When my car was totalled by a dump truck on the Beltway last year, I thought that it would be relatively easy to get both my property and personal injury claims paid out by the at-fault party's insurance. Property, while semi-difficult, paid out pretty quickly. The insurance company, however, repeatedly ignored my calls about the personal injury side of the claim. I had a back injury related to the accident and I needed relief. I decided at that time that if they didn't want to be responsive, I needed to hire a lawyer. I consulted with some attorney friends in other cities and they told me what to look for in a personal injury attorney. That is how I ended up trying Smith & Hassler. When Daragh Carter contacted me, I checked out his bio and found that he exceeded what I was looking for in a personal injury lawyer. He fought both the at-fault party's insurance and my own medical insurance for a ridiculous lien they placed on the award. Although my pay-out was reduced because of a silly error by my own medical insurance in over-paying a procedure I had, I still came out of this whole ordeal with more cash in my pocket that I would have if I went it alone. I very likely would have ended up with nothing if I had not hired Smith & Hassler. They did a great job and I would definitely use them again if I ever find myself needing the services of a personal injury attorney. Look past the William Shatner commercials you see on TV. This is the real deal.

I am being represented by this law firm, I mostly deal with Melissa Bazan, but I also deal with Ms. Gregory. They are very professional, intelligent, knowledgeable, and always ahead of the game. Gregory law firm makes me feel empowered and like someone has my back. Yes, Attorneys in general are expensive, but you know that already. Myrna in particular has been nothing but compassionate about waiting on my check. Go at it alone if you want, but chances are better with an Attorney. And who knows, maybe you can get Attorney's fees reimbursed by your opponent.

Our experience with Smith & Hassler was pretty smooth throughout the whole journey. Our case was an automobile accident that involved injuries but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The best part of our whole time working with them was how easy and fast we were able to communicate with our lawyer. If I were to send him an email he replied the very same day usually no later than an hour. He also kept me informed throughout the case. One thing that I do appreciate is the fact that I learned something good from an awful experience. Thanks to Smith & Hassler I know that it is best not to give insurance companies, or anyone else other than the lawyer representing you, a statement of the incident. It makes perfect sense on why it is best to do a writing statement instead. I will not only remember to do this (hopefully won't ever have to) in the future, but I will also make sure I let my family and friends know from now on.
