I have called 2 lawyers and only Ben replied the very next day. I paid him through his website(paypal) and set up an appointment on the very next day. since it was a referral through osbar, it was $35 for the first 30 mins. I emailed the documents over to Ben and Ben has read them beforehand and provided us with solution efficiently in the phone call. The answer isn't what I want exactly but I really appreciate his efficiency and clearity !

I do not suggest using Mr.Ybarra. I was referred to him by the Oregon Bar Association. I'm not sure if it was because our 30 minute consultation was only $35 (far less than his regular rate) or what, but he did not provide any information I already knew nor did he help direct me on how best to proceed. Even his tone sounded like I was wasting his time. It definitely was a waste of my time and money. Save yours.
In response to Mr Ybarra's reply, I believe that also shows why you shouldn't contact him. He doesn't address me. That was pretty much our 20 minute conversation. He was not invested in helping me what so ever. As for lies, I'm not sure what he is referring. I knew the law about abandon property, he said he doesn't think (not a for sure nor did he ask to see documents) I should be charged for their attorney fees (which I figured) and I was pretty sure that management has to pay for throwing my property out. Again, didn't ask for any documents or specifics. Provided some maybes on out comes if I paid him but they were maybes. I was expecting someone to actually look at my case and be confident in what they can do. Anyway, again, don't waste your time.

Best lawyer. Hands down.
You may notice some one-star reviews and Ben’s quip responses. Quite frankly, it’s likely because Ben was blunt and to the point. There’s no need to waste time and Ben gets to the point. That’s what I wanted. I wanted a shark.
Ben successfully wrote a demand letter to my landlord on my behalf and we acquired double what was due to me. He had great turnaround times and didn’t sugar coat anything.
If you’re looking for a lawyer to waste your time, tell you what you want to hear, and possibly make things worse for you… then don’t go with Ben. But if you’re looking for speedy turnaround times, active communication, and a lawyer who’s going to get the job done- this is your man. He offered a reasonable price for services and I was so appreciative.

Worthless, charged for 30min consultation and barely stayed on phone for 10min. Wouldn't listen to everything that we had
Update: we obtained an attorney and won our suit even after Ybarra said we had "no leg to stand on"

Ben Ybarra is very professional, thorough, straightforward, and knowledgeable in the law. He guided me and fought for my rights as a tenant. Wonderful at explaining options in a clear and concise way. I just did a consult, and it gave me the guidance I needed for handling a personal matter. Thankfully it worked out on its own and I didn’t need to pursue action, but I would definitely come back to work with Mr. Ybarra should I need consult or legal representation in the future. Do not waste your money!
Sadly I wish I would have checked the reviews and noticed someone else had made the statement about Benjamin taking a deposit and then shining his client on. What a waste of time and money… I have used other professional attorneys in the past, you can clearly tell he’s very inexperienced within the first five minutes of talking with him.
Spend your money wisely and go elsewhere.. unless you have money to throw into the waste basket after a 10 minute conversation. What a horrible experience..

It was a big waste of time and money. I submitted a contact request detailing my situation and he responded saying he'd be able to assist with legal action and suggesting a 30 minute consultation. I assumed this meant he could actually help the situation or provide advice on what to do legally but when the call came it only lasted 7 minutes and the only advice I got was to let my lease run out or negotiate in person with my landlord. All of which I was already aware of as options and had mentioned in MY email to him. All of what he said could have been mentioned in an email since there isn't anything real that I can do legally so I feel like he conned me out of $55. I paid $55 for 30 mins, I only got 7 minutes of a call and it didn't give me any new information on what to do legally. He could have just been honest about the situation and sent me an email saying there wasn't anything I can do and I wouldn't have had to waste my money and time.

I had a 4 or 5 month email battle with Macy's regarding a 1 1/2 year old mattress eligible for a 10-year replacement warranty. They had a 3rd party mattress inspector, who misinterpreted the Stearns and Foster warranty language and denied my claim. Macy's withheld the photos and report supporting their denial and when they did release them, they actually supported my warranty claim. Yet, they would not correct their mistake.
I consulted with Mr. Ybarra regarding how to go about taking Macy's to small claim's court. He advised me that I should bypass Macy's and send a letter of dispute directly to Stearns and Foster and take them to small claim's court only after exhausting that process. Within about 4 days of sending them the letter, pictures, and email documentation with Macy's, I had an agreement that S & F would replace the mattress with an upgrade with no delivery charge. A quick solution with no wasted time filing unnecessary small claims court paperwork and testimony. Mr. Ybarra helped me cut through the bureaucracy at an incredibly reasonable cost.
