I am delighted to write this review regarding my experience with Cape Fear Family Law, specifically with Matthew Geiger. I was going through a Marital Separation last year and making a purchase of a Home on my own. My situation was a bit different in that my Spouse And I were Not “unfriendly” or trying to be uncooperative with each other in any way. However, it still required legal stipulations as to the home purchase. Matthew handled every detail in a professional, and timely manner for me, and I actually had a smooth and successful outcome, with both the selling of my Marital Residence as well as the Purchase Of my new Home. I would gladly recommend Cape Fear Family Law To Anyone in need of an affordable and experienced Legal Representation in the time of Need! JD

I retained this firm for a custody case. From the start I was promised things that never happened. The firm told me that my 5k should get me through my custody case, and it ran out before ever going to the first court date. Upon time to go to court, they requested I pay another 5k to cover that date. They explained the one court date would be nearly 4000. Seems like they knew from the start the 5k was not going to make it very far, and painted a different picture to get my money. Janet personally promised me on our initial conversation that she would get my daughters last name changed to mine, that would be no issue at all, and this never happened. Janet also bailed from my case halfway through and appointed me a paralegal, Granger, with little to no experience to handle my case. This employee, while clearly having good intentions and seemingly caring about my case, was not focused and failed to provide me the services they took my money for. There was a huge hold up on my bank account information. I hand delivered my three accounts to the office, and explained the dates and timelines of the accounts, however they could not properly communicate this with the other party's lawyer. This ended up causing me to be sued by them. The opposing party seemed to believe that I had not given them all of my bank documents. I explained to Granger and Janet, and the front desk help multiple times that I have provided all of my bank accounts and other accounts do not exist. This became very frustrating as the miscommunication was drawn out for months and ended up causing an extra court date for me to be sued by the opposing party. I explained going into that court date that I had provided all the documents (explained this for what must have been the 10th time to the law office) and Granger proceeded to go into the court room and in front of the judge tell them that I have not provided all of my bank account statements and he will get the missing ones from me that week. This was the last straw for me. I communicated to the entire office that I provided all my bank accounts. It is documented. And yet the legal representative appointed to me goes to my case and tells the judge that I have not provided them all. My jaw dropped and I was in awe at the lack of ability to do their job. At the end of this, a permanent custody order was issued. I did not hear a single word from the law office. Not a thank you, not a goodbye and good wishes, simply offboarded me without saying a word. I would not recommend doing business with cape fear family law. I would have communicated my situation better myself without legal representation. Still confused why I paid 10k+ to be misrepresented in court. In the end I settled with a custody agreement on the opposing party's terms because I had no faith that this law office would be able to do their job. If you can't communicate something as simple as explaining my bank accounts have been provided, how could I confidently go into a trial with you as my representation?

Working with Allie was like working with a best friend. She takes time to get to know you in the midst of prepping for trials and gaining necessary information. She’s incredibly personable but professional 100% of the time. In the courtroom, she’s aggressive and articulate, and yet somehow still sweet and respectful, which in my opinion is a feat. I’m proud to say she was my lawyer in a time of need and I would definitely recommend her to anyone I know!
