Douglas Atkinson was recommended to me by a family member as the go to attorney to defend my case and he and his team did not disappoint. Douglas gave me his personal cell phone number and answered every text that I sent him in a timely manner. He would even call me after hours to calm my nerves as I have never been in trouble with the law before so I was more than nervous about the whole situation. He and team was in constant communication with the DA’s office and were able to resolve my case with a dismissal upon completion of a Pretrial Diversion Program. I am a REAL PERSON and if your FREEDOM is important to you READ THIS! After a bad breakup my ex, which is an attorney herself, she decided she wanted to make me suffer. She filled a bogus complaint with the Montgomery county Sheriff's office, and from that day my life turned to hell. This was the first time something like this has ever happened to me, and I was very unaware of the process since I never even had a parking ticket to my name. I initially hired an attorney in Conroe, I thought was knowledgeable and competent, but as time progressed I realized, I wasn't getting anywhere with him, and my situation was getting worse. As a last straw of hope, I got Doug's number from a friend in The Woodlands, He told me to go see Doug. At this point I was already pretty deep in the process, and had to appear in court every month, and I was even offered a plea bargain with serious prison time. When I called to setup the appointment, with Doug they first asked me the trial dates, and when I told them it was in the upcoming week, Doug immediately met with me the very next day. When we met Doug wanted to know the story with my ex, and almost immediately started strategizing. My case it was a little complicated since my ex stole my backup hard drives and the sheriff's department confiscated all my computers and electronics, we didn't have a lot to work with to prove my innocence. Immediately after our first meeting Doug gave me his personal cell phone number and communicated with me on a regular basis. Every time I had a question or a concern I sent him a text and he replied always, almost immediately, is if I was texting a friend or a family member, this put me at ease knowing the attorney fighting for my innocence and freedom is well familiar with my case and working hard to resolve it. This would be the time to say my case was not very common and a little intricate. (An uncommon felony charge) I spoke to two Houston attorneys, that didn't even want to deal with it. To make a long story short, after Doug and his team, Bruce and Shannon, started handling my case, the communication between them and the DA's office was on a regular basis, until the case was DROPPED about 2 months later. Doug is a FIGHTER and a WINNER! You want him on your team if your FREEDOM is important to you. And a little footnote regarding some stuff I read in the reviews. I am a very real person that lives in The Woodlands Texas and has lived here and conducted business here for most of my adult life. I had never been accused of any wrong doing in my life, let alone to have a felony lodged against me. I was truly out of my realm with this horrible charge but thankfully found Doug. At first I was untrusting and skeptical but as nearly 3 years of horrible treatment from the state went on Doug really had my back and was there for me and my family. I was very nervous as this went to trial but also encouraged by Doug’s presentation. He really made me feel that he knew I could be proved innocent. Once we went to trial he was a total boss in the court room very professional but strong and steady as an ox. He fought tooth and nail throughout out a long painful trial for me. He proved my innocence and sent me back to my family with a victory. If you are facing a serious charge you want Doug Atkinson by your right side at trial.
