Rude and crooked. Wouldn’t speak with me directly, everything went through assistant, in a smug and condescending fashion. Took my retainer and also billed me hourly. Then, when I finally had enough and fired her, she over-billed the final invoice and asked the judge to remove from estate account directly. And still hasn’t refunded my retainer money. I honestly couldn’t have had a worse experience - do not recommend.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had from a legal professional. I hired another attorney. - All money required upfront, nothing refundable - and they overcharge compared to others - They are SO slow. It took 5 months to write a draft of a petition, whereas my new attorney had a draft to me within a week - They are rude and try to make you believe that they are the only ones who have any expertise (they don't) - Failed to include important documents for my case in early discovery - they only sent them to me after 5 months of waiting for the draft petition - and these documents were what validated core points in my case - Obnoxious and petty accusations made when I communicated that I had hired a new attorney - Not once despite repeated requests, was I communicated with by the attorney after the first meeting - only her assistant Okay - now here are just the annoying things they did that are not necessary when providing services to other adults and professionals: - Required paper signed engagement instead of using online signatures - Required payment via money order or cashiers checks instead of accepting any form of online payment - Sent documents to my US mailing address instead of sending me PDFs when they knew I was out of the country - Refused to send a draft that can be marked up or edited - apparently only they are smart enough to do that Overall this firm provides terrible service. I recommend avoiding them.

When I was a juvenile my father hired Kelly to obtain custody of me and my sibling. She is an excellent attorney, her staff is very hands on and will help any way they can! I would highly recommend Kelly Jackson Smith and would hire her, if I may ever need an attorney.
