Michael Cohen and associate Donna Cooper are wonderful! So helpful and knowledgeable. They helped me get my husband accepted by Medicare for his skilled nursing facility. I highly recommend them to anyone needing an elder care attorney.

My family has been working with Michael Cohen & Associates for the past 3-4 years. He helped us set up all the legal needs for my father-in-law and at the point that we had to start taking full care of him, we were legally prepared to proceed. This relieved us of so much strain and stress. Mike and his associate, Donna Cooper, have been more than we could have ever hoped for in helping us get my father-in-law approved for medicaid/medicare and then helping us set us his estate. Donna has always helped us with all the paperwork and answered every question that we have ever had. They are quick to respond and explain in detail the processes so we understand what is happening at all times. Michael Cohen and his staff were very helpful during a particularly stressful time for me. I met Mr. Cohen when he spoke at a care givers' support group. I took advantage of the free consultation before meeting with Mr. Cohen to update my estate planning and then Ms. Donna Cooper successfully handled the application for Medicaid for my husband. Ms. Cooper was very knowledgeable of all the Medicaid requirements and details and graciously handled all my questions. I highly recommend them.

My mom's application for medicaid was complicated, with a switch from a Star Plus application to nursing home medicaid in the middle of the process. Donna was an absolute godsend all the way through the process, answering an abundance of questions via phone and email. She even made phone calls when my application stalled and figured out what was going on in a very complicated system. Mr. Cohen was so easy to talk to, and had a calm and reassuring presence as he guided me through each stage of the process. I could not possibly have filed my mom's application on my own. I can't say enough positive things about Michael Cohen. I live in Georgia with a family member in Texas and needed to get a lot accomplished during our visit. I provided an agenda of items that were needed and he and his staff met every need and I'm so appreciative. For those going through this process with a loved one, Michael Cohen is a great partner through the process. In response, to those that feel the cost were high... I can only speak for myself, but I went in with all the items that I needed identified ahead of time and the cost were within reason compared to other attorneys. If you don't have a plan you can literally talk for days about all the scenarios you and your family could face and that will raise your spending. Good luck!
