I hired Jake for my child custody modification case. Before I hired him, I knocked on lots of doors to find "that right lawyer" who could understand what I was trying to do and who was confident enough to take the case, and mostly, who could be honest with me without BS. I almost immediately noticed a few unique qualities that separate Jake from other lawyers and these qualities were shown throughout the time while he was working on my case. He is super intelligent. I mean, we all would like to believe that lawyers are intelligent, but Jake's intelligence is different. He never forgets anything you say to him even in passing, especially anything that has something to do with the case, he will remember and use it at the right time. I have dealt with lawyers who forgets what was said in previous discussions. He never misses anything, and while he is able to see big pictures instantly, he already knows how to scale down and feed his client the information step by step. I was also impressed about this responsiveness. The man works 24 hours and will respond day and night. Not only that he is responsive, he also believes in technology--he will communicate via text messages!! My lawyers in the past didn't really communicate with me via text message, so this was really surprising. I also noticed he was very clear on when and on what matter he would communicate via emails or text messages. He is also highly efficient. I had lawyers trying to have me doing things even before the case went to the court. Jake did not want to do that. This actually made a bit weary in the beginning despite all the good impression I had on him. All other lawyers wanted my child to see a counselor of their choice, but even though Jake had one with whom he works closely, he did not want my child to go through that unless it was absolutely necessary. This saved me tons of time and money. My case had to stop in the middle of the way so it never went to the court. However, the whole time I was with him, I was very confident and I could tell he would be very aggressive to fight for me. I knew I was in good hands. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who especially has a very complicated and difficult case to handle.

Jake listened to my needs and explained clearly in terms I understood (without a law degree) how those needs could be met without passing judgment or making me feel stupid/like I was asking too much.
