Being in a custody battle, is painful, hurtful and stressful. I was served to go to court and had a very short amount of time to hire a lawyer. I am thankful Jake responded and met me over the weekend. He took a firm approach, but understood my anxiety.

I had a lengthy case that was extremely complex. My previously lawyer had told me my case was "unwinnable". When my previous lawyer bailed on me when things were rough, Jake made sense of everything. My case had dragged on for 2 years previous to Jake. Within 2 months of hiring Jake, my litigation was over. The thing that really won me over, besides the outcome, was that he clearly invested time in my case when I was not around. I 100% recommend Jake. I truly hope to never need an attorney again, but if I did, Jake will be my first call.

My husband and I met with Mr. Gilbreath regarding a sensitive family matter. Mr. Gilbreath was compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. Jake was great help coming late into my 2 year long proceeding to win a 50/50 custody agreement against the Becky Beaver firm. His counsel was honest and robust with level headed approach which was successful to negotiate a satisfactory custody agreement. Before Jake got involved my case went sideways do an unpleasant experience with an arbitrator, beware in agreeing to arbitrator in my case I would not agree to have an arbitrator for to remedy a mediated settlement agreement in the future as you give up your right to a fair court proceeding with proper due process. Jake was successful at negotiating and taking the proper steps to make up for the gross mishandling of the arbitrator in our case.

After going through the process of filing petitions on my own, to try and not only locate my daughter whom I hadn't seen in over three years but also to gain full custody of her and terminate her biological mothers parental rights and having no success; I went to the internet and searched and searched until I found a lawyer whom seemed to believe in a fathers rights just as much as a mothers rights. As a convicted felon and being the father whom has spent very minimal time with my daughter, I knew my goal would not be an easy one to obtain but after meeting with Jake, I knew he was the perfect fit to help me gain custody of my daughter; he knew our situation was a difficult one, but he has believed in us from the get-go and in less than six months, he helped me to obtain full custody of my daughter. Our journey is not yet over with Jake, however, we have full trust in his ability to help us continue to reach our legal goals.

Brian Walters is an amazing attorney. This review is going to be slightly long, so please bear with me, but I feel a short review would not do proper justice to how well Brian handled my divorce case. By the time I contacted Brian Walters, my divorce case had been dragging on for over seven months with no resolution in sight, and I felt that my attorney at the time was not properly representing my interests. I called Brian's office and was immediately connected with Brian. He spent over an hour on the phone with me listening to the particulars of the case, and explained to me how he would handle my case going forward. He even advised me on how to handle removing my previous attorney from the case. After that first phone call, I felt like I was in control of my case for the first time since I had filed for divorce. I removed my previous attorney from my case and got Brian a retainer fee (which was very reasonable). I met Brian at his office, and was very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of both Brian and his staff. After speaking with Brian for half an hour, he had revised documents filed with the court, a trial date set, and a strategy to close my case. He then (very professionally), contacted my ex with a settlement offer. Unfortunately, my ex was unwilling to settle, so we took the case to trial before a judge. Brian made sure I understood the process before hand, and was extremely competent, poised and professional. Mr. Walters was able to complete my divorce case (with a favorable resolution for me) in less than two months. Beyond Brian's excellent understanding of family law, his consummate professionalism, and his unflappable confidence, he is also very accessible. At no point during my case did it take more than 20 minutes for him to respond to me - even on weekends and while he was on vacation. Additionally, he always treated me with the utmost respect and made it very clear that it was his top priority to represent my interests to the best of his (considerable) abilities. I have nothing but great things to say about this law firm. After searching and speaking to many attorneys, Brian Walters was the most knowledgeable in family law. My case was different as I live in Chicago IL, but needed representation in Austin, TX. I was worried about price and communication. Brian Walters asked for about half of what other attorneys asked for a retainer. Communication with him and his office was amazing. There is a portal where you can see invoices, documents, and contact Brian Walters directly and he responds fast! Now that my case is finalized I feel comfortable recommending Brian Walters to anyone who needs to go through family matters like Child support.
