I’ve used Isaac for setting up an LLC and he also did my will. I can’t imagine that there is a lawyer in the Dallas area that could beat Isaac Shutt in thoroughness, ability to explain complex legal jargon, attention to details, and completing everything in a timely manner. I got his name from the Nextdoor app when I asked a legal question and no fewer than six people suggested that I make an appointment with Isaac because they had such a good experience using his services. Great guy, ethical lawyer. You can’t go wrong with his firm. (A little forewarning: His new office location is a little off the main path so get good directions before you start out.)

The Shutt Law Firm PLLC is an excellent law firm with Isaac Shutt at the helm. Isaac is knowledgeable, professional, resourceful, compassionate, honest, and dependable. With his leadership, all the personnel in his law firm shares the same goal of helping people through the maze of legal affairs. I am indebted to Isaac and his Senior Paralegal Amy Frost for taking care of my cousin-in-law's probate after his COVID-related death in July 2021 at the age of 34. Writing this review is very unfortunate, because we really wanted to like Mr. Shutt and his firm. Losing a loved one is tough enough; having to deal with such a disingenuous attorney who wastes such precious time and energy, makes matters so much worse. The good: Mr. Shutt was respectful and diligent in working to get all of our initial questions answered prior to engagement with his firm. We appreciated this so much. The bad: Beyond the travesty of pretending to care about our matter, Mr. Shutt's retainer agreement is a farce. Specifically, with regard to his suggestions that a potential client can and should object to any portions that they do not agree to, Mr. Shutt also refuses to amend his retainer agreement in any way. How is it, therefore, possible to advise him of any potential disagreement(s) of terms and to propose an agreeable change/ amendment if, Mr. Shutt also refuses to ever adapt his retainer agreement in any way? "As we've discussed with you several times to-date, we do not accept alterations to our engagement agreement by potential clients. " -Isaac Shutt We believe it is highly prejudicial, unethical, immoral, and actionable for Mr. Shutt to try to trap potential clients into agreeing to terms to which they wholeheartedly disagree and to use the time spent with them prior to engagement as leverage/ pretext for a forced signature and agreement to their terms. These business practices are abhorrent and will be filed before the TX bar. We do not recommend Mr. Shutt nor do we recommend his firm. Sadly, Mr, Shutt was too much of a _____ to answer our calls and instead had his very sweet admin to take our calls. Adding even more insult to injury. Bottom Line: Please see excerpts from his "standard retainer agreement"; please read carefully before considering him or his firm: Your engagement agreement specifically states: "6. Before You Sign This Contract. Any question or doubt you may have about this contract should be resolved before you sign. This contract is the only time when the interest of the law firm may be in conflict with your own. It is always a prudent practice to seek the advice and counsel of another attorney as to your rights under this contract. " "Your agreement to this engagement constitutes your acceptance of the foregoing terms and conditions. If any of them is unacceptable to you, please advise me now so that I can resolve any differences and proceed with a clear, complete, and consistent understanding of our relationship. If the foregoing correctly reflects our agreements and your understandings, please acknowledge this agreement in the space provided below. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to provide these professional services for you. I look forward to working with you.” If the aforementioned statements are indeed true, we do not understand why, therefore, he would take issue with us adding an additional paragraph of which makes us feel whole and conformable. Please help us to understand how the aforementioned statements can be true if he is also refusing to even modify his agreement in any way. It does not make sense and it is unethical.
