Stay clear of her! Will take your money and run! We gave her 6000.00 up front (which she demanded) and she done absolutely nothing in 3 mos time. We had to fire her and end up paying another $10,000 to another attorney to get something done. She claimed she would refund part of it back to us; never did see it of course! Another lie!!! Her staff are puppets and lie for her as well. She shouldn’t be allowed to practice!!

If you do not retain Grisham, Poole, & Carlile to represent you, be prepared to be represented by the second best, because these guys are by far the best. I would recommend using Kayla Upchurch for your divorce proceedings. I was so anxious going through this unfamiliar process, but Kayla never wavered in her confidence that we could get the results I needed. I trusted her confidence right through to the end, and she was right. She is easy to talk to & encouraging, and that made all the difference for me. I also felt like she was extremely reasonable in regards to billing. I would often hear from my ex-spouse that he was being texted daily by his attorneys and charged for every text and was frustrated. I never had this experience with Kayla OR her paralegal. I am a former client of Ngwolo and Associates and I have mixed feelings regarding this firm.
Granted, while Mr. Ngwolo was able to have my case dismissed (I was the victim of a corrupt, stupid, and incompetent police office who cited me with a bogus charge almost a year ago. I was physically attacked by a violent lunatic that lived at the same residence as me. I defended myself and called the police. Again, the stupid, biased, and ignorant officer that arrived on the scene cited me instead of the perpetrator), he failed in every other aspect of our attorney client relationship...
I'll just give you the pros and cons...
Pros
1. He was able to get the bogus charge dismissed. Up until this happened (please see above) I had no criminal background other than a parking ticket when I was a teenager. Anyway, it literally took less than 15 minutes to have the entire case dismissed.
I appreciated his due diligence in that regard. He did what I hired him to do...
However, everything else was subpar and below standard...
Cons
1. My attorney showed up nearly TWO HOURS late to my court hearing. I am not kidding.
I got the impression, from day one, that he never took my case seriously given that it was a Class C misdemeanor. I get that it was not a big deal in comparison to the criminal cases he usually deals with; but this was major to me. I have been a law abiding citizen and I have a career where my good name and reputation are paramount. Having even a misdemeanor could impact me negatively...
Yet he showed up almost two hours late to my first court appearance.
And of course my case happened to be the first case on the docket. I texted his office a million times and could not get in contact with him...just his poor paralegal trying his best to comfort a client who is distraught because of his counsel's unprofessionalism.
He finally showed up and didn't so much as even apologize.
2. It was impossible to get in contact with him, absolutely impossible! The only time I ever spoke to Mr. Ngwolo was when I hired him and at the hearing. Otherwise, getting a response from him for much needed questions was like pulling teeth from a dragon skull. I know that attorneys have other clients and are busy. But if I am paying you a retainer fee you owe me atleast a once a month conversation.
3. I finally severed my relationship with him five months ago for consistently being MIA. I hired him with the intent of dismissing the case AND expunging it from my record. Once the case was dismissed I received radio silence.
Needless to say I fired him. And from that point I had to hound him for months to send me a refund for the remainder that he owed me.
I finally got it a week ago.
Moreover, he tried to use the excuse that expunction is a very long process.
Apparently not since I had the case expunged recently, by myself.
Anyway, he is a good lawyer and knows his stuff, I will say that. However, given my experience, I would not recommend.

I would stay far away from this firm.. I am in complete disbelief.. Michelle Edens took my money (which I paid in full upfront) and filed a motion to rescind, then didn’t even act on the motion. Due to her negligence, I was put in a situation where the only option left was to plead guilty to something that should have easily been dropped from the start. Michelle was very confident that the charges would be dropped, and she sweet talked me into hiring her. She and her colleague were laughing at the charges due to my clear dash cam footage showing that the officer pulled me over for a false reason (improper lane usage, clear video showing I did not cross any street markings, or as the officer claimed that I actually hit the curb), which led to a DUI. She told me that she could almost guarantee the charges would be dropped due to my evidence. I received zero communication about what was going on with the case throughout the entire process. At the second court appearance, Michelle did not even appear in person as I was instructed to. I wasted almost 7 hours of my time (including an hour and 40 minutes to drive there and back) when I could have just appeared via Zoom as she did for a continuance. I also had to speak to the judge, as Michelle decided to go on Zoom for 10 minutes and log off before my case could be heard. I was literally the last person in the courtroom and had to call her office multiple times and send multiple emails for her to get back on. I was then told that they (Michelle & Jason Kunowski) would send me any evidence they received from the state and that they would keep me updated. Not a single word from them besides telling me to complete a DUI evaluation. I came to court for the third time (which I was led to believe would be the final hearing with a rescission) only to see that they sent a lawyer I have never met or talked to. He then tries to confirm with me that I have been updated with what is going on and if I have any questions about the plea agreement. I had zero clue what was going on with the case and was surprised to find out that they had already drawn up an agreement for me to plead guilty to the DUI. This new lawyer was also confused as to why I was not told anything. I don’t hold anything against him, as he did try his best by asking the state for a rescission attached to the agreement on my request (I initially was not going to sign off on the agreement) but was instantly denied. Apparently my evidence was never used, nor was there any attempt to actually defend me, and they wanted me to take whatever offer the state threw out. Knowing how far along I already was with the court process and how badly I have been represented by this firm, I couldn’t think of any other option. Now I have to deal with an additional $3k+ in fees and fines, a year of court supervision, a license suspension, and multiple DUI classes. Let this be a WARNING… There are plenty of skilled, competent lawyers out there, so look elsewhere!

He is also an instructor of field sobriety tests, teaching lawyers from all over the country the tricks used by police to arrest suspected DWI drivers and tips to challenging those tricks. Don has argued before the United State Supreme Court and is the lawyer judges/justices turn to when their family members are arrested for DWI. If charged with a DWI un Illinois, give Don a call.

Do not hire this lawyer group if you are in Mojave Valley AZ. They are not familiar with the laws and rules of this County. I was told one thing then another happened many times. Very inconsistent and a waste of my $8000. Alex was a nice guy, but as far as a Lawyer for Mojave Valley AZ I would not recommend him. Maybe he is good in Mesa Az but not for Mojave county Arizona.

I watched Mr. Leiva go way above and beyond for a very close family member the first time I ever met him. Throughout the entire process he stayed in touch with my family to let us know what was going on at all times this was in 2002 in a federal court room.
In 2012 Mr. Leiva was called by my family again for what was a very very weak case but very very serious charges and accusations he treated as if it were like any other case that he puts hrs and hrs of work witch is very highly appreciated. You most definitely want his brilliant and savvy mind on your side 100%.
I had issue with Mr. Leiva and of course with a mind as brilliant as his it doesn’t come cheap, nor should it but after spending as much as my family did throughout the years one would like to think I can give this family a break. Like I stated my family has been relying on Mr Leiva since 2002 for a wide range of cases, knowing my family’s personal situation I just would have thought that just maybe he would be a bit more understanding when it came to the amount of money that was spent especially in my case .
With that said I’d recommend him to loved ones without hesitation, he’s simply on a different level!

This guy should be in Prison. Abused my children. Violated their rights. If poor people had rights. I sure didn't. He lied to me, helped create and convict me for crimes I didn't commit and was part of a conspiracy to use the American justice system to commit child abuse. Don't believe me? I can prove it. In an email from 2020, this POS tells me that in 2018, getting Google records is nearly impossible for the defense to do. A LIE.....GOOGLE TAKEOUT... My son's uncle is an investigator for the Butte County DA, he and his sister (my son's "mother) committed numerous felonies, the proof of which needed to be destroyed...
And my children needed to be abused. Again. I can prove it. Robert Marshall should be disbarred and put in prison.

Doug and Derek both helped me when I couldn't find any other attorney to work with me financially he helped prior to my court date with getting a warrant set aside.
