I highly recommend Steve Jacobson and his firm! I contacted Steve for help navigating the complex process of reinstating my daughter’s eligibility for special education services. From day one Steve listened to the background I provided and to the outcome we were hoping for with the school district. After reading through subsequent documentation I sent, he provided an honest assessment of our situation with realistic expectations. I never felt like just another client for Steve. He took our case personal and it was evident that he spent the time to gain a thorough understanding of my daughter’s history and that he truly cared. Steve is extremely knowledgeable on the laws and procedures, and was consistently able to explain every stage of the process in a clear manner. His communication and follow through with both representatives of the school district and with me were excellent. During a very stressful and emotional time, Steve was a calming, supporting force and very professional in his dealings with the school district. He was able to negotiate a successful outcome for my daughter. If any other issues arise with my daughter’s educational experience I would not hesitate to contact Steve again!

I am a mom of autistic twins that no matter how hard I tried could not get the school to work with me and my children. The lack of staff prior to Covid and not abiding by the IEP for over two years had me at my whits end. . When I finally could no longer handle the situation I reached out to Attorney Jacobson. All I can say is WOW I wish called when I first had issues. . Attorney Jacobson was very professional and was kind enough to let a furious mom rant over the phone. The results of my child’s case has made a difference in her education profusely. She really is excelling. It is also nice to periodically be thought of even after the case has closed with updates on new laws that would benefit my kids education. This is truly someone that cares for the kids.. If I were to have someone inquire about legal services for their children, I hands down would recommend Attorney Jacobson.

They don't care. Law firm imploded, so he had to drop clients. Couldn't represent the clients he took on when the other lawyers left his firm. Said horrible things about me to get released. Everything was done last minute, not in a timely manner. Left me high and dry struggling to find a new attorney at the last minute. Screwed over my case.

After 2+ years of advocating for my child and failing miserably at obtaining any type of special education services, it was clear I was in over my head and needed help. I contacted Jacobson and John, explained the situation , and met with both Steve and Holly the following week. They listened to my concerns and explained the entire process thoroughly and in realistic terms. While they made no promises, they felt we had a solid claim against the district. Steve was a fierce advocate for my child and somehow negotiated with a VERY reluctant school district to eventually obtain a settlement for private school tuition. My daughter is now attending a small private school and is THRIVING in an inclusive environment that provides strong special education support as well as a fantastic emotional support program. For the first time in years, my daughter looks forward to school and is eagerly participating in classes. The morning battles have ceased completely, and the change in her attitude and self esteem have been profound. In short, I HIGHLY recommend Jacobson and John for anyone struggling to obtain services for their child. They’re honest, down to earth, won’t promise the moon, they do a fantastic job of guiding families through a complicated and overwhelming process, and I felt the fee was fair for the service we received.
