I am very satisfied with how quickly and efficiently with my experience was, and the outcome of my case represented by Nicholas Mermiges. I recently have been through a custody battle with my 3 year old's father, never married. I consulted with a few other local highly reputable custody attorneys whom specialized in similar situations over prior months. I was told these lawyers wouldn't be able to devote their time to our inevitably drawn out and ugly battle. My child wasn't worth fighting for in their eyes, but Nick made it clear that he valued my child's protection and safety. I was referred to this practice while catching up with an old friend, and I feel so blessed. I met Nick for a consultation and had no doubt that I was done looking for the most qualified. He listened to me and recognized how critically the situation affected my daughter. We were able to settle in mediation. Jack Swerling is the best defense lawyer in the state, bar none. I was charged with two very serious crimes. His team of professionals ( with Matt Bodman ) were able to get my 1/2 million $ bond reduced significantly and then thanks to their work, my case was dismissed / not guilty. Don't gamble with your life, call Jack. Great compassionate, professional known by EVERONE in the state as the best.

I've known Jack's reputation and was hesitant about calling to schedule an appointment because I thought it would be impossible to get an appointment because of his popularity, but I did and was able to get an appointment that day . He and his staff are very professional and he is definitely the best defense attorney in South Carolina and probably even the whole US!
