I was very unsure of how to proceed with this being my 1st accident injury claim. I researched attorneys, read reviews and felt the urge to move forth with this law firm. My attorney was David Swick and after, he thoroughly explained the process to me, I felt more at ease and trusted him to move forth on my behalf. He did everything he said he would and "CRUSHED" my medical bill costs as he would say lol. I would recommend anyone to Smith and Hassler and David Swick!! I am VERY pleased!

John Carter and his staff were good to me the first day I walked in. They are very prompt and kept me up to date on my case. Great experience with the firm very sincere and honest folks.

What an amazing experience! My husband and son were hit from behind by a young lady, while they were at a complete stop. Not to long later my child had a really weird knob poking out of his rib. After a very long year of doctor visits and x-rays, my mom suggested we call a lawyer about it. Feeling hopeless, I called multiple lawyers who wanted a down payment and with that came no guarantee. I came across Smith & Hassler. With hesitation, I did not want to be "those sue happy people", I called them. What an amazing choice I made! When we went to the consultation, we pulled up to a very nice building, walked into a beautiful office and met Daragh. He assured us this was not an easy case due to the time past, and the lack of doctor notes that UTMB had given us. Daragh had no doubt in his mind that we would get my son put back together and he would have his bills paid, so we signed the contract, no money down. We finally had some hope. They did everything for us! We never had been in this situation and we sure don't understand all the lawyer lingo, but Daragh made sure we knew all details and put all the legal terminology into a language we understood. The end result? My husband and son were given what was due to them, my son had his surgery and all medical bills paid, I am not worried about my son having his ribs fall apart, and Smith and Hassler made this so stress free! Also Daragh was our voice with the insurance companies who needed to lower there costs, my company's health insurance and even CHIP! He also lowered his end of the deal so my son could have a little more! The office staff was amazing and so kind to my family. We felt comfortable and actually enjoyed the visits to the office! Who knew that lawyers were so nice and kindhearted? I hope to never have to use a lawyer again, but if I do, I know who I am calling!

I don't normally write reviews but Daragh Carter definitely deserves one. Intelligent, quick to respond, honest, not pushy are just a few ways to describe him. Should anything ever arise in the future that requires the assistance of an attorney with his specialty Mr. Carter will surely be hearing from me. Use him and as long as you are honest with him and present the entire facts then I guarantee you will be fully satisfied.

Attorney David Swick was quick to respond and always straight to the point. He never beat around the bush. When I needed more time to recover and was not ready to close me case, he was not pushy and understood completely. When i requested time for 2nd opinions regarding medical portions of my case, he was understanding as well. I would recommend S&H to anyone needing assistance!

I loved working with Daragh! I know, never have been involved in a lawsuit of any kind, I had to have been very annoying with lots of emails, questions and concerns but he always answered back very promptly and with any and all information he had. He is very patient and personable when you talk to him and makes you feel like you always know what is going on during the process and if you don't, you feel very comfortable to just ask. That was what was so important to me after my car accident and I knew I needed to find someone. He was very patient and nice about everything and doesn't push. He will give you all the information, and his opinion if you ask for it ( I of course would since I had no idea what I was doing on that end) , and help you make an informed decision. When it comes to a traumatic experience (car accident) where someone hits you blindsided by running a red light and you become injured, having to have surgery, medical bills, days you cannot go to work, being scared about your finances and how you are going to get through it all. I just experienced that exact thing. I called Smith & Hassler who was recommended by a friend of mine, they definitely came through for me. Mr. Carter answered all my questions, made sure I was taken care of, eased all the anxiety about my finances and everything he promised would happen, Did! He walked me through everything from beginning to end and kept on top of all my Dr's appts, checked in with me and always made sure I was doing o.k. The staff that works there made sure my paperwork was a priority, even though I knew they had way bigger cases than mine. I would recommend Smith & Hassler to anyone who goes through such a traumatic time, because although my thoughts on attorneys have been not so great - they proved that there are those out here that truly care. They worked hard for me till I won my case, was able to replace my vehicle, take care of my medical bills and made sure I was financially taken care of in the end. I could not have asked for more from anyone. Recommend them highly!
