I hired Janell to file a Trademark application for my new business a few years ago. She was very expensive but an acquaintance recommended her. The trademark process is long but when it wasn’t progressing to the next phase as it should have I called USPTO myself. I spoke with a representative to see what was causing the delay. The representative informed me that the wrong codes were put on the application. I contacted Janell to tell her what the correct code should have been. She fixed the application without apologies and then sent me a bill for her time. I decided to let it go at the time because I was too busy to fight with her and I thought I wouldn’t have to deal with her again. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. 7 years later she sent me a bill for letting me know the trademark is up for renewal. I decided I wasn’t going to let her get away with it again so I got another attorney to help me deal with her. She is very unprofessional, and her business practices are suspect.

A very positive 5 star recommendation for Slutsky Elder Law! A friend was in need of a legal firm to assume guardianship of his cognitively impaired sister after the death of her husband. He asked the staff of the continuous care facility where she was placed if they could recommend a legal firm that could take on court approved guardianship. The staff of the care facility’s first choice was Robert Slutsky! Our friend retained Rob, aka Robert, to oversee his sister’s affairs and petition the court for guardianship rights which were granted. Our friend was very comfortable and pleased in the manner in which Slutsky Elder Law handled his sister’s situation and the dispersion of her estate after she passed. My wife became the sole owner of a house in Philadelphia after the 2 friends she purchased it with in the mid 70’s passed away 3 months apart in 2022. My wife moved from Pa. in the late 80’s for a work position but she still maintained her 1/3rd. interest in the house. We needed a law firm to represent her as she now had full ownership of the Philly house and with no plans to relocate she wanted to sell it. Based on our friend’s experience and reading reviews from the internet we sought out the firm of Slutsky Elder Law, we required a firm that we could put our blind trust in, figuratively and literally as we are blind and live out of state! We communicated with Rob by e mails and phone calls and told him our situation, he agreed to take the case and covered completely what the process would be to get to the point when the house could be sold, the time line for government agencies to review the inheritance tax filing and what we could approximately expect to pay in taxes. Rob and his first class assistant/paralegal Kathy Amato kept us well informed and updated on tax deadlines and discounts available for early payment. Rob’s fee was very reasonable and he let us know in an early e mail what it would be and what his services covered. We never felt like just another case. We had many questions which Rob or Kathy always responded to quickly and in terms we could understand! We praise Slutsky Elder Law for their professionalism, personal service and confident atmosphere of the firm! We have only 1 regret, we never got to meet in person! Rob and his team are compassionate, clear, and incredibly responsive. We didn't really know what to expect when working with an elder care lawyer, and we were intimidated by the steps we were facing. But Rob + team helped us every step of the way, ever patient with our unending questions — we're grateful we found them and were able to work with them.

The Philadelphia office is much better than the Mt Laurel office. Very dissatisfied with this office. Charges for services are a complete guess work. Started off well but Attorney Michelle Ferreri ended showing her lack of professionalism. If you use be prepared to pay a team of four individuals without charges being explained. Still wondering how over $2300 can be charged for three days of back and forth emails.

When I first contacted the office, I wasn’t sure what questions I should be asking about estate planning, power of attorney, advanced directives, or Medicaid planning.
