Kellie really listens. Kellie went over our Florida trust and documents and made changes to meet North Carolina law. Kellie taught us the importance of each document. She went over each document and where they were in the binder. Kellie taught us the importance of keeping everything current. Kellie gave us security knowing where are current . Connor Davis (Operations Assistant) Connor is a breath of fresh air!! You feel like you have known him forever. Connor is a great listener and he is very knowledgeable. He goes over very patiently where documents are in binder. He reinforces what the attorney has taught you. If you do not understand, something. He will take your concerns to your attorney and they will address it. Our team worked perfectly together, to make sure all of our needs and concerns with met. Visiting attorney's offices isn't considered much of a fun experience, except by other attorneys. Maybe not even them. My wife and I had an interesting, informative appt with a relatable, personable legal expert last Friday! We first met Connor, who volunteered to find me cookies after I shot back that goofball request, after he offered us bottled water. Then we meet Kendall, who answered all our questions and even suggested excellent ideas that we hadn't even thought of. Great representative of the law firm, with a great sense of humor, even though we were talking about wills vs trusts. Not a fun topic, to be sure. Can't recommend them enough.

Best company to deal with. The staff listened to us and was very easy to work with. They were also very friendly. Such a delight. I would 100% recommend them.

I had a pretty bad experience with Carolina FEP, despite all their positive reviews online. I learned Jackie Bedard was a respected attorney through a media award, but was told she was not taking new clients, which was disappointing. Then felt less comfortable with junior lawyer they suggested in her place, as she had no bio information on their website and no reviews of that specific individual. I asked for a different junior lawyer with better credentials, but couldn't get in her schedule very quickly, especially for an in-person meeting (as they preferred virtual online meeting, which felt like a strange venue for such an important project like this). In order to secure appointment three months out, required $1,500 deposit, sitting on our funds during that time. When we finally met with her, she was nice and capable, but was not very flexible when we inquired if we could deviate from her suggestions. They have a process they like to follow, and if you deviate from that process, it appears to upset them. But, that didn't stop them from collecting $7,500 additional funds at the time of that meeting to start the documents creation. Which felt expensive for the "templated forms" we were getting, and didn't like the fact it was entirely prepaid--I would have expected something like half now and half upon completion, as other lawyers would typically do, which they were unwilling to do. Then a couple days later, after we thought we were all good with the start of the project, they decided to cancel the engagement on us, even though we had shared all our personal account information with them by that point (which did not feel good). And when asked for a detailed explanation as to why they cancelled, beyond the form letter they sent, they did not provide one or call me back (which felt amateurish). They refunded our monies and said they shredded our file (after my request), but why have us sign a contract, collect personal account info and collect money in one meeting, if you are going to cancel on us a couple days later. That left us back to square one, having to find another lawyer, months after we started this process. The whole experience left a very bad taste in our mouth. I am sure if you are "cookie cutter", inexperienced client with limited needs, they will do fine for you. But, if you are looking for them to get "creative and personalized" for your exact needs, I would suggest looking elsewhere. I am beyond disappointed here, especially given all the good reviews here. Hope you have better luck than we did.

Excellent info which gives me a better outlook on my Father's care

I found Carolina Family Estate Planning very thorough and efficient in helping you put together your estate plan. They explained everything, answered all my questions. The more expeditious you are in gathering the information necessary to establish your plan the smoother the process goes. They have a wealth of information on their website that explains different aspects of estate planning and you were able to contact them at any time with questions or concerns. I was very pleased with the entire experience.

My experience with CFEP has been simply outstanding. They have been thorough, knowledgeable, and patient with me. They have created excellent documentation making it simple for me to deal with financial institutions and other organizations to complete my trust. The entire team has been very supportive and helpful. Highly recomended!

My experience from beginning to end was excellent......everyone was very helpful and professional, explaining things clearly for me whenever I had a question. They were available throughout the whole process if I needed to ask anything at all. I would absolutely recommend them to friends abd family.
